Jocelyn, please eat regularly. Food is energy and we can’t have you getting hangry or worse, getting sick. You take care of your family and business and you keep us informed and entertained. What would we do without you! 🥺💗
Juliette really loved that easel, you can see that immediately! I love that she has been into drawing and I see she is quite good in it! It’s a shame you didn’t get the not priced stuff but you find so much good items almost every day.🙏🏻🥰
I still enjoyed the adventure. I’m sorry things ended up that way, things happen for a reason and I guess the kids were supposed to have a brand new easel. I appreciate your thoughtfulness toward the checker, although she had to price check anyway. I always grab a package of peanut butter crackers out of my pantry to take with me if I know I will be out for a long time. You are an exemplary model of excellent work ethics, hard working, ambitious and HONEST! Love you girl. Please tell Sis I really do like her artwork.
Love your videos, stories, children and everything you do. On a side note I always put a healthy snack or two and a small water in my purse because when I'm out for hours I start to get hungry but font want to eat fast food. So, an apple, banana, nuts, fruit bar or anything quick tales the edge of hunger off until I get home. Take care. ❤
Seeing the man walk out with the stuff you were waiting on to get priced would've gotten to me also ! But you did the right thing..So good to see your daughter enjoying her easel !! What a good mom you are !!
What I like about you is you are "real". Ish happens. Some days we have our moods--- for any number of reasons. But yes, please take care of yourself a wee bit better, okay? I'm old enough to be your mom so my motherly instincts are kicking in! Blessings to you!
It would have been nice if the manager came to the cashier. That way the manager could have seen how often this happens and would remind the people in the back to make sure all items are priced.
You are right. However; am thinking the manager may well be the reason the stuff is not getting priced. My dad had a store and he was always up around the the front part of the store checking things out. Makinf sure tge stuff was getting done. Like shelves dusted off, window displays being taken care of. Doors and windows cleaned. Bunch of little stuff that is veery important to a businesses immage.
This Goodwill must have had some crazy loud music for Jocelyn to have to do a voice-over. Either way, this was a wonderful video. It was nice of you to think about the cashier. I do the same thing. I always get stressed for the person helping me if I require any additional time for anything. I always apologize, etc. My friends tell me I’m too nice, but I think it’s a good way to be. Thank you for sharing, Jocelyn! ❤
Not sure if you’ll see this but I was at Antique Sledworks in Duncannon this past weekend. They are closing their doors in December and many of the vendors have great discounts. You might want to check it out if you are able. Hope to see you “in the wild” again sometime.
My 2 granddaughters have the exact same easel. They both love using it all the time! Your girls will get a lot of enjoyment from it! Glad to see Juliet has already begun! Some days are just that way in regards to your shopping.
I found that same easel at my goodwill and set it up for my 2 year old granddaughter. It is her favorite thing ever. She thinks she drawing masterpieces and Grammy agrees! 😊
ok I am opening a can of worms - when you have items not priced go to the stock room door and ask them to price them for you - they give you a better price than waiting for the cashier. that way you can deside before you check out. our Goodwills will not price at register no price to bad so sad I've learned to just ask someone on the floor or go to stock room door.
Walking away was the right thing to do. Goodwill, value village etc up here in Canada have self checkouts, garbage priced at double retail that’s broken or not priced and no one to give you one or they double it for asking. I love the easel and it came with all the goodies..and can last several kids and then be resold. Your time Jocelyn is precious!
I love those dolls for my little granddaughter. They’re usually pretty good price and well made. She can just wallow them and throw them around and doesn’t hurt them at all. End of the day just chunk them and you haven’t lost anything!👍
Love the videos, Jocelyn! I’ve literally been sitting & waiting for today’s video to pop up! I was watching one of your videos from last year….. and it did! Yay! Sending you love & positive vibes from the coast of South Carolina!! 💜💜💜
I understand 👍 about the items you left. There will always be more fantastic treasures 🤑 💰 to find !!! You be you. We love you just the way you are 😊🤗❤ The whole video was worth watching just to see Juliette's beautiful 😍 🤩 smile 😃 😊 🙌🙏
Well at least you found a new store to visit again… I can understand your frustration, and the poor cashier had no help! Please take care of yourself!❤️. Melissa & Doug is awesome, well made and lasts forever
Why are these Goodwill prices so crazy?!?! I don't think I'd go back to that one but it seems like they're getting greedy too. You are so patient. Too patient. You could put the easel away for a Christmas present for Sis.
Ahhh, finally the video with the rabbit that's too weird for Jocelyn! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Honestly, I love him! ❤ He's got character, strange character, but still character! Thank you for sharing. Sorry things didn't go as planned for you this time, but, hey....I think we all have those kinds of days.
Oh my CLL sorry for the problem you had at checkout! The days that I go to Goodwill I'm bad I grab a coffee and rush to the Goodwill usually hit a couple of them and I don't eat I end up most of the day not eating I get in to looking and looking and the day fly's by!! I don't like it if I have something without a price and I get a cashier that says I'm sorry but I can't sell this it has to go back through processing and sometimes it's a item I really wanted so bad!!! Oh well! It is what it is!!!
The German cups are from wine tastings. I have several from wine tastings when I lived there. I use mine at work to hold paper clips an other items on my desk.
You could spend all day thtifting in Lebanon County. 2 Goodwill stores; Humane Society Thrift Shop; Salvation Army; 5 Jubilee stores and Blue Mountain Thrift Shop. I may have missed some.
Hey Jocelyn, I agree, don’t sweat the small stuff! You have plenty at the shop to flip! I’m so looking forward to when your shop becomes a store. That will be so much fun! Nevertheless, I love watching your thrifting and I love watching your antiquing. As we all know, some Goodwills have lost their minds with pricing. I just love when you pick up an item and put it back, it doesn’t get a spot in the cart! As a newbie, thank you for the reminder, you can find a great vintage item that just no longer has the value that it did maybe 5-10 years ago. I should know, I’m recently retired, but remember some of my favorite vintage and antique items that I now look at with amazement that can be picked up so cheap, which means little or no profit! Now, lastly, I know I’m not your Mom, but a small snack of pistachios in a ziplock can save you if you don’t get the chance to eat. It’ll help with the hangeries! Thanks for everything Jocelyn!
J! When you said the Total sPend was zero, I thought you meant that someone ahead of you, or someone behind you Paid for your Stuff! Why didn’t you purchase the items that did have a price tag? Thought the easel was $12.99. ....i feel like the Ant in A Bug’s Life when the leaf dropped in front of him. I’m LOST!! Lol. Sending Love
Hi Love Your Videos! I loved when you had the actual sound though! It sounds like you are in a soundproof studio now! Watch you everyday and learn so much!
Juliette is very artistic! She looked happy with the easel. I thought Ashton had gotten his braces off, and I saw in another comment that he has. Loved your video, even though you left everything behind. Some days are like that!
Loving your channel! I am a vendor at The Nest in Palmyra PA! So I was extra thrilled to see this video. Finally someone close to home thrifting! Prices here in PA thrift shops are a bit high don't you think? I see thrifters in other states getting fabulous bargains and it's no so easy here.
Yellow is the 1/2 price color for our local goodwills this week, always a bonus if the pricing is unreasonable. I got a couple pieces I would not have picked up. Plus an additional 10% off for senior discount
My Goodwill doesn’t combine the senior discount which is 25% with the discount for tag color of the week which is 50%. You have to choose and it applies to your whole cart. On senior day you have to calculate which choice will yield the bigger savings on the whole cart. I’ve never tried going through the line twice.
Awe how heartbreaking; but I’ve been there and have done the same thing! It’s frustrating for everyone. I now ask them for pricing before I even go up to the register. The lion lamp was awesome! 🦩💕
How frustrating for you. I used to keep snacks in my “mom bag” for when I “forgot” to eat. Now the children are grown, I forget to carry snacks. Nuts are a great little carry along snack. Take care of yourself. We love your videos!
I remember you saying that voice overs took time like triple the time! Thank you so much for considering the individuals that asked before because of the loud music. For me I personally don’t mind that background sounds but I understand that there’s copyright issues in the fine print of RU-vid. Just wanted to say I love your videos and bet it takes SO much work ❤
That dirty lamp is called a flycatcher. Because the insects attracted to the light ended there. Typical art deco form. There are quite funky forms and colors out there. Affordable, not very popular. Essential for every art deco interior. I have two. One green and one brownish / marbled.
I collect insulators so had to make a comment here -- the telephone line insulator at 13:37 is a McLAUGHLIN No. 20 (classed under the "CD 164" shape in price guides) and was made by McLaughlin Glass Company of Vernon, CA (now part of Los Angeles) - dating from 1920-1935. Looks like a typical light 'sage green' shade - average market value for that specific type is around 5-10 dollars. So even though it would be a good price for a collector, not worth buying if for resale!! A little weird it showed up in PA (most McLaughlins were installed in the western states), although my guess is that it was donated by a collector who had bought it at an insulator collector show & sale, or perhaps online.
Thanks so much for the input! I love learning about new things! I figured it was a common one-glad I was right about that at least. My friend pulled a purple, thread-less one out of the Susquehanna River. That one was pretty neat.
Juliette’s smile is contagious. 💜 “Fish doing Yoga” Lol!! Love the Cats,Lobster dish, blue pitcher set. That Rabbit reminds me of the stuff on “Five Nights at Freddy’s”😬 Poor Ashton. I hope he got his tooth fixed and you have to make sure you get your meals. You do so much you need food for energy.💜
I love everyone of your videos… So sorry you had to pass on the lion lamp and shade that shade was gorgeous but the goodwill needs to make sure their items are priced… I understand that prices can disappear on things and that is no one’s fault but come on… Thank you for all the information and enjoyment that you gives us… Bless you and your family… 💕
I know you also shop auctions and antique stores but I'm curious if you ever try thrift stores (maybe cheaper?) besides Goodwill. The Goodwill's in my area are thankfully still fairly reasonable but I also go to other thrift stores as well.
Are you planing to get Juliette some art classes? Not sure, but thought that i read somewhere that several artest studied with other great artist before becoming great themselves. But at least you bought the easel for her. Will you be revisiting that store again? Lol. Did think ir waa great that tou did the shopping for that other person. Shows you can still pick out stuff other people will buy too. Thank you for sharing. God bless
Whenever I have something with no price, Before I get in line I go find someone and ask them to get it priced. The stockers or sometimes there is a higher up having a little meeting, I I will politely ask if I could get a price. Never get in line.
What am I missing? Didn't you buy the items that were already priced and just leave the two that were not? Sorry how it turned out. P.S. I always have almonds in a baggie in my car. And maybe granola bites. Ya never know when hunger will strike! :-)
The solar powered owl absorbs sunlight during the day, the emits a soft glow at night. Best outdoors, obviously! Sorry you didn’t get the lion, but sometimes it’s just time to get out of a thrift store, and the new easel is nicer anyway.
cup of lentills and water to almost top carrots zucchini curry 1/2 tsp each turmeric 1 bay leaf in a small rice cooker with a splash of crushed tomato and generous olive oil serve soupy with steamed jasmin rice and bragg soy sauce reheats ez everything you may microwave could be more safely reheated in this manner babies’ first 🎄 christmas congratulations!🎊
The microwave looked like mine. It’s a toaster on the other side. Pull out the door two slices fit. Love it would never trade it. It’s getting old but once it dies I am searching for another. Yes I have a toaster oven but this is simple and fast.
I realize that most of the stuff at my local Goodwill’s in thrift stores is pretty much junk so I have now started doing estate sales for most of my sourcing
I've been dealing with the no price tag issue in Goodwill too. Also, sometimes the barcodes aren't scanning and then they have to go to some nebulous region to reprint a tag while the line builds up! Shopping there is getting really frustrating. (Jeff's wife)
Beware of used microwaves, one bit of metal from tea bags, aluminum etc can leave a break in the seal that emits microwaves outwards and if you like to stand in front of the microwave while cooking , it can cook you instead of just food.
