To clear up confusion: The eeveelutions are based on Fennec foxes, rabbits, domesticated cats, and dogs so each one pulls more or less inspiration from these
The designer said it's supposed to be those common animals so people might be more inclined to like them cuz they can say they saw something like that irl or that it looks like a common pet shaped animal
I'm pretty sure that literally _is_ what they were paid for, assuming the cries were human voiced at any rate. 😂 VAs that specialize in animal noises can be so impressive though.
TBH, I always felt the Eeveelutions all felt like feline species, despite having some similarities with the likes of rabbits as well. Espeon, Umbreon, and Vaporeon look the most feline, and hearing Sylveon SOUND the most feline definitely makes this comparison stronger. Of course, with that...I now have to wonder if Penny is going to become the Pokémon World's equivalent to a "crazy cat lady" given her love of Eeveelutions.
@@dallor09 There are definitely some fox-like qualities as well. I think Jolteon and Flareon most likely resemble foxes. Still can't shake the cat comparison though...especially after seeing this vid of Sylveon's voice.
Maybe some are. Most of mine are boys and all named Jim. Jim 1, Jim 2, ect. They are my pokemon and I don't care about their personal lives as long as they are not out like murdering children, like driftloondriftloon

I loved how the cries in this game were so much more realistic, like sounds you'd hear an actual animal make- it just made the mons feel so much more alive
@@theforgottenjesterit's not actually supposed to be any particular animal. All eeveelutions pull inspiration from many different animals. Foxes, rabbits, dogs, cats... every interpretation of them is equally as valid, here!
I've been a sylveon lover since XY so seeing Sylveon sound like a cat makes my heart melt since Sylveon is my number 1 favorite pokemon and Im a major cat person 🥺
guys stop arguing about what Eevees are, they are THE normal type, they are everything you think of when you think of "normal animal". The eeveelutions are more based on elements than anything, while also looking like eevee.
I mean in the main games they usually make unholy screeches. Even the mascot Pikachu sounded like some dinosaur. So yeah, hearing cute animal sounds in the spin-offs are kinda shocking.
I'll be honest. Barring jolteon who is VERY canine like. And to some extent flareon as well. The eeveelutions are very catlike so Sylveon sounding like a cat doesn't shock me.
@SteampunkLlama a hare? I'll be honest...I don't see it but I might just be blind to that. Also. The most catlike eeveelution has to be espeon. But it also kinda reminds me of Ruby Carbuncle from YuGiOh GX. And it's the only pokemon to outright remind me of a yugioh monster as opposed to any real world inspiration or mythological 1.
Eeveelutions are supposed to be an amalgamation of different mammals like fennec foxes, rabbits, cats, and dogs. They all take aspects of them so you are right, they are very catlike.
@@kittiAngelOwO awww i thought something was up, i thought pokemon snap had new cries or smt but i guess not, seems like a lot of people have been tricked as well lmao
I'd like a mix between the saying names and more animal sounds. Also having different sounds. Like "send out" "defeated" "received supereffective damage" "critical hit"
Never thought I'd love Sylveon as much as Umbreon, but I do now that I heard new Pkmn Snap Sylveon sound *_EXACTLY LIKE ONE OF MY TWO LYKOI CATS, LOONA..._* No joke, as far as I'm concerned, this is the ability Cute Charm 200% at play bc it's now confirmed Canon that one only needs to be in earshot of this adorable Vulpine Bnuuy to become infatuated.
It is hilarious that Sylveon sounded like a cat in this game, but the others had it squeaky. Makes sense, considering all Eeveelutions resemble felines. My other favorite Eeveelution alongside Glaceon.
