This was a fascinating, entertaining and informative review. I cut my own hair and I've been looking for a machine that is sharper than my Andis T-outliner for a really long time and I came across these two choices. Thanks for helping me to decide which to buy. Since I have thick nappy 4C hair it seems like the Wahl detailer will be better for me to cut through it and I will really appreciate the super sharp blade. This really helped me man. Very good job explaining the features of each. Thanks for this awesome video. You had me at the edge of my seat waiting to hear the winner.
Great review Chris! I think that overall the 787's are better once you get a feel4them. Even if some say that the detailer gives a better line. The feel of the trimmer is just as important as the results. The arogonomics and build quality combined with the sharpness of the babyliss is as close to drawing with a pencil as you can get. No other trimmer out right now gives you that. Zero gap these and you've got something special!
Years ago I had those wahls but with the cord. By far the BEST edgers I ever had as far as performance. Straight out the box they left super sharp lines without scratching the customers skin.....the bad thing was that I went through 4 of them within 1 year....reason why was because the housing ALWAYS broke, disintegrated, fell apart. I kept returning them because of this. On the last one I was EXTREMELY careful with how I used them, how I put them down, how I handled them....they still broke apart. But all 4 that I went through Straight out the box cut sharp without scratching customers.....
Both with these tools get the job done with the babyliss would be more of a workhorse seting guide lines for me, because they beat the hair creating a line that I can blend out, but them detailers are one and done then clean up you got to be on point with them
I have them both. The detailers give a sharper cut to me but like you said the blade is sharp. I use the detailers for the beard and mustache. Babyliss on the head outline.
👋 what is the difference from fx787g -2 hours runtime - ? And fx 787g -3 hours runtime and the price is different also? Thanks!! 😊 I don’t know which one is better to order. Thanks !! 😊
Can we get an updated opinion in 2022? lol I have the fx3, gold fx , lo pros and sliver fx, and I’m thinking about getting these. Would you still suggest them ?
On clean dry hair, NOT greasy hair with natural oils The most heavy duty cutting trimmers that needs less taps and pass overs are in any order; Corded wahl heros, corded/cordless Detailers, babyliss skeletons and that’s it. Andis slim lines hit harder than the cordless t outliners but I would pass both these trimmers for the ones I mentioned above. As for the video I like both trimmers lol.
Im kinda late but i just ordered my cordless detailers bout 15 mins befo i pulled up this video! Made me feel a lil better bout my purchase! Honestly neva even heard of the babyliss joints but now I know! When i feel like dropping 200 im get those too jus to see what all da hype about! Been having andis t-outliners for over 10 yrs and its bout time i change it up! Detailers be here tomorrow so im looking forward to it! Appreciate the content bruh bruhhhhh 💪🏾✌🏾
I liked your opinion on it bru, cause It was a hard choice. Both are very good, but to be honest, that detailer works its but off, not saying the babyliss don't , on kids, light skin, and women. So yea, you right.
I think for the $ they want for the Babyliss I’d go with the Wahl Detailers... the Babyliss looks nice but I can get a simular cut for a FRACTION of the price $ ... they want a car note or insurance payment for those clippers... now if you can get your hands on some off the hook up like I’m abt to this weekend from my man then hey.. get’em but I’m not sure I’d buy them full price
Thank you 🙏🏾 I brought the Detailers & I thought abt buying the babyliss but I can save my $ ... I thought you was gonna pick the babyliss bc it looked like it was hitting more accurately but I guess the feeling of the Detailers may hv felt better & maybe the teeth slightly edged out the competition
I stumbled onto the corded detailer a couple months ago and fell in love. I could just imagine how the cordless one feels... but that gold babyliss looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@MrOutliner right now I'm still using my Andis Slimline Li and the corded Detailers....I had the Rose Gold Babyliss Trimmers when they first came out...they were loud and didn't cut! Lol
@@jonscott5080 Actually neither is really thinner, at least where it matters. Aside from variance between blades, simply because of manufacturing randomness, both blades are roughly the same diameter of thickness, at the point where the moving blade meets the guiding blade, once zero-gapped.
Great video bro I just coped the gold fx over the detailer li just because I got the gold fx2 shaver and the skeleton fix in a bundle I’m a beginner barber been leaning on andis even got them cordless t outliners and envy li but once I got my hands on gold fx clipper I loved it even over my cordless seniors but these trimmers have me with mix emotions so much hype over gold fx it’s crazy bossio and rum barber and everyone been going crazy lol
great video! Please help, I have had both trimmers out of the box before. No adjustments but snags the hair when going up! Oiled up too and everything looks even and stock. Why do trimmers snag?? should i get a new pair?? please help anyone,,, I have had trimmers hit fine in the past with no snags going up, so i know its not me....
Yo outliner have u ever though about reviewing haircuts? Like ur subscribers send u the haircuts we have done and u review them on a video? That'll be dope
Me. Outliner I put a ceramic blade on my cordless detailed but they sound loud now what can I do to kill the noise. I can send you a message or IG if it’s cool with you so you can hear them
I just picked up a babyliss. I been cutting my beard myself for many years. Im no pro. I sent the babyliss back. Reason. Because for 12 bucks a blade, i can get a relatively similar line and easy to use, cheap oneblade. Obviously the first time u buy it, u gotta pay the 30-45 bucks for the unit and a blade. They shave down pretty good. Not mach 3 good, but relatively well. You will look professional. I still use a corded wahl t blade to made my line, old af. Never replaced the blade on it. Never did anything to it, besides brush the hair off and oil it every once in a while lol. Anyway, I just didn't think I'd ever get my 170 bucks out of this machine. Out of the box, it cut well. It made a pretty sharp line. I wanted better. So i found myself going over my babyliss line with the one blade anyway, so why bother it at all, imo. Im no pro, so I dont need it. It is very nice. Esp now, they have an even better blade. Better grip with rubber. I didnt notice it being to loud. For the price, it should have a small quiet brushless motor in it for sure.
I did change the blade but i didn’t adjust them. So that’s how they work with the ceramic blade or the metal blade it comes with. Babyliss trimmers break easily. That’s truth
@CALICOTV301 Yeah bro like my man said he only swap the blade on the Wahl and put a ceramic blade instead, it's a preference, you can try it if you want to
Babyliss Customer Service SUCKS!!!!! That plays a big role with me especially when I own a barbershop and don’t have time for games on the phone or via email. Wahl detailers are on point tho! Strong out the box, hard working and excellent customer service.
I almost stopped watching at 8 minutes because the detailer had put the babyliss to shame, but i kept watching, definitely thought you were going to choose babyliss, so glad you didnt! And PS you forgot to mention how much annoyingly louder the gold fx is than the detailer! Great video though!
Guys, is this Wahl detailer sharper than my T-outliner for lining up? My T-outliner has not been giving me the sharpest lineups, I need something crisper since I don't ever use razor. Which of these is sharper than a T-outliner??
@@MrOutliner Thanks, I'll be buying this straight under the bed my T-outliner is gonna go. Know anybody who could use it? I'd be happy to gift it. Thanks again.
Basically Wahl is for men (and wrinkled skin/older skin) and Babyliss is for very sensitive skin (kids, women, etc). I’m a 35yo and my babyliss is pinching my skin so bad. Swap it to the Wahl ane it workw MUCH better, no more pinching and cutting.
It "looked" easier with the babyliss... like they cut effortlessly. You went over and over with the wahl and wit da vabyliss you really just tapped once.
