If you're looking for gifts for friends and relatives back home, you'll do better at the flea market at the football stadium. ABC stores are convenient if you run out of something or if you want a snack.
One thing that always impresses me about the ABC stores is how well stocked and how tidy their stores are, considering the volume of tourists that come and go. Never seems to be in disarray.
Me and my family cam back from Hawaii last Monday. I had so much fun. The abc stores were amazing and cheap. I also love their beaches. Clear waters, I also walked to the very top of diamond head. The people were amazing. I ate their famous shave ice. I bought allot of Hawaiian cloths. In the future I’m going to go back to Hawaii. Mahalo
This is awesome - so helpful. I'm having a 3-day stop-over on my way home to Australia in August and don't want to spend too much on food in my hotel. Thanks to your video I know where I can buy lunch/dinner items I can take back to my room for consumption.
I love your video about the ABC stores I was in Hawaii March 2020 and I watch with interest all the videos you make. Thank you for taking me back to Hawaii and I hope to get back there so when its safe for us to travel again.
PhotoLukeHawaii I loved it.right in the middle of all the action, and beautiful view of Waikiki beach, but not cheap.we hope to stay there again but probably not for a few years,it was so convenient too,and super happy the laundry was downstairs ,arrived from Las Vegas in the afternoon, got the dirty laundry sorted, got two machines going, went to the sandwich shop, got something to eat and sat there waiting for it all to be finished.loved dukes and everything else around!highly recommend it if you can afford it,but I think it’s the cheapest hotel right on the beach to be honest.
Thanks for using that song "Gemini" by Mama Zulu. One of my faves now! Mahalo! Nice to see the inside of this ABC too. Great video! Hope all is well! 🤙🏽🙏🏽
Joey Aloha Healing Zone oh cool you know that song =) Yeah this ABC Store was bigger than I thought it was. Yes all is well hope all is good for you too! Thanks for watching Joey! Aloha =).
Jeez, everything really is in that store. In my state, "ABC Stores" are where the state sells liquor. I remember little shops in Waikiki that had lots of postcards of topless women on the beach. That was around 1980, 1981.
Thank you for introducing us mainlanders to the ABC Stores! They actually have an online store so I purchased a few things from them and they arrived in about a week (it's Oct 2020)!
A-Michele oh I'm glad you were able to buy somethings online from ABC Stores! Hope you are doing well! Sorry not sure how I missed this comment. aloha =)
HowZit? Greetings from the mainland California. Thanks so much for the video. When I visit Hawaii I love to go to ABC stores to shop for snacks and trinkets. It was a fun tour. Almost felt like I was in the store too. Stay safe out there. Aloha!🌴
Interesting to watch this now...March 2020 was right before covid hit. My first stop in Waikiki after checking into my room is the ABC Store! I've been in this one, though not as many as some others.
ABC stores have such an interesting variety of products. It's like a super market these days. I'm in Asia now but lived in Hawaii for many years. At that time back in the 70s-80s the stores were fairly small. Quick tip, when your walking in the street try to pan more so we can see the whole environment. I keep wanting to turn your cam to see more across the street or in this case the front of the market place. Nice vlog though, Thanks and Aloha. 🌅🌺🌴💜
surfr5 360 video would solve that =)... Eventually I'll get to that. Yeah sorry I would pan more and take my time but, we are usually short on time but, I will keep that in mind though thank you. Thanks for watching! Have a great day! Aloha =)
Hubby and I were married in Oahu last May. We stayed at the Outrigger in 2017 and last year ! I recognized one woman who is a cashier. I fell in love with their onion chips and their perfume. Their chocolate is yummy. Just bought some their chocolate here in Ross' department store. Wanted to go back in May, but because of this Corona Virus we opted out.😥
Jacqueline Kariuki awesome you folks enjoyed your previous trips and congratulations on your recent marriage! Yay! Cool you recognized that cashier! Yeah this virus is really messing up people travel plans. Hopefully you folks can reschedule for a later date. Thanks for watching! Have a great day! Aloha =)
I bought a float at that very store, after I paid for it, the cashier asked me if I wanted it blown up, I said yes she went in the back and I could hear a little compressor running, a couple of minutes later she handed it to me. I then walked happily out the store and over too the beach, had a lot of fun riding the waves on that thing.
corvettefan91 wow that's really cool that hey blow it up for you! I didn't know they did that, thanks for that info and thanks for watching! Have a good one! Aloha =)
Like the video. Been hnl about 8 times (worked flights) and surprised the prices of food at ABC being so high. I stayed 1 day each time and ate at restaurants. Going next month to waikiki near princess kamalei, sheraton, any grocery store s nearby to buy food?noticed food land on Kulio was closed. Help plz
Barbara Cameron wow you come often! Yes the prices of certain things are high. I think this place is more for connivence. Water is usually a good price. If you go to the Food Pantry on Hobron it's the only grocery store in Waikiki. Here's a video about it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Ns9cdbGqCY.html We will still notice the prices are kinda high on certain things but, maybe that's just Hawaii prices. Thanks for watching and hope this helps! Aloha =)
@@PhotoLukeHawaii hi! Thx for info!! Yikes! How can afford to eat? Even grocery store is very high! I'm bringing stuff( allowed)for ref in room.i really liked old int'l mkt place! Great food court.good, cheap food. New one is like one at home.want hawaii feel, not stupid not affordable saks.Everyones not rich! Excited about trip. Big fear of covid here.I had it, mild! Have had worse hangovers than my covid.aloha!🤙🤙🤙
Gary Martin the water and food is reasonable. Everything else can be a good price or a little higher than normal. I think cause they are such a big chain the bulk buy so they can keep the prices down but, yeah they aren't that bad for Hawaii prices. Thanks for watching! Aloha =)
Gotta love the ABC stores we certainly do. But it is such a shame how they have wrecked the International Market Place from what it used to be. Not a fan anymore it is just like the rest of the high end store areas now and not really worth a visit anymore. Big shame.
I have a friend in Las Vegas who is boycotting ABC stores in Las Vegas because they only hire Filipinos. He is white. So I've been to ALOT of ABC stores in Honolulu and.. Uhhh..... Yeahhhhhhh. Seems like they only hire Filipinos. Hmmmm. Or is it just a coincidence? 🤔. I thought it was a filipino owned company but it was started in Hawai'i by a Japanese American.
@@JESUSISLORDforevermore888 I have to agree, I have seen a few white people in ABC"s but I think most white people are not interested in working in convenience stores. You could say the same for all most of the tourist industry related businesses. I just believe most filipinos are not afraid of working a bit harder to make a living while most white people would rather find a higher paying job to get rich quicker lol. If their friend travelled to the Philippines and experienced the culture there he might realize why filipinos here are so grateful for these jobs and that racism has really nothing to do with it.
Dave Davis Mahalo, Dave. You, too, are absolutely RIGHT. I live in Hawaii and I do not think that the Filipinos, at least not ALL, are trying to be racists
Sean Dorsey I'm not sure but, I'd like to think they aren't but who knows. I do know like Jada said there are lots of Pinoy's (Filipinos) here, I mean a lot! People think there are lots of Japanese here but, I think there are more Filipinos here lol! Anyways, I agree with Jada and Dave that in general they will work fast food, convenience stores, and house cleaning especially if they don't have a degree in something that would give them others types of job. I'm in this bracket too as I don't have a degree in anything. So it might be cause they are more willing to do those kinds of jobs. I didn't know they had ABC Stores in Vegas wow! That's amazing lol! Thanks for watching and good question! Hope you're doing well! Aloha =)
