out of all the songs in the musical this one is the one that sounds the most complete without the main song to go with it. even without the lyric you have a decent idea of what this song is about.

This and Alexander Hamilton with the backing vocals are some of the best I have come across. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more they are a pleasure to sing along to!
That's a very common hook in almost all modern musicals dating all the way back to at least les mis probably before that too. Alexander Hamilton intro and guns and ships,.... same
This is super old but the baseline here is the chord progression (I-vi-iii) that occurs in the beginning of "Aaron Burr, Sir" as well, just in a different key, and being solid chords instead. It's a very incomplete, unsure progression, and the way it brings us back to I is unsettling at best since the iii chord does NOT work well in cadences. It really does fit Burr's character.
@@mimmzymaina9522 Said baseline seems to have appeared in only Burr-centric songs, so I've been trying to figure out the chords in his other songs. For "The Room Where It Happens"... what I've gotten is that it's definitely in A minor (though its beginning is a bunch of riffs in other keys, which made it a bit hard to figure out what key it was in at first until the baseline hit as Alexander said "Talk less, smile more". Tbh I could've just skipped to that A minor chord at the end but whatever lmao.) That doesn't work with the progression since it requires the song to be in a major key (I think), and it never switches to one, as far as I can tell. Interesting, how it breaks the pattern as in "The Room Where It Happens", Burr realizes that he can't wait for it anymore (which was the frequent theme whenever the I-vi-iii progression played) and needs to seize his chances. He is completely done with waiting by "Your Obedient Servant". The song kicks off in D minor, but as soon as those violins(?) come in on "I have the honor to be your obedient servant", it changes to F major, in which the progression is possible... but yeah, no, Burr's patience finally gave way (rightfully, tbh. Had I been in his place, I would've shot Hamilton in Act One). The one thing is, it does make a small reappearance in "The World Was Wide Enough", but only after he's killed Hamilton, when we see the results of... Burr being Burr and the way all his actions have led up to this. So... yeah, there's my TED talk, I guess. This video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BK42FerFetg.html) helped a lot and I never would've actually found the progression's existence in the first place had I not watched it a while back. I just recently became curious to see if it appeared in Burr's other Act Two songs that it didn't mention. I definitely looked way too deep into this. I'm so sorry for the long ass, confusing comment, especially if you don't really know music theory. On the ofher hand, if you do, I guess you might've already known all this 💀 anyway, I'm no musical genius so don't take this seriously.

The doctor writes me a letter everyday, Been bed bound and he’s off to gallifrey, I’m in this time loop forever, Angels keep pushing me back Well they can do that whenever, If Rory’s next... to me. Time doesn’t discriminate, Between the sinners and the saints, It takes and it takes and it takes, And we keep living anyway, We laugh and we cry, And we break and we make our mistakes, And if there’s a reason we waited in time when others wouldn’t try, I’m ready to wait for it, I’ve already wait for it. I was young when doctor and me both met, He said he’d come back and pick me up but yet, It was 15 years later, When he saw me again, A little bit of travelling, And our friendship began. I am the one thing in life i can control, I’m the girl who waited, I’m the original, I’m not falling behind or running late, I can not stay still, I’m travelling in faith, The doctor faces an endless uphill climb, He has something to prove, he had nothing to lose, The doctors pace is relentless he waits no time. What about Rory? Rory never hesitated, He exhibit no restraint, while he waited and he waited and he waited, And I was in the pandorica, He stayed by my side, waiting next to me all the time And if there’s a reason that we’re together when we’ve been through so much Then I’m willing to Stay for it.

Some one on another video pointed this out and I thought it was really cool, but on 0:30 when the piano starts, that’s the piano thing for burn and I thought that was interesting also around 1:40 it sounds like the very beginning of burn

Death doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints It takes and it takes and it takes And we keep living anyway. We rise and we fall and we break And we make our mistakes. And if there's a reason I'm still alive When everyone who loves me has died I'm willing to wait for it. I'm willing to wait for it. Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it I am the one thing in life I can control Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it I am inimitable I am an original Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it I'm not falling behind or running late Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it Wait for it I'm not standing still I am lying in wait Wait Wait Wait Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb Climb Climb Climb He has something to prove he has nothing to lose Lose Lose Lose Lose Hamilton's pace is relentless He wastes no time Time Time Time What is it like in his shoes? Hamilton doesn't hesitate. He exhibits no restraint. He takes and he takes and he takes And he keeps winning anyway. He changes the game. He plays and he raises the stakes. And if there's a reason He seems to thrive when so few survive Then Goddamnit I'm willing to wait for it. I'm willing to wait for it... I'm willing to wait for it... Life doesn't discriminate Between the sinners and the saints It takes and it takes and it takes. And we keep living anyway We rise and we fall and we break We fall and we make our mistakes. And if there's a reason I'm still alive When so many have died Then I'm willin' to- then I'm willin' to- Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait...
