The Mustangs went into Louisville and scored a big upset over the No.22 Cardinals, 34-27. SMU QB Kevin Jennings was a force for the Mustangs notching 394 total yards and a rushing score. Roderick Daniels Jr. and LJ Johnson Jr. also rushed for scores for SMU. Key'Shawn Smith had the only receiving TD of the day for the Mustangs as backup QB Preston Stone found him in the first quarter for a score. Tyler Shough passed for 329 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Isaac Brown rushed for 117 yards on 10 carries for UL. Ja'Corey Brooks hauled in each of Shough's TD passes.
