Richard Sundown I'm the one who is blessed to have such great supporters like you! I really appreciate you and all my other viewers and supporters! Thank you!!! Aloha =)
This was another fantastic video. I love these without music and all the natural sounds. Due toage & health this is as close as I will get to my most favorite place on this planet. the only thing I missed in this one , was not knowing what streets you turned on, as I know most of the streets there. Keep these coming, they make my day!! Mahalo!!
Jean Barton thank you for the awesome comment! I will work on adding street names! Thanks for the suggestion! Sorry took so long to respond. I didnt see this comment until now. Have a great week! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
Mahalo for that nice videos you posts! I love to watch them. I visited Oahu the first time 1988 and had the clear target to go back to there. I visited it again 2014 and I thought the 2018 visit would be my last one.... But I can’t resist not to go back. I hope I will be able to make it 2022. It’s already planned. It’s for me the best and most beautiful place in the whole world! Also 2014 had been a huge difference to 1988, the developed living areas increased so much comparing to my memories but the beauty of that place even human can’t destroy. Aloha
That is one great video! I miss my walks around Waikiki! Today I was feeling like taking a nap; I turned this video on in the background and sleep like a happy baby. This is a good thing. Very comforting
Yay! I'm glad this video did that for you! We just want to share the walk with all of you and hope it bring memories or show others planning for a visit what is around. Thank you for watching and for your support! Have a good day! Aloha =)
I love this walking tour! I have never been to Hawaii but I dream of going hopefully one day. I felt like I was right there . I really enjoyed watching and like how you took your time to take everything in. Thanks for the great video!
Christine Himes yay! Glad you enjoyed this! Check out our playlist Hawaii Walks & Places for more like this. Hope you get to come to Hawaii some day! Have a great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
can't say enough good things about this video.....Waikiki neighborhood is the best place I've ever visited.......anxious to return to the best place on earth.....thanks
Hey Luke, mahalos to you and Cheryl and Austin. I used to live in Honolulu and walked everywhere, so your videos are like coming home again. I gotta be honest, I get tears in my eyes sometimes, and I'm shouting at you STOP THERE FOR A MINUTE LONGER! or TURN LEFT AND LOOK AT DAT! but you're on your way, and I sigh and do a screen grab and add it to my pictures of home. Like a lot of people I thought it was smart to go to the mainland where I could buy a house. So I have a house now, but the thing is, it's on the mainland. No one here knows what a musubi is, no one has even heard of a bon dance, and the cockroaches never get big enough to name. So I sit in my house listening to the old music, watching your videos of the old places, and wishing every day that I was working two jobs again to pay stupid high rent back in the place that my heart calls home. I'm saving up, and maybe in two thousand years I'll have a downpayment scraped together. So between now and then, mucho mahalo for breaking my heart over and over with Zippys, Chinatown, ABC Stores, bon dances, Foodlands, parades, hikes, PCC, beaches, Waikiki, and all those millions of little places and things that make a place home. Primo raised to you from all the kamaaina that chased dumb stuff like jobs or housing to the mainland.
Mauka Showers aw thank you so much for watching and for your comment! Wow you really made me happy and sad at the sometime but, in a good way! Happy I can bring Hawaii to you but, sad that you feel the separation of someplace you love so much! I don't think you made the wrong decision to move somewhere you could afford to buy a house and not have to work crazy hours and two jobs to afford to pay rent and everyday things like food. You did that so you had less stress, so you had more piece of mind and better over all health. I know it's not the same to see everything on videos but, if you keep watching I'll try stop more to pan over some places more often. Where is your stomping grounds? Give me a little bit of your history on where you used to go so I will keep that in mind when I'm walking. Maybe a live stream is possible too but, the video isn't as good. Aside from the videos I think you need to come back for a visit. Eat your musubis and whatever you are carving! Go check out all the places you used to go! Take your pictures and/or videos so you can remember more. I think you need it! It's always here for you! You have to feed your soul! Let me know I'll do what I can =). Hope your new year was good! Plenty illegal aerials over here this year, more than normal anyways, lol! Take care and looking forward to your reply! Aloha =)
I loved this so much! I added it to my favorites. 😄 Man oh man do I miss Waikiki. Hoping to get back there real soon. Loved seeing the Aston hotel at the beginning of the video. That is where my husband and I stayed last September. So fun! This video made my day. Thank you for sharing. 🤗🌴
Tracy Morrison yay! I’m glad I get those in to stir up those memories! I keep thinking I got most of Waikiki but, there’s just so much. I realized doing these videos that I haven’t come close to getting it all, lol! More to come Tracy thanks for the awesome comment! Let me know if you have request. Have a great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽

Makes me sad watching this again, when will life be back to normal?will it ever be?id love just the simple thing of walking down Kalākaua ave again,go shopping, buy a dole whip,go to dukes for a cocktail, buy some honolulu cookies,go browsing through an abc shop☹️I’m glad you have made these videos Mahalo Luke,I hope you and the family are well sorry for my whinge lol
Elizabeth Cozma thanks yes we are doing good! You can whine to me all you, like Iʻm here for you... Hope you folks are okay. I cannot wait for things to go back to some kind of normal so we can all get all get on with life again.
PhotoLukeHawaii I don’t think it will be back to normal till someone is able to develop a vaccine, but we all just have to look after ourselves and each other by taking good advice from the medical field that know what they are doing.look forward to your next video!aloha 🌺
Covid-19 makes it impossile for me to visit Honolulu for a long time. I wonder how soon I`ll be able to come back there again with my family. Your video brings me to Waikiki as if I`m really there.
MrEjidorie yes stop by anytime for a safe visit to Hawaii through my videos. Sorry you are not able to travel now.. It's better to wait. We want to travel too but are not able to. Thank you so much for watching and supporting us! Mahalo =)
Neil Sumanda it's been hot at about 85 degrees with humidity but, I guess that's cool for some people. In this video yeah it was a cooler. Thank you! Aloha =)
I need to build up my walking before I go again. It's really bad and I'm almost 66. This has been a bad year for everything but another trip to Hawaii may be the motivation I need. Now I need it to cool down in Texas so I can start. There is a mall and I won't get distracted by shopping. I have too much stuff and usually get a nice piece of jewelry for my Hawaiian souvenir. Easy to pack
Celia Gorleski ah yes we can relate. When we go on trips we the beginning part of our trips are usually more tiring because of all the walking we do and then we realize how out of shape we are. Thanks for watching! Hawaii is here when you need that well deserved vacation! Have a great day! Aloha =)
schwul1956 hope you can come here one day! Until then please look through my playlists to find our other videos like this. Hawaii Walk & Places might interest you. Thanks for your support! Have a great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
I live in Hawaii ... haven't been to Waikiki in over twenty years ... it was nice to stroll around and see all the changes that has taken place.without actually having to go there ... thank you!
Joe doyle LOL! I hear you! My aunts and cousins that live in out the windward side never come in to Waikiki either! I don't blame you folks! Yes come see it through video that's always a great option! Thank you too! Aloha =)
Jervisdude oh cool! Yes you may see a lot of changes and renovations. Currently in Waikiki there's construction going on here and there. Mostly renovations and upgrades. Hopefully when you get here most of it is done.
Dawn Skinner thank you for the awesome comment! Waikiki can be such an awesome place! To see all the visitors walking around enjoying themselves is pretty cool! We do our morning walks through there sometimes 2-3 times a week, always something new to see! Have a great week! Aloha =)
Great video. Nice to get some idea of what it looks like over there in Hawaii. I have a question regarding vegetation there...ive noticed that almost all the palm trees there are coconut palm trees. How about other palm trees? Why arent they more common there? In the Canary islands there are coconut palms but there are also at least 3 or 4 other palm tree species that are very common. Especially Pheonix canariensis which as the name suggests is the native palm species of the Canary islands. However now it is cultivated in many warm climate places. Is this palm tree even found anywhere on Hawaii?
Dream TheDream89 we do have other varieties of palm. On main streets it's usually the coconut ones. I know if you go to some botanical gardens you'll see them there. I'm really not sure why we have mostly the coconut. I know it's a part of our food sources here especially for the Polynesians. Here's on botanical garden that has some ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oVBPbtznadc.html. Thanks for watching! If I find out why I'll let you know! Aloha =)
@@PhotoLukeHawaii im thinking that maybe it has something to do with humidity. Maybe some palm species dont do well in rather humid places such as Hawaii. In fact when I read about the coco nut tree it turned out that it has been brought around the world by people and in many places where it is common today it has been introduced in the last 500 years. To Hawaii it was brought by early settlers from somewhere else. In Canary islands they are also grown in many places and on beaches but they werent here originally like in many other places. However when it comes to other palm trees maybe they do better on Canary islands than on Hawaii because its not as humid as in Hawaii. Dont quite know about that so well. But i wonder what would happen if you would try to grow large parks or forests made of Phoenix canariensis there. Would they do well.
@brian richmond that palm tree is so rare i read. Hopefully it will become more common. Yes i read that cocos have been brought to many places by sailors and settlers and introduced there. How about date palms in Hawaii? Are there many of those? Why arent they grown in parks there? I havent seen them in videos of Hawaii and I wonder why. Date palms are very common in other warm climate places. They do well in scorching temperatures so the heat is good for them. So maybe the humidity is the problem then
June Rosa yay! Thank you for your support! Please watch as many of our walks as you want to! ru-vid.com/group/PLxfXsQszwAJQU5bT5MgrQxhEVuZXjIEAU. Aloha =)
Hi! In this video I'm using a iPhone 8 Plus with a Smooth Q gimbal. My newer videos I'm usually using a GoPro Hero 7 Black. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! Aloha =)
11:00 Hawaiian Superman!!! Do you ever get copyright strikes from RU-vid when cars or guys hanging out at the park are blasting the radio? I'm always worried so I try to edit the sound out! Great job...it was a pleasure to go walking with you!
Show Some Aloha hi =). Ah good question! So what I do usually when I'm videoing is I try not to be in one place too long with music that might be copyright protected but, that's usually not possible. I actually run in to this problem with bon dance music all the time. Okay so when I'm editing if you want the least amount of possible chances of problems and don't want to re-edited the video I would make short clips with the possible copyright music on it less than 20 seconds, usually 19.8 seconds max then I cut to the next clip. Then I usually don't have a problem. Sometimes for whatever reason youtube will still tell me it's copyright protected but that's from the a re-edit. Usually 99.9% of the time 19.8 seconds of a copyright song clip works. This doesn't work for long walking videos. You can always try to make the video then upload it set to private and see what copyright warnings there are in it and re-edited it. This is what I do. I have only gotten one strike a few years ago and it was from contesting a warning not from uploading a video with copyright music on it. The strike cost me a penalty of not being able to upload any video longer than 15 minutes for a year. I'm not sure if it affects monetization as I wasn't monetized at the time. If you get a copyright warning, they will show you the time location in the video of each warning with the song name and company name. Warnings could include: "Includes copyrighted content" "Blocked in some countries" "Blocked world wide" In Creator Studio, when in Video Manager if you see a warning to the right of your video you can click on it and it will tell you what kind of warning it is. You'll see "Viewing Restrictions" and "Monetization" If under Viewing Restrictions is says "None" but, Monetization it says: "Can't monetize video" You can still use it but, can't monetize it. other variations are: -Includes copyrighted content, you can use it but you will be sharing revenue from ads -Blocked in some countries means you can still use but, cannot monetize and it will not be seen in those banned countries -Blocked world wide basically means you can't monetize and no one can see it except you I have made songs with garage band using their sound bites and used it in my videos and have gotten a copyright warning and I contested it because I know I made it and it should not be copyright protected. When I contested I nicely explained to them I made the song with garage band and it should be free to use. After a review (maybe hours or weeks) the warning was removed. If I use garage band or any other music maker I make sure to alter the tempo from its original form to help make it even more different from what others might be making with it too. So usually I edit the video as I want it. Upload it privately. If I get a warning. I erase it from youtube. Re-edited it and upload it again (be ready for other copyright warnings to pop up when you upload the re-edit but it usually doesn't happen). Also sometimes a copyright warning may not appear until you make your video public but it usually doesn't happen. By the way you would be surprised how much older Hawaiian music will not bring up a warning as I'm sure a lot of other types of older or less popular music won't either. I love live music, no problems usually although I had a warning with a Josh Tatofi and a BET song which makes me think they also used recorded music in the background of their live performance or they play it perfectly to their recorded music. Hope this helps sorry such a long winded explanation. Sorry if you knew all of most of this. =)
@@PhotoLukeHawaii Wow thanks for the wealth of info. I'm going to write this ail down, you are awesome. I don't think we're near monetization yet but hopefully by next year we can be there.
Show Some Aloha let me know if you have anymore questions. I don't know too much just what I've gone through and I talk too much sometimes lol sorry. You're review for getting monetized should be up soon, takes about a month. Just need to setup your AdSense if you haven't yet. I think located I your Creator Studio - then Monetization - then AdSense settings. =)
You don't use those titles anymore, I noticed. Does it still count as "all natural" if you're talking and doing more of a personalization of the video?
Tr0nzoid lol It was an accident I stopped putting All Natural and then I realized most of my videos were going to be natural without music so I just stopped using it. For the talking videos I try to remember to put Walk Talk above the 4K on the bottom right of the screen. I'm still going to play around with how I show it. I'm probably given more info on that thumbnail than I need to.
mimzy19jodem oh sorry you're not able to be here or had to move. We really appreciate you watching and hope you are doing good! If you want to see more of our Hawaii videos check these other videos we did out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9RkWiKWQgt8.html. Thanks for watching! Aloha =)
leanne bridges oh yes sorry, us Americans like to put the dates in odd ways lol. It’s May 3, 2018. I forgot to put in on the video thumbnail. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking. Have great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
Thomas Bies I'm not sure about the front with all the umbrellas but behind it is Cuckoo Coconuts which looks like it's a bar. I've never been there. Sorry I probably saw what you were seeing. Not sure what the front of it is. Let me know if you find out. Thanks for watching! Aloha =)
PhotoLukeHawaii I think that is Cuckoo Coconuts. I just Googled it and it looks like the same place. Anyways, I’m going to Honolulu in 2 weeks so thanks for showing me a place I need to check out 😃
Buz & Fely Asis oh good to know. Thank you for the info. I've never been to Manila but, I can imagine it's kinda like Hawaii. Thanks for watching! Have a great day! Aloha =)
Too bad you can't capture the feeling, the heaviness of the humitity and the sweet smell of the air really make Hawaii different. Who knows, maybe one day ?!! Thank you for sharing Hawaii with us. Aloha.
Dean Gregory great idea! I did one before but it was including with a Waikiki walk and had music to it, ill do it again just as International Marketplace. Have a good weekend! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
OMGWTFLOL no they just made it to a mall. They still have a International Market Place on Duke’s Lane. Its just like the old International Marlet Place. Have a great day!
Show Some Aloha I know right crazy how they stay in business that way but, they seem to have it worked out. Other places open too many locations and they go out of business but not them. thank you!
I think there are nearly 40 ABC Stores in Waikiki, as I recall. They all have customers because Waikiki is a very densely developed and populated district.
hawaiiguy1 howzit 😁👋 I’m hand holding a gimbal and an iphone 8 plus. The stabalizer in the iphone 8 plus kind works against the Smooth Q gimbal I use causing a little shake or warp once in a while but otherwise it works good! Hope that helps! Have a great week! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
hawaiiguy1 the Byodo-In temple walk is really a nice feeling not creepy at all. Although if I walked the gravetyard at nice I might have s difference of oppinion. Have a great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
Brenda Broadis yay! Unfortunately there are still a lot of smokers but, I think the numbers have gone down especially with the 30 year old's and up! I see more people vaping now days too. I agree with you though I don't see as many as before and I guess none in the video yay! Have a great day! Aloha =)
I enjoy watching your videos to the fullest, e.g., Waikiki walks, Ala Moana shopping center, etc. I always look forward for more of your walking videos. Btw, there was just one that I didn't like, and that is, one of your Waikiki walking video with music in the background. I didn't like the music, it ruined the walking video.
bmidel i hear you. It’s funny though those videos I get the most views but I agree with you. I would rather keep it natural and it’s a lot less work for me. Don’t worry I will keep it real and natural 😁👍. I appreciate your comments! Have a great day! Aloha 😁🤙🏽
Discover Odisha with Bharat thank you for watching! Yes I sometimes just walk and other times we talk too but, it depends. We really appreciate your support! Have a great day! Aloha =)

Jervisdude I hear you! The city acts like they can't legally do much. They keep doing sweeps and throwing there stuff away and making them move but, then a little while later they come back. I think they are trying to pass laws to make is harder for them to set up tents everywhere. They are still there though all over the place! Have a good day! Aloha =)

I dread walking down the street seeing shopping carts full of crap. If that is the new Waikiki this will be my last trip there. I’ll go to key west instead from now on. I just can’t stand it. It is bogus to be calling Hawaii an island paradise with that kind of shot going on.
Jervisdude if you stay in Waikiki you won't see the shopping carts. Most of the homeless that hang out in Waikiki hang out at some the covered table areas overlooking the beach but these people don't have much things with them. Lately I haven't seen too many in Waikiki. If you go outside of Waikiki like Kakaako, Stadium Park, Kakaako you'll see them. If you go to Chinatown you'll see a whole street of them by the stream. I hear your frustration, I feel it too. Hoping you're future trip you don't see too many homeless! I wouldn't want to. Have a great day! Aloha =)
