Interviewer: Tenoch you had the great responsibility on your shoulders to represent your culture in a very big way as a protagonist as well as also to enter a family that was in mourning that had lost one of their main characters. Tenoch: Yes, well first I don't have Mayan origin but like any Mexican, most Mexicans have indigenous origins, we have indigenous blood from our ancestors, which I am particularly proud of but for 500 years they taught us to feel ashamed of being what we are, to despise our grandparents, to look back with shame. And all conquered people go through that trauma. Now with these two representations they have given this character a wonderful background inspired by Mesoamerican Cultures particularly Mayan, it seems to me fantastic. It gives them (Mayan Ancestors and descendants?) the opportunity to be here. It's enormous. It's huge and a huge honor for me to do it and yes speaking of entering this new family that has a lot of pain, a great tragedy hit them, but when I came I witnessed their joy, their smiles, how kind they were and loving enough to welcome me and us apart of their clan. It becomes a beautiful experience. Particularly Leticia with me was so kind. English is not my mother tongue, so for example, the script sometimes left me confused, some things were hard to grasp and not clear to me and she simply looked in my eyes and told me to stay calm. She would come and give me space so that I could continue forward, trying again after many mistakes as many times as I needed. She was with me all the time. Imagine after going through all the pain she has endured, the loss of her brother, her soul brother. Yet being able to give me that, Wow, only tells you about what an extraordinary human being she is. So loving. I don't know, the only thing i can say is that when I saw this woman and when I started working with her and when we interacted it was like, wow, I don't know who (looks up to God) to thank for putting a person like her in front of me. 💜 His words were so beautiful I had to make the translation easy for english speakers to see because it touched my heart in such a way that i wanted others to witness it as well. What an amazing film and amazing gift these filmmakers have gifted us with. It has been so beautiful being introduced to Tenoch and his joyful, compassionate spirit, I know it was a blessing for the cast dealing with such grief. This movie gave me a respect for Letitia I have never felt for an actress, she is more than an actress. This is more than a movie.
Thank you so much for beautifully translating what Tenoch said so that others can read it. They're both lovely and accomplished actors, and I'm so glad they got to meet and work together on this film. They had amazing screen chemistry with each other.
Thank you so much for the translation . The whole time is was speaking i was wishing that I knew what he was saying because it sounded like he was speaking some deep emotions.
They were both incredible, Namor and Shuri really complimented each other. It’s like looking at a reflection of themselves, two incredibly diplomatic leaders but also can burn the world down with their anger. Can’t wait to see more Namor and Shuri in future movies together. Marvel has a goldmine with this two.
Now we understand why Namor and Shuri have such amazing chemistry that compliment each other. This two are so good together, their kindness and happiness for their characters is contagious. I hope we see more of Namor and Shuri combining forces and protecting their people together. This two were brilliant in the movie.
Letitia: "No he's not, he's talking about Spanish conquistadors." Meanwhile, Tenoch literally spent the last minute talking about what a loving and kind person she is, lol.
@@clementmckenzie7041 She's not fluent enough to catch was he was saying fully. She didn't react to him saying her name towards the end so she missed the ton of compliments he gave her.
This movie opened up so many possible future movies it was fantastic. All the lead characters were very strong and I look forward to seeing more interactions with all of them.
Wowz, honestly it looks SO RUDE of the interviewer (and maybe Tenoch a little to ignore Letitia altogether, since she won't be able to understand) .... Must have been a very awkward interview ..... So ugh. CAN SHE UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAYINH?!?!? Hmmmm
I feel the tension. She must have had a deep resentment for Tenoch. His character killed off a major character in the cast. I know she feels all sorts of ways about his character. He has the up most respect for her because he knows how she feels. Letitia went through hell with this movie on and off screen and I’m sure she had to hold it all in.
LOL What? Are you mixing fiction and reality? They've been nothing but respectful and loving towards each other the entire tour. She's listening quietly and respectfully. Don't cast aspersions, mama.
It's called acting dear. Most actors have to start from a deep well of love and trust to go to highly emotional places with each other in scenes. There's no room to be resentful. It's the opposite: the tend to emotionally each other through the process. These two clearly have become very fond of each other, and have deeply bonded. They literally praise each other all the time in interviews. Watch more and you'll see what I'm talking about.
