Gig workers aren't valued because the "tables have turned", when the company is starting out they need the people, so of course they're going to come correct but once a bunch of people get on they don't need to incentivize, and people need the gig... It's like Company: I want people to work for us, we offer this.... (After they're established) Company: You want to work for us? Take this...
I know this order was accepted to make content. Otherwise, work these apps on your terms only. Never take an order that’s not worth taking, never wait for an order more than you’re willing to wait, and never work just 1 app at a time. Work the apps, don’t let the apps work you.
goddam . Made me $400 today 8 hours with both uber eats and doordash. WTf is spark? Aint nobody got time to go grocery shopping boi we out here making money!
Thx for hanging in there and showing us the reality of partnering with Spark! Appreciate your time spent to finish the run out. U are right about the apps and their attitude, in general, towards drivers. Some are better than others, a bunch, like Spark, pretty rough...My wife and I multi-app here in Twin Cities, and run 5 phones at a time. Some apps we tried for a day or week, and it was like....nope! We kept weeding through them to find the ones that are worth it...We could make a great stream channel, but wont because we won't share who we partner with, not even to our friends. Everyone is a potential competitor. you are well on your way to 100k subscribers, good for u. Every income stream u can tap into helps, right? In the recent deliver that town hall before u came online some people were whining about how they thought u and some other utubers were being spoon fed orders, but i did not believe it, u are honest about your experiences with them, not some company man..
It's INSANE isn't it! Some stores REALLY REALLY need help! I mean, they obviously have to pay more to get these orders delivered. One store in my area needs HELP! There isn't any way any of this is good for walmart!
That’s why I am one for legislation. Not to put unreasonable demands upon the gig apps but to require a minimum of at least a states minimum wage for active hours and a partial mileage pay per mile to the active delivery. So as an example in my state that would be $12.50 an hour and $0.40 a mile active. So for 10 miles as an example, map miles estimate 2 minutes per mile so 20 minutes so $4.17 plus $4.00 for miles plus tips not to be included as pay for the previous. Companies I’ve driven in the past for paid like 17 and hour plus reimbursed the government mileage standards at the times. At the time I was a parts runner for a company part time.
If drivers would stop taking bad orders then the gig companies would be forced to pay more base pay. Unfortunately someone will always pick up a bad order so they have no incentive to raise base pays. 🤷♀️
At least you’re working Pedro, I’ve been down for two days with this tropical storm 5060 mile an hour winds and 12 inches of rain, but DoorDash says will pay you $3.50 for every delivery they’re crazy. The sun will come out tomorrow and I will be back with a vengeance, I won’t do any Walmart
I’m in Tampa area and I’ve worked the past 4 days. DoorDash even had a $3 an order bonus all day Sunday and Monday. I made more the past 2 days then I have in the past week cuz ppl like u are too scared to get wet lol
Wait until you come across a store that cancels your order just because they aren't ready so the manager can get their yearly bonus for "low wait times" and you only get paid $2.43 or whatever it is
truth. that is total bs. they have figured out that they just cancel it and restart the clock. however you can take that same order for more money when it comes back up
30 minutes then go. If you don’t wait that long your completion rate will go down and if you get in the red on completion rate you will get deactivated. Only do shopping orders. Decline everything else accept high tip curbside orders that pay you for an hour wait time. Multi App the rest of the time. Get XXL insulated bags to hold those big orders in so you don’t have to carry individual bags. Any larger bags are too heavy to carry one in each hand to go up those three flights of stairs at apartments so you will have enough energy left to go back for those cases of drinks.
Stuck in a drive through for 40 minutes last night because a person was having an issue at the drive through and once I finally got to the window after telling me they had the order, they notified me that they didn’t actually have the order :)
My opinion I hope you are applying for a part time w-2 these gig apps don’t seem to be paying everyone good enough and don’t forget maintenance for you vehicle just my opinion
My local Walmart is terrible, yeah sometimes there would be really good paying offers but other times you'd never even get the order and just end up wasting your time. I only do shop and pay for spark.
If you drop the order after 10 mins and give reason 'delay in pick up' and watch for it to hit the Q again it will show up for more. Keep doing that every 10 mins, rinse and repeat. $27 will turn into $47.
Spark is the most like a regular job. They got their drivers they like, friends, etc. I’ve seen them intentionally mess up orders to get drivers in trouble and removed off the app
Didn’t watch this video but I’m sure it’s you complaining. Let this be a lesson don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Those doordash videos were a W u struggling now
Exactly why I only do 6:30am to 9:30am and 90% shopping only … curbside is too slow.. good luck 🍀and use the blue IKEA bags they help a lot especially when stairs are involved…
Bad merchants are always a liability for good drivers. Even when a good store gets flooded and oversaturated with drivers (they all strive for this so they can low-ball all the drivers) it goes to 💩💩💩 and they slowly stop giving an f. I found a small zone near me that’s DESPERATE for drivers to take their orders and I get paid MORE! Not even necessarily in tips either.
I waited 5 1/2hrs just to see if they would ever answer my number/call or come out and they never did. They went home and I had to go in the front entrance to a manager. I waited 5 an half hours for literally 2 items, then i finally delivered it after midnight. Store 729 is god aweful 😢
It's why Doordash and Walmart parted ways. Back in the day on Doordash doing Walmart orders you could make bank. They'd pay an extra $10 per 30 minutes of wait time on top of the order pay. Walmart had to come out of pocket to Doordash for all those wait fees and decided "We can do our own delivery service and rob drivers just like we rob our hourly employees" and cancelled the contract with Doordash wherever they could. They prey on the desperate to take orders that are not worth their time or money. Situationally there can be a few good orders here or there, or some markets may have it better than others but for the most part it's trash.
None of those people with Walmart orders tip at all. I don't use Spark, I use Ubereats, but I have only been tipped once on a grocery order. People seem to value shop and pay a bit more in my market. I just can't believe people have the audacity to not tip you for picking up their groceries and hauling all the bags to their doors. Customers don't value us, the companies don't either. I have way more lows than I do highs at this point.
Oh Pedro the month of July was brutal and no these apps don't give a crap. I've called it early in the last month more times than I can remember. Even Uber throwing out 3.00 offers for six drop offs all over town. 😅 I will not be a slave! With the real feel being 90 to 100 ° here and almost $5 per gal for gas all month I'll go home and stay in the air.
There's varying reasons as to why drivers wait to long....store is super busy...store is understaffed....your order got pushed so far down their screen they forgot about you,,,they have preferred drivers etc etc etc. One way to combat this is drop the order after 15 min or go run some other gig apps and tell them to call you when their ready lol. Make sure to spend your time wisely lol
Pedro. I have no idea why your experience is so bad with Spark. It's sucks to see it. It's been my main source of gig work income. It's been hit and miss like most apps. How many Walmarts are in your area? There has to be a good one in the area. I might wait 25 mins but it will depend on the pay for the offer. I hope it gets better for you. Can you try and go to Illinois?
The fact is, you cancel the order after waiting 20 minutes. That’s my fact. You also need to know your Walmart stores. You get around $2 to $4 for extended wait time. It’s called you’re screwed, and move on.
In my experience they are a lot better than they were last year. Most of the time I wait less than 5 minutes. Sometimes 10-20 at most. Last year I did wait an hour also a couple of times.
Last friday night I waited for 2 hours at Kirkwood. The night crews usually goodboff because the manager has gone home. Also, telegraph gets incredibly busy so it can be bad. If you dont want to wait, go to Fenton. They are always on time.
I think Spark varies from store to store, just like some restaurants suck to pick up DD orders from. The stores in my area are pretty decent and rarely take more than 10 minutes to pick up from…they do have issues sometimes though. I do find it nearly impossible to get more than one order completed in one hour. So whatever the offer pays that you accept…that’s your pay for that hour, IF the customer doesn’t take their tip back. Haven’t seen much tip baiting in a while though.
Wow here I am hella upset when I do instacart "delivery only" pick at a supermarket and have I go to the market and get the bags myself because slow teenagers/early '20s ppl are saying that they didn't have the order ready yet, probably takes me extra 10 minutes but I be heated 😤🤣🤣
You wait 30 mins, cancel the order.. You'll get paid around $6 for cancelling, and the order will usually come back and surge in price. Then you can pick it back up..
There was a time I was Doordashing where I had a Walmart order and someone came out and said it had to be cancelled cause their system was down and they couldn’t take any orders. I was in the process of cancelling the order with DoorDash support when someone came out and said the system was back up and they could take the order, so I cancelled the cancellation. Other cars were getting orders and about 10-15 minutes later someone comes to my car and asks me what order I’m there for and I tell them and they said they’ll go look for it. Another 10-15 minutes later someone else comes up to my car with an order and I show them the one I’m there for and they said they don’t have that one but they’re gonna go look for it after they give that one to the customer. Most times someone came up to my car with an order at Walmart it was mine, but not that time, right? Soon after that someone else comes up to my car and says the system is down again and the order has to be cancelled. Fortunately I asked support for full pay instead of half pay for that order since I waited so long for nothing and I was granted that request. I waited about 45 minutes. It could have been worse had I not gotten full pay.
In my busy 2 store home market most curbside orders at my preferred home store are loaded in 10 minutes or less, even very large 4-stop orders Most curbside orders at the other store have 30 plus minute wait times, and wait times of an hour are common Even wait times for ASAP curbside offers are often 30 minutes or more, so I only accept shopping offers at this store as unpaid wait times, missed opportunity costs and the stress levels are way too high
THE LAST DOORDASH PATCH ON THE APP IS HILARIOUS, ANBODY NOTICE HOW A LOT OF DOORDASH RU-vidRS ARE ON THE SLY MOVING AWAY FROM DOORDASH I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU PEDRO BUT YOU MIGHT BE SUSPECT TOO. IT APPEARS A WHOLE LOT OF DOORDASH GIGTUBERS WAS OPERATING UNDER THE GLITCH . RICHARD THE GLITCHARD LIAR WASN'T THE ONLY GIGTUBER USIING IT. I SHOULD NAME SOME NAMES TOO. LOL
You hit the nail on the head. As soon as the glitch was patched Mr BOY DoorDash career ended. Without cheating, this guy couldn't survive in any business!
Additional earnings like that are like 2.50 for each 10 mins past scheduled pickup time. Longest i wait before calling is about 20 mins. After 30 minutes you can drop the order penalty free. Would never wait longer then 1/2 hour. Im really surprised that order didnt get cancelled on their end due to the perishables and those having to be delivered within 90 mins of being shopped for
I agree but it's not just gig work . Companies in general don't value workers. That's why I ended up here in the first place and now they have dropped to the same standard of payment as other places. Sad but true
We are paid less while everyone else is paid more and getting raises. Things are getting more expensive as well. A lot of us don't have the option to just go get a W2. People are not hiring as much either. I know the gov says there are jobs but the reality is there isn't. The ones that are hiring have a LOT of applications.
TRUE STORY : I waited one hour at Popeyes for a ghost pepper wing meal...I canceled the order 30min into it ,but I stuck around to see how long would it take, meanwhile the manager cussed Me out ,because i questioned " why does it take an hour for chicken.,the manager of Popeyes told me I shouldn't be a driver, the whole experience was a hot mess
I've been watching you for some time now . I've been cracking up because I had the same experiments as a spark driver. Ive been a gig worker for 21 months. Now . I just brought me a cargo van. I think if you researched about transportation it's much more profitable.
Oh and Uber and doordash just reported earnings in the last week and they both are doing great so shows how much they care about their workers but they sure are making bank
On the first and the 5th of the month, food stamps drop so it's gonna be crazy busy. I have waited as long as thirty minutes and they're gonna pay you a couple bucks extra
Walmart spark is the worst 1, The Walmart employee work with the drivers, that's why they cancel order and dely pickup so you cancel. 2, If there are incentives you only get multiple stop order so it counts as one. Incentives days Uber eats will get most of the single orders. 3, The home Depot orders are most of the time are already picked up and 25cent per Miles. 4, Sams club orders takes forever to pick up and full of multiple stops with 32ct Water. 5, Most of all not enough good paying order , not enough to make 200$ in 12 hours. Don't do Walmart spark.👎👎👎
Walmart employees don't make enough to be good at their job. Let alone when gig workers try to piggy back off their hourly earnings to make large tips. I saw the disconnection back in 2021 when gig workers were making more on average than the people working in the restaurants themselves. It was backwards considering 1 is far easier than the other. Either gig work is too good and everyone wants to do that, or hourly rates at companies is better and still not good enough to be slaved around at an accelerated pace.
They give you . 75 cents for waiting an hr, ah! You have the opportunity to withdraw from the delivery without penalty, if you have waited an hr. Way to go greedy Walmart.
I went to a taco shop to get 2nd customers order. The workers refused to start this uber eats customers order as they served new walk in people. I explained my customer was a real person Also and this is wrong. They wouldn't make it until they helped everyone else. My 1st customers food was already cold in my car. Please do video about this anomaly 😀
You need to drop it after 20 min tops and take the $2.36 and move on. Bigger order I wait 20 small 10 min and as soon it’s extra pay and it’s not showing ready I’m out
