Arbaaz and Malaika used to be extermely decent hosts at mid 90’s early 2000’s award shows, then it all changed and now most people don’t even watch the award shows
Masha'Allah, her voice is similar to my granny and my granny was a big fan of her. Alhamdulillah, what touches me even more is our typical Mumbai accent. At home, we say "kyawa" for "kya hua" and we say "ku" instead of "ko". Also we say "aise kaise ho sakta" and not "aise kaise ho sakta hai"; we say "abbi" and not "abhi" ; we say "konse" and not "kaunse"; we say "ni" for "nahi" ; we say "karri" for "kar rahi"; we say "itti" for "itni"; we say "kera" for "kehra". This is so typical of us. Such interviews just help me to reminisce Mumbai and its people. With the city becoming more and more urbanized and populated, hearing native language that was and is a part and parcel of families who have lived in the city for generations like ours (with all of my greatgrandparents from Mumbai) and that of many others like Waheeda ma'am and Arbaaz bhai, touches the soul. Thank you, Waheeda dadi. Thank you, Arbaaz bhai.
Apart from her versatility & beauty, looks like she has a great sense of humor. In all of her interviews ( which I have seen ) , she is always so jovial, laughing & having fun with the host/hostess.
One of the most iconic actresses ever on Indian silver screen! Waheeda Rahman ji is truly the greatest. Admire her for her principles and dignified behaviour. Great lady! An excellent interaction conceived and executed by Arbaaz Khan. Kudos to him!
Gurudutt ji man the ...man will be man n woman uss time bhi smart thi aur aaj bhi hai ...wahida ji ne gurudutt se relation rakha kyuki bollywood me Shayad aise hi break milte hai ...chalo waheeda ji aapko break mil gaya n gurudutt ji n geetadutt ji ka Ghar life sab Barbaad hi ...chalo koi nhi bhai kyuki man will be man
Waheeda ji has a charm that no matter, who you are, when she speaks, you can keep listening to her. An icon, a legend, and one of the most beautiful ladies ever not only in Bollywood or India, but in the whole world. Wish her nothing but best
The attitude of being adamant generally comes in a person when not being in much necessity bcz of being from a well to do family. Waheeda ji has been an icon in the film industry.
When Gurudutt showed interest in her, she could have rejected as he was a married man with three kids. As she was new to industry and trying to establish herself. So they had an affair. When Geetha dutt came to know it, as she could not stop him she took to drinking. Added to this they lost one of their three kids. Slowly Geethaji lost interest in her career. After Waheeda started getting offers from other film makers she started distancing herself from Gurudutt whose films were disasters at the box office. Unable to bear disappointment from both sides, Gurudutt committed suicide after which Geetha dutt's health started deteriorating and soon she left the world . I got this information from one of the RU-vid channels. She behaved just like Rosy in Guide. But today she is praised by all. What a pity.
Then who's fault was that? He was married then he must have not shown any sort of interest in any actress. what happened between them no one knows. we should not judge other's life that too about elders. even if she loved him she hadn't tried to break his family. That was Guru Dutt sir spoiled his own life.may be he was in depression. We don't know. it's her right to make a decision about her life.
Hardly high morals. She is a hypocrite. She destroyed Geeta Dutt's life and the lives of her three children. She took advantage of Guru Dutt's foolishness to further her career and then distanced herself when she found a foothold. By then it was too late for Geeta Dutt. Now she projects a goody goody image.
I m from.pakistan ..Impressed by arbaz.. v confident . V comfortable . V bold .. n knows how to talk brilliantly wd waheed n other peoples. Should have started before .. he doesn't know how to act .. not a goodactor ..❤❤❤❤so don't try in bollywood. ...
Waheedaji you are quite lucky to have young kids as your fans. Listen to a podcast called 'Reminiscing Bollywood Classics' by Praneet and you'll be in awe of yourself when you'll hear a young fella describing your acting&dancing skills and above all your beauty.
I like very much Wahidaji for her graceful performances in acting, dancing. Even now she looks stunning ,graceful. But real moral value of men and women lies in his or her action. Wahidaji destroyed very conciously two lives of Guru datt and Geeta datt . How can a woman do such an immoral, selfish act to destroy another woman' s loving family with 3 kids? Shame on Wahida, an inhumane character.
The whole Bollywood and nexus has been going through with the same situations since decades then why only Gurudutt? Did someone was behind Gurudutt? Someone close whom he had trusted? Why Waheeda giving lecture on Gurudutt? #BoycottBollywood #BollywoodAndItsNexusCollapsed
Been very lucky to have met her and she is so regal, classy, soft spoken and YET down to earth. My kids had no idea about her and this is what I told my kids that IF Ms Rehman walks into a room, Amitabh B / SRK / Salman K or whosoever will get up from their seat and offer it to her as a mark of respect . They now know her well 😊…
Always felt sad for Geeta Roy Dutt and her 3 kids, this lady ruined her household completely, How on earth Guru Dutt betrayed his wife Geeta? who helped to build his career when he was absolutely nothing and supported him in movie business. Geeta was then highly paid play back singer and an iconic personality among indian film fraternity, when Geeta refused to divorce dutt knowing his affair with waheeda he left her and started staying separately which led Geeta into nervous breakdown and got into alcoholism. She neglected her peek career and lost everything her fame, income, husband and her own life too leaving 3 kids behind aged between 10-16. How on earth a woman can destroy another woman's world? Just by wearing classy clothes & jewellery with sweet talks woman cannot be graceful or even called as woman of substance...a real woman will always feel or sense the pain of other woman and always support her by lifting her faith & hope.
I second your view! She definitely ruined a family of Geeta dutt though I blame Guru dutt for the same! It seems "men are not attractive unless they belong to other women " !
😀😀😀 excellent, one of the top actresses. What a simple girl. very beautiful, graceful, straightforward, honest, and upfront. down to earth. I love her. very interesting.
Ye mere mummy papa k bachpan ki movie actress hai, par kasam se mujhe jitna acha black n white movie actors aur 70s k actors ke interview dekne mein lagta hai woh ajkal k humare daur k actors k interview sunne mein utna maza nahi aata. Ye old actors kitne salikey se aur kitni honest batein karte hain. ❤ .
Guru dutt ji was in love with you.. that's why he was in depression...but she has no feelings for him.she talks about his death in a casual way...such an ungrateful.....😢
This is typical of her.Guru Dutt made Waheeda Rehman a superstar .She too was in love (??) with me or now I feel that she must have just pretended and used him to be successful. She played with his emotions. Caught between Geeta n Wzheeda this genius Guru Dutt went through rough patch. And ultimately left this World. But this lady has no feelings for him.
Respect to u MAAM. In my country, I saw u in Guide & about 2 others. Yes, that was in my youth & u too were soooo young, beautiful & talented. Indian cinema changed big time from those days. In a piece of music, I saw u glide from side to side, flawlessly & smoothly with the rhythm!! Was the power & control of ur dancing skills. 🙏🌻 Blessed.
Hello Waheeda Rehman, Geeta Dutt was my father's cousin. We have heard that you used to come to Guru Dutt's house in the night and get inside his bedroom and shut the door on Geeta Dutt's face.
Mahesh Bhatt: To make a film on Praveen Babi without her approval or showing it to her is a mean mean thing to do, Mahesh. Today Karan Johar can get a stay on a film with his name used in the title, but Praveen never got that opportunity, she was used by this man to further his career while he vanished and it shook her. Imagine her vulnerability!
Wow what an interview! Waheda ji you are amazing. Ever since i saw Guide in 1964, when i was in 4th year engg. college i became your fan. Also Khamashi which is your favourite. Pyar kih pyar hee rahneh do koyi naam nah do. You as nurse of Rajesh Khanna in depression, twisted it as ' koyi naam deh do' to give him jolt. He became alright and you went into depression in Khamoshi. I relate that movie with my life also as i too suffered heart break. Time is a great healer and today at 75 i am happy & contended person with my arranged marriage wife and 2 bright children. CKChanda also your super performance. I pray for your long healthy life and am touched by your noble thinking like why crave inly for 1st, 2nd. 3rd position? There are 4th, 5th persons also in waiting. Also feeding hungry persons or animals is your priority. Live you waheda ji 🎉🎉🎉❤
वहीदा जी ने अपने पूरे अब तक के जीवन में अपने माता पिता और नृत्य गुरु द्वारा दिये गए संस्कारों को आत्मसात किये रखा. मै उनके खुश हाल जीवन की कामना करता हूँ.
I have a follow up question on Arbaaz's question. Not just the courage, but how did she have the maturity to even know that such situations could arise. Like when I look back at myself at 17-18, I was a complete goober. Or it could be that what is being refered as Wahida Ji herself is basically her team, or most likely her mother who had the good sense to negotiate good terms for her.
Solva saal was such a good movie. Waheeda ji, you did so well in that movie. I loved it. So grateful, elegant and beautiful even now. Loved her then, love her now and always will.
No one remembers Asha Parekh ji performance in do badan even if you ask her character name of that movie very less people might recall but whenever it comes to guide movie all remembers Rosie
