quick update on deckbuilding: i've cut the I:P and knightmare package entirely in favor of a small zeus package of 1 downerd 1 sky cav as well as a copy of hope harbinger for fringe lines post side. i kept finding myself in situations where i had rios + another monster but no tiles in grave, so i figured if i used rios to mill najasho and make 2 monsters into level 2s that lined up perfectly for basically everything i needed. it made zues to clear large threats, gave me a way to get tiles into rotation in weird hands and let me make a 4 mat zeus while also setting up any topdecked phorises (phori?) for huge plays by reborning the najasho for evo force to sac. hope harbinger is there because post side i can bring in dogoran and mill it with rios to get 2 level 8s.
as for why i cut the knightmares and I:P specifically, i included phoenix as a way to start clearing the path for my guys into backrow but then i realized that i never have enough guys to make it before meaningfully commiting, and the times i wanted to make I:P was when i wanted to link off animadorned archosaur and something else but then i wouldnt have enough non-dinos for pill to be live. i cut unicorn because without I:P it was just really lackluster
To help decide the question you pose at 1:20 of "Should I do Rebellion Dragon or Utopia the Lightning package?": Unless I'm missing something, those packages actually don't do the same thing because you can't make Zeus with Utopia the Lightning since it can't be used as an Xyz material. If you want to punch over a big monster and have follow-up on opponent's turn, you have to use Dark Rebellion. Although, thinking about it now, the problem is Rebellion can't punch over unaffected or untargetable monsters (unless it can gain ample atk from somewhere else), and even if it could, it can't beat Avramax, and a lot of the really large beaters are unaffected by card effects. Maybe it would be best to use Lightning and then just throw in the newly revealed S:P Little Night as your follow-up. Little Night is pretty insane for how generic and low cost it is.
It's already been decided, another comment pointed out that lightning can't be used for an xyz summon and after testing I realized the xyz dragon package wasn't as versatile as the downerd sky cav stuff so I'm on that instead
I just take out the pill package with 2 elias, cerato and another evo force due you want to spam lios as much as possible. Consider using gozen match too like tellars and marincess uses to deal with preventing big bodies to exist
Okay so im losing my mind because the evol cards are so cool and i want to fit them into dinos bc a searchable trap card is all i need since your boards going first are already strong but you cant beat dark ruler, and while you dont exaclty beat it, you can still summon something afterwards to not completely lose. its a bit of a puzzle but megachi is probably the best starter and rios dumping misc is amazing, these cards ready crazy
Reason to run Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon over Utopia for getting over big guys is Megachirelia, it's GY effect to attach 2 works on Dark Rebellion because its a Dragon XYZ, and Dark Rebellion actually isn't a Once Per Turn, so you could possibly get 2 activations of it in one turn. It's corner case and not really too good but it is extremely funny.
i have but elginero isnt very good and the targets for beta pill arent really better than the targets of double pill. personally ive cut double evo pill for the simple reason of it being too many garnets for my taste. my current line is sending misc to summon jurrac aeolo from deck to make Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf so singularity can add back some resources
