I‘m sorry to disappoint but rainbolt has hostes many tournaments himself and played in them all against exactly these people and he‘s good and he won some games and even tournaments but he‘s not dominant.

Well, no this isnt the first Geoguessr World championship. The year prior AntoineDaniel organised his own world cup, but the devs didnt want to sponsor the event, but approved it nonetheless. Even Rainbolt said he considered this Worldcup to be the second one, he said this one is the first "Officially sponsored" one tho.

Rainbolt is good, but he doesn't play much anymore and most of the players are much better than him at guessing locations precisely. Rainbolt's probably the best or one of the best at geoguessr with random filters on like 0.01 seconds but he doesn't really stand a chance at more vanilla modes.
