Bellular keeps suggesting that Neltharion only started to hear the whispers later. However, concluding chapters of Dawn of the Aspects clearly suggest the whispers started much earlier; about just after Galakrond defeat.
I hope emerald dream and red/green flight will be more important for the future of wow than just a side story. Just like blizzard teased so many years Light vs Death, it would be much more interesting to see Life as the ultimate oponent of the Void
@@ChinnuWoW they may be opposites but Death always had a very visible beef with the Light. Like Paldins vs Death Knights, Jailer attempt to control Anduin ect. Void, on the other hand, has always wanted to corrupt Life and Emerald dream. In the lore we see many examples that opposite forces must to live in balance, otherwise they will fall apart. so Light vs Void war is not a best idea form them
Much of Neltharion's experimentation relied on power transference and recombination. I believe the void lord Xalatath was chained here and siphoned to create shadowflame. After that, he imprisoned her in the blade for safekeeping.
I hold that the Emerald Dream is basically Azeroth's AT Field that is essentially the power of azeroth's soul and will bent to keep the void and any other corrupting forces 'spiritually' at bay
Cosmic void makes me think of, in real life, the theorized "dark energy" of our own physical universe. The space in between of which *_nothing_* exists, yet its presence is speeding our universe's expansion. This cosmic void might be the very same thing. But because this is Warcraft, things lurk in this expanse of absolute nothingness, speeding along the process of the Warcraft universe's literal expansion. This cosmic void might be speeding things along to its respective universe's big rip. Which is a theory for our own universe's end where everything, being so far away from one another, loses the ability to maintain gravity. After that, everything just disintegrates. That might be what could happen to Azeroth soon, if we don't re-correct course to a big crunch instead.
The Voice of the Silent Star cloak is even whispering to you as player everytime you get power from it, calling you special, "his" champion and so on... did i just sold my sanity for MORE CRIT
Is the Echo of Neltharion the only NPC related to void (not by experiments) in the whole cavern? Any rare or something is also a void entity or just him? It seems weird that we have a big portal to the void but nobody from there, just one Mindless One.
An'shuul is a Cthaxxi word. When you go back to Dragon Soul, and fight against the two Faceless Ones, they act as Rosetta Stones. "An' " means "Death".
It was put there by the same void etherial who oversees the "Trial of Style" event. Maybe not such a bad way to observe the mortals of Azeroth... see what they're working with before making a move.
I feel that both light and void are the big bads, they are too extreme on their alignment/motivations. Either all consuming chaos and destruction, or all consuming ego destroying order.
We also still have that piece of untranslated text that wrathion handed over to us at the beginning of the current patches campaign, i feel whatever is written in it is gonna be something major if we havent actually been able to translate it this patch
How y'all think this is boring? All of this sounds incredible to me!! Danuser is slow building to something big and I think he's doing a good job. I'm so excited!
The Void is all consuming and can only stay in our realm indefinitely but consuming something of great power... Unborn Titans. We have time travel, we have star ships, Illidan is able to rip worm holes in space to other planets, mage can open portals to other dimensions. The future of the game is the new islands aren't islands, they are planets! We saw this concept on Argus as a side quest. We saw the truth in The Nighthold. I've been saying this for a decade but NOOOOO... Let's leave Argus to fight over stupid islands in Battle for Azeroth and go to the Shadow Lands because... who cares it sucked! We are way past do for a Cosmic Warcraft, protecting new planets, and becoming the what the titans truly intended, the protecters of the Universe.
If you look at the room closely, it's very unlikely something was chained there. No chain is "open" - they all just connect the pillars and are just linked to each other. There is no 'broken' chain that indicates something was chained down there. I dont know if you made the camera angle in your video on purpose like it was something chained, but if you look at the room from a different angle it becomes obvious the chains just connect the pillars.
I find basic void = space pretty boring actually. I want the lovecraftian tentacle stuff still. And imo I think both ideas should be intertwined - when the old god lovecraftian tentacle stuff appears, that means the spacey void has really started manifesting. Like the more organic old god stuff is what happens when the void manifests in the reality plane that Azeroth resides. On its own in its own plane, void = the more cosmic spacey theme.
I think they need to revisit the classic old god aesthetic or take some inspiration from BloodBorne to make the Void interesting because swapping green space magic with purple space magic just isn't going to be compelling. Make the Void more unique in it's visual design.
Blizzard should get all their storywriters together and watch the South Park Episode s5e8 "Towelie". We just want to play the game, not get caught up in their massive quagmire of "what's REALLY going on"
I hope they keep Void in the b-plot just long enough that you can feel it creeping up into power constantly, keeps getting stronger because we have more important matters to attent to right up until it is almost too late. It fits the sense of creeping whispers and manipulation and it creates a slow burn
You'd think at some point early on, Neltharion might've told the others (or even just Tyr) 'hey there's some weird whispery shit going on down here maybe we should investigate?'
Everything I've seen has portrayed him as secretive & headstrong even before he was corrupted. Asking for help doesn't seem to have ever been in his character.
I haven't played World of Warcraft in years, but I love these story videos. After all the WoW Story has still some interesting mysteries I am eager to discover.
I hope the comment I read on a T&E video isn't true. There is some speculation that the thing chained up down in the Edge of the Void is the Faceless One that took Neltharion's shape.
Haven’t we actually seen a memory of the void itself and it’s forces directly attacking. There’s a quest line in Shadowlands where you are rexperienciny a memory where the Void is attacking Bastion
We all know N'zoth took credit for Deathwing and actively aided him during Cataclysm, but this implies the Void itself influenced Neltharion in Aberrus. It's very likely a Void Lord was kept imprisoned there. Could have been Xal'atath, or something else.
It's very unlikely a real "Void Lord" was kept prison in Azeroth. Getting to Azeroth is EVERYTHING the Void Lords want, because they can't do that and therefore send out the Old Gods. When a Void Lord was already on Azeroth - I'm pretty sure we would have heard about it, because Azeroth would be done for.
14:00 you are correct it does not look like a titan facility, and i prayed i would never say this name again but. it kinda looks like a cross between the shadowlands necro/venthyr covenants. the deep reds with burnt gold accented by a plague green hue from incubation chambers. gosh i hope its just a coincidence and they dont find a way to revive ANYTHING from that xpac.
This "Cosmic Void" as you've been calling it, is simply The Void. The same Void that is behind the Old Gods. This isn't some new thing. The assets are new, but that's due to updated art assets, not some new form of magic. Most Void magic we've seen has looked too similar to Shadow, which is a lesser tier of Void magic. The new assets are merely Blizzard updated the visuals to differentiate the two more. The Old Gods are servants of the Void Lords. Nothing has changed in that regard. The Old Gods fight amongst themselves, because that is their design. The Void Lords likely fight amongst themselves as well. But they still work towards the same goal of Void domination of Reality. Idk why people keep trying to twist the lore into something it's not. I know Zovaal and the SL were whiplash to a lot of you, but we're always going to get recontextualizations as time goes on, and the lore expands. This is not one of them, however.
It's specifically stated in Neltharion's voice recordings that he left Aberrus behind. Everything in the game spells it out. He did not return there during the second war. The proto-dracthyr we see in Aberrus are also specifically stated to be earlier versions, not later versions. Does the Bellular team even open the actual game anymore?
We've already gone back to the dream. We've already been back to that void flower, which had grown into tendrils during that void invasion. We were there when the Primalists invaded. And the void seed that lingered and hatched has been dealt with. That place is purified now. I predict no Void in 10.2.
So you’re telling me death wing successfully made a fusion of the flights probably thousands of years ago by himself in secret but couldn’t get even close to doing it again later on with the chromatic flight which was a huge failure?
Wait… did the titans uplift the dragons after the curse of flesh? Either way… why wouldn’t the aspect take the form of Vrykul or some other titan-made race?
The aspects can take any form they choose (hence Neltharion making himself look like an orc) -- the visage forms we see today aren't necessarily what they've always been using. That said, yeah -- the origin of protodragons is still shrounded in mystery. The current idea is that protodragons came from elementals... & we know the elemental lords served the Old Gods for millennia before the Titans showed up. So I'd say your instincts are probably good -- like humans, gnomes, & dwarves, dragons may also be a result of mixing void & arcane magical influence.
No the real bad guys are behind the void.... No the real bad guys are behind the guys behind the guys in the void.... No there's really a bigger baddie... I can write like blizz too😅
I still can't believe people are bagging so much on that glaive lmao emeralddreamoutdoor refers to its style 'emerald dream' and its acquisition 'outdoor content' The sword would be a more reliable piece of proof if it was called zaralekcavernoutdoor lol
I’m not convinced the old gods are even void creatures. They seem to have nothing in common with the void. Even when they refer to the void lords they say “the” masters. Not “my” master or “our” masters. Saying “the” masters could simply mean the old gods recognize that the void lords have mastered something. Probably void magic. It’s possible the old gods found void magic and started to use it, and the void lords are the masters of that magic. But I don’t think old gods are inherently void creatures
Even though lore wise the old gods were made by thd void lords but its only recent stuff tht suggest the old gods do their own thing and arent entirely inline with the void lords
@@MCcrepperify Yes, but current lore is the only relevant lore considering how often they retcon those old stories. The old lore can be used as a reference to what comes next, but it’s not written in stone. The current lore is more accurate for speculation than old lore is
@@MCcrepperify Not to mention the way blizz treats the old lore. It’s more in universe rather than out. Meaning we could have old lore written by someone in game who didn’t have all the info, and the new lore would be more like the truth rather than someone’s interpretation of the truth.
Right, but we make the islands other worlds we have to save to stop the void from reaching Azeroth. Yes, it's just more island but it completely opens up the universe of Warcraft to infinite possibilities
As cool as this is, it's all headcanon. Blizzard didn't bother telling the story described in this video because since the RTO orders, Dragonflight content has started to diminish in quality, both in concept and execution. I hope they find their footing quickly because the bungles in 10.1's plot are very tangible. I'm a little sad you had to explain the nuances here, because I know a lot of players would have missed it.
I mean, eventually. So far, the overwhelming majority of evidence points towards the next expansion being pirate or new world expedition themed (probably with some void stuff sprinkled in, of course).
none of this matters AT ALL because they will just invent another layer to the onion. there is never a final layer where you can go OKAY THIS IS FINAL TRUE REAL BIG BAD BOSS OF THE UNIVERSE, there is always someone above
I have nothing but active contempt for the wow cosmology. 20+ years of this world and I arguably know less about certain aspects of it (the light in particular) than I did at WoWs launch. Nobody with functioning neurons should be giving the used toilet paper of a seting this much benifit of the doubt. Blizzard once again just jerked the player around. Going into deathwings lab specifically for answers only to be told "lol there arent any" shows active contempt for the players intelligence. Lets ignore how much deathwing having access to the dragon isles and an active and unattended portal to the void actively destroy cannon too. Frankly, I dont care about all this cosmic set up because I stopped being able to care about the world. Besides with how actively awful and unmoral shadowlands made the universe I actively look forward to how getting actual answers about the void makes people hate the setting even more. Maybe itll get bad enough theyll finally replace the awful narative team.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around going to the land of the dead and watching the inhabitants get killed. Do they go to the super shadowlands?! Why are they having trouble breathing? Breathing is a thing that living people do!
So we will get one cosmic adventure every other expansion. Void lord next then come home more has changed more than likely light war vs everyone else’s which will lead to the light cosmic battle then come back home battle for gill go to say life to find a permanent cure for werewolf disease etc
The Void, or empty nothingness in other words, being the ultimate evil of Warcraft (even more ultimate than the previous ultimate villain!) would actually fit perfectly, for me at least Because that is exactly what my faith in Blizzard's cosmic level writing is: empty nothingness
It seems they deconstruct the whole cosmic forces thing. Which is good since it was too artificial - void being just one element is not very realistic because it then cannot fill its role as the anti-part, the result of chaos/entropy - the absence of potential energy. The pre- Chronicles state was "the void as outside-cosmos force was jealous of the titans capability to directly form the universe hence they send the old gods". Guess they are changing that now by dwarfing the titans + their element and also removing the "that's why they send old gods" thing. They also seem to break the off-limit "outer cosmos" plane of void and include it into the universe. Which also makes sense because it's more realistic. I wonder if that will also change Azeroths role. A huge portal into "the real void plane" was open all the time. Doesn't look like some "get your hands on Azeroth and gg"-thing anymore. Which is also good. That narrative was annoying as fuck imo. Well I'm curious where they are going. Sadly I won't play the game anymore (quit early SL and cannot get back into it somehow) but surely watch Bellulars lore videos.
They’re not dumb, they’re the chromatic flight made thousands of years ago then forgotten then deathwing forgot how he made them so he made the chromatic flight and failed miserably!
