WAJDA PHOTO - When You Have to Use a Light Meter - Astrhori XH-2
The meter body sticks out partially behind the camera when mounted in the flash shoe, which is perfect on my Leica IIIG--when the back of the meter touches my forehead, I know not to go any further to keep my eyeglasses from getting scratched by the eyepiece.
NOTE: it does come in SILVER or BLACK. I only have the black version but I see it's available both ways!

I have the chrome version which looks good on my Voigtlander cameras. My only gripe is that the back of the meter gets in the way of your eye especially if the viewfinder window is directly below the flash shoe.

All modern cameras come with built in reflective meters. Why would this external meter be any different/more beneficial than the in-built meter?

Leicas and other rangefinders didn't often have internal meters. So, I use Sunny 16 but if you wanted to meter, this would work.

Lots of older 35 bodies have bad or broken meters too. Mine, a Nikon F, has a meter, but they don't make the batteries anymore (without a lot of fiddling, anyway). I'm interested in one of these! This one looks cool!

I bought the first version last march. It lasted 2 months, the button got stuck and the company didn’t return my mails to try to fix it or exchange. no guarantee at all.
