⭐⭐In this series of videos I embark on another adventure
Wainwright's Coast 2 Coast, I endure another blast from mother nature as I hike from St Bees on the Irish sea to Robin Hoods Bay on the other side of the country on the North Sea covering approximately 192 miles. I obviously walked more with filming and going the wrong way a couple of times.

I'm a keen hiker so decided to vlog my hikes when possible so I can look back on them later in life & for the family to see what I get up to:).

I've not been watching many vids lately Daz but I do enjoy yours, a proper account of a proper adventure. Your edditing is getting much better this was great Daz. No more complaining because we know you absolutely love it. I wish my knee was better 😫 All the best.

Thanks Dave im just winging it 🤣🤣 as you say I just show it as it is try to show the not so good bits also to give a proper account of the trail so many films out there just show how beautiful it is and people get the wrong idea its a tough hike especially if the weather is against you 😀 thanks again Dave atb daz

Happy Memories of my C2C in 1980 for my first trip across England with my 30KG pack and still camera, non digital in those days. Day One St Bees to Ennerdale YHA. Loved every minute of it and returned in 2000 for another visit with a lighter 25kg pack. I now relive my journey by watching others do the C2C. Good Luck with your C2C. Tony in Essex.

I too have watched many Coast to coast videos, but i'm sure this one will be up there with the best..As soon as i heard Wainwrights voice it sent a shiver down my spine...some good miles covered for day 1....oh and thanks for climbing Red pike for me...bring on day 2.

I did the C2C in 1992 and again in 1995. One of the best things I have ever done. I want to do it one more time, but take around 20 days. Hopefully in September, we will see. Take care.

Great viewing mate, looking forward to watching the following few days. With extra interest too as going to walk coast to coast in September. I've climbed Red Pike before and that killed me, despite it being the start of the day never mind after twenty miles 😊. Interesting comments about the pre-walk apprehension, I always get that too so glad I am not the only one! ATB, James.

That’s a long first day on the trail! Fab push at the end to get up red pike. I don’t think I would have made it that far, but looks a nice first camp spot. Great effort looking forward to day 2

Thanks Phil funny you should say that I was speaking to a rangers in the Dales and he said they are in the process of making it a national trail 👣 stick around and you will hear it from the horses mouth in a later vid . atb daz I noticed you were following my strata they was bits where it was all over the place trying to get through the bogs 🤣🤣

Living in Whitehaven, this is my stomping ground for walking. As you say, the clockwise path round Ennerdale is a little longer but technically much easier as it is a cinder path or forestry trail all the way. I have struggled up the same route to Red Pike and as I stood, huffing and puffing for air, admiring the sheer drop over to Buttermere, a young lady appeared, jogging on the spot next to me - she had just run up!!!! Was it so wrong that I thought about giving her a gentle push over the edge? Looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos - I go in Sept but taking the easy route (14 days, hotels, a guide, a group walk AND luggage transfers!!).

Oh what a pity I did not have access to todays Go-Pros when I did the C2C 44 years ago. BUT I doubt the scenery has changed that much. I was planning on joining the Army after I completed the hike and not tell my Instructors anything about it. One our first big Hike across Country one of my NCOs realise I took one look at the map and strode of a steady mile eating pace. After a hour or so he said why was I not looking at the map, I replied I march on a compass heading for a few hours then check a map, just as I had done when I hiked across the Country from the West Coast to the East Coast. He was quiet for a while then asked what I meant, he soon realise that I was very able to follow a compass heading without too much reference to a map and still get very close to the destination. His reaction to someone hiking 180 miles just for fun was unbelievable. I enjoy my time in the Army but did not stay long as I wanted to get back to longer hikes. That's a great story Tony it was a Great adventure for me also. I'm currently hiking across Switzerland on a Trail call Via Alpina 1 Swiss alpine pass route it's tough but so beautiful.
