It's deathcore, it's got a very small, very dedicated fan base. And then BOOM, this band is suddenly the most successful metal band of 2023. No one saw it coming. There is definitely a chorus on this one, so I'd say there is a song structure. I'm not a deathcore fan, but I've been a metalhead for 20+ years. And no, we can't catch all the lyrics either. We look them up, if we're interested. And with Lorna Shore, it's worth it. They elevated deathcore to a new level, musically and lyrically. Will Ramos has like one of the cutest personalities I've ever seen. When Elizabeth from the RU-vid channel Charismatic Voice asked him "how would you describe your vocal style", he said "I make monster noises" 😂 Now they're like best friends, he's on her channel all the time. He has his own channel as well, he does covers and reactions, but isn't very active on either 'cause he's so busy with the band.
@@kimgriffith1798 Oh yeah, that's hilarious! Pops on a wig and does reaction videos, on her channel. So, there's that as well. 😂 I feel like he's done as many videos cosplaying as Elizabeth as reactions on his own channel!
@@Soulja4ChristWeAreAtWar I seriously doubt that. She 8 years older than him, they grew up in different towns, he's half hispanic... There's even been some flirtatious jokes (the only one that comes to mind was by Elizabeth's husband, but anyway - they were staying in hotel rooms next to each other for the throat camera video project thing, and Will said something about "don't be alarmed if you hear strange noises coming from my room", I think he was talking about his vocal warm-ups. And the husband gasped like he was shocked and said "She's pregnant!" And they all laughed.)
"has anyone got confirmation he's not a demon" is the best reaction I've ever seen to this 😂😂. It's crazy cause he's one of the friendliest down to earth people
Now do the Pain Remains trilogy by Lorna shore (find the video that has the hardcoded lyrics, it's an absolute must to really get it). That will hit you right in the feels, I 100% guarantee it.
will is an awesome person. he can actually sing and rap while screaming. he chill as fuck and does a lot of projects he got up and coming around the time Ren did. i alwasy wanted them to colab
Lorna Shore's music makes me feel things. I always go through an emotional rollercoaster and its amazing. Metal that can make me cry.....its a beautiful thing.
Will’s screams and growls are unreal. But my favorite part was you being lost the whole way through until you made out the phrase “fuck it” as the only lyric you caught 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love your reactions sooo much. Thank you
Elizabeth from "The Charismatic Voice" talked Will Ramos (Singer of Lorna Shore) into letting a doctor put a camera down his throat while he is doing his thing. He also seems like a super nice guy that just happens to do Demon-Voices as a job.
Yo i already commented once but you said theres not much song structure... I would argue you tooth and nail there. I want to say, this is coming from a full fledged metal head, when this song came out, it took me a couple of times through before it actually clicked. If you say "i can vibe with this" dont sleep on it, listen to it again, and again. Eventually when it clicks this song is a fucking masterpiece of brutality, from front to back. But think of the song more in terms a classical piece with movements. Make sure to read the lyrics, if your a bar channel youll appreciate knowing the lyrics as you listen back to it, and just give it a few more times through, when it clicks, it quickly earns its place in the playlist lol.
If you want story, and lyrics check out their Pain Remains Trilogy. There is a video that has all 3 with the lyrics in them. It is an absolute masterpiece
HAHAHAHA, thanks for rolling with the punches. It's totally Gollum being tortured, if that's what you're hearing... WIll Ramos is doing his job. Really cool dude, watching him breakdown Falling In Reverse Live with Charismatic Voice was really dope. 🤘
If you think this is impressive, Will's live one take playthroughs of his songs demonstrate his voice leaves not much to the imagination without layers or filters. True talent ❤
The singer, Will Ramos, joined the band recently after their last singer got meetooed. As far as I know the guitarist is (co-)founder of the band an writes a lot of the songs. You gotta check out the Lyrics, they go deep and are very poetic. Back to Will, the Internets new favorite happy go lucky guy that can out scream literal daemons. He is BFF with Elisabeth (Charismatic Voice) and they even do reactions together. She even got him to go to a clinic and have a camera in his throat to see how he can make those sounds. You should check that out as well. As for recommendations: Their Love Ballad: " LORNA SHORE - Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames (OFFICIAL VIDEO)" - but get the Lyrics on a second screen or something to read along He is also doing Sleep Token Covers. My favorite is "Sleep Token - Chokehold Vocal Cover" And for a little fun, check out " Pain Remains Trilogy But It's All Singing " from Johnny Ciardullo who is also just a cool guy in general (Lead singer of Carcosa, another Deathcore band) Much love and go to sleep and don't stream randomly when Europeans go to lunch :p
I love that Will Ramos has been doing reaction and music breakdown stuff w/ The Charismatic Voice and Chris Liepe. All super talented folks in the industry.
your reaction was hilarious i love this song and it will go down in metal history, the lyrics are hard to understand but you can pick up some words keep up the awesome work and you rading the comments was hilarious
So glad you checked this out! You should watch Will Ramos do a cover of sleep tokens chokehold next, really shows the amazing abilities of Wills vocals 😊
The singer's name is Will Ramos. They use a pop structure (intro, verse 1, bridge, pre chorus, chorus verse 2 etc) but that can be hard to tell if you don't understand lyrics. Swallowed by the womb of death is part of the chorus. I usually need to watch a lyric video a few times to be able to understand the words. "Fucking gate" seems to be one set almost everyone gets. ( The song is about the process of dying and going to hell so fucking gate is referring to the gate of hell.)
Yeah it's kind of like understanding a new, thick accent. The more you listen to music like this, the easier it gets to understand it. These dudes are super neat and everyone's right, Will (lead singer) is one of the best musicians, let alone humans, I have had the pleasure of meeting. Ball of positive energy.
I mean that's literally it, goblin voice is essentially a Gollum impression with harsh vocals. Actually a lot harder to do than most people might realise. Laymen have absolutely no idea how incredibly talented Will is. One day you might be prepared for Nitheful.
4:12 - been listening to metal for nearly 20 years and I still don’t understand what most of my favourite singers are saying, unless I look up lyrics 😂
Will is such a cool dude!! The things he can do with his voice are just flat out amazing!! He's had cameras put in his throat in order to study how he makes this sounds! And it's simply amazing!
You have to watch Will's throat while he's doing this... The folds do shit that aren't normal! It's crazy! And the guy is so freaking nice, a bundle of joy! 😊
Yo, ive watched probably 100 reactions to this song at this point...yours might be my favorite, because its so clear off the rip, you didnt know what you were in for, but at each major break in the song you can see your gears turning, trying to figure out what it is your hearing. I havent finished the video yet, but you said your a bar breakdown channel so im hoping you sig into the lyrics before i get done with the video. You got thrown into the deep end, and you did great man!
KnoxH made comment a while back about metal and rap being perfect combo. So CliffB thanks for watching this and we are going to hold you to reacting to a metal song at least once a month from now on Yes 🤘
I love that WTF look on your face when the chorus hits. I see folks say animal with vocals, I hear a visual sound for one going into hell. Instead of a pig sound at the end I see it more as the sound of torture as you enter the flames. FANTASTIC song, awesome reaction👍
Never realized you do this style of music at request. I'd love to see you do something like Thrice (Only Us, Stay With Me, The Long Defeat), Brand New's Limousine, Glassjaw's Trailer Park Jesus, Letlive's Muther, or La Dispute's King Park. Lyrically they're some of the most gripping bands I know and I know you appreciate good lyricism. They aren't the most popular bands but lyrically those bands do something that not many do in how they create such striking lyrics. Deathcore is cool. I still listen to Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Emmure (Lol), and After the Burial from time to time. I found Lorna Shore a bit too late after I got into the genre and was listening to other stuff. But yeah, you cover some heavy hitters in rap lyricism so I'd love to see you do the same in Post hardcore
The lead singer Will Ramos is also a fellow RU-vidr and reactor! Such a great guy, and funny too! As someone said, he’s a golden retriever and just happy to be here lol.
I've never been more genuine in saying you NEED TO do the one take vocal of this song... along with going and watching anything with Will! His sleep taken covers are later down the road... but stuff with him and the charismatic voice... the throat scope vid shows how funny the kid is!!!!
When I first heard this over a year ago, I fell in love with the band. When I got exposed to Will’s sweet and funny personality, it was a done deal. Just take my money. Also, Dickie Allen influenced the pig squeal in the final breakdown . They needed something to fill the space. Will did one pig squeal, and the guys were like DO THAT THREE MORE times, and the rest was history. (Info from interview with Will Ramos.)
this song is to metal what speedom by tech9 is to rap imho. also to answer the question about being able to understand it; it is much like rap once you get an ear for it becomes easier but you will still have certain bands or songs that are harder to understand. my recommendation for a follow up would be for you to check out the one take performance and to pull up the lyrics since you like bars. will ramos is a very talented writer and vocalist. have a wonderful day.
And this is part of a Trilogy by itself it'd good. Played as Entire Trilogy its Extraordinary! The full is uploaded by Omnicon. And it's been kept up by Lorna Shore.
Gotta follow along with the lyrics when dabbling in Deathcore... At least the first time you listen. Once you read it and hear it, you can't unhear it. After a while can start to make it out. Love Lorna Shore and each band member are beasts in their own right.
glad to see you are diving into the Lorna Shore rabbit hole. I've seen a few other comments recommend the Pain Remains trilogy and I cannot agree more. 3 songs that when played in succession create a 20 min masterpiece. Words that have been used to describe it include: emotional, ballad, poetic, masterpiece; all are true imo. Knox reviewed part 1 if you want to reach out to him on a good way view videos from this band.
You should check out Archspire- golden mouth of ruin. You still might not understand what they are saying but I think you will appreciate the way the vocalist can flow his scream to the beat of the insane drumming
Will Ramos is one of the most talented singers out there. Dont let the screams and growls fool you. He has a beautiful voice when he is doing his solo stuff. Check out some of his solo covers. You will understand
