Kids tried wakeboarding twice before with no getting out of the water, we were at wits end. Studied this video and practice in the backyard. Kids were up and going today. This has been the best help by a long shot. My kids are now able to get up everytime. They thank you heaps. They now also love another sport that I do. And we do this as a family which is best of all. I bookmarked this for anyone else I know. Stay upright and thanks again
Thank you very much for this video! I have approx 30 failed attempts to get up(deep water). Then I found this video and got up on my first try today(Had only one miss in 5-6 attempts today)
I spent a whole day plowing the water and trying to stand above the water using all my strength to get up not allowing the board to sink beneath me. I was beat up at the end with no success. I know it is not a strength issue. This video explains everything. I have the feeling I will get up right away next time.
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm new to wakeboarding, actually I've only attempted once but it was too cold. This is very helpful and I cant wait to try it!!
bro that helped me soooo much today was my first day wakeboarding, and what i was doing was i would get on top of the water but then fall foward, and my guess is that i rotated to early and did not keep my arms relaxed, i was fighting the jet ski because i was nervous as hell LOL
HUGE HELP! Ate it for days until I watched the video. Got up today on the first try...and I'm a 40-something chick, so this will work for anyone. Thanks for posting this great video!
Thanks for such a great video! I was having a terrible time trying to wake board on the lake. We took a break watched your video, and wall aa I was wake boarding like a pro very next try. Thanks!
Just tried this weekend and failed miserably. I was plowing through and was trying to keep the top of the board above the water so much and fighting it. It looks like I need to lower the front and let it cut through from the top and pivot up. Thanks for the vid!
The water is not dirty, It's just that the camera that they used has poor contrast in the quality, Therefor making the water seem a darkish brown type of colour.
The slightly rough or choppy water is slicker than smooth. I am talking ripples under 4 inches. The ripples or waves allow air to get under the board which in turn causes less friction or drag.
inside the wake the water is choppy and rough and i never slid much... but once i got outside of the wake i almost slipped because the water is so smooth because the boat isn't messing with the water far away
I tried wakeboaring yesterday for my first time, I had a lot of trouble getting it on top of the surface. What could I do to make sure it’s not pulling me further down into the water?
so question about wakeboarding. the reason that I was never good at waterskiing is becuz in waterskiing you have to push down on the water, but do u have to push down on the water in wakeboarding? becuz if u do then wakeboarding is definitely for people with coordination and not moxie, becuz people with coordination are really heavy on their feet, but people with moxie like me are really light on their feet.
I think it is much easier to just try to turn the board 90 almost at the same time as the boat starts to drag, in that way i just pop up from the water
It will a little bit. Some of the skills transpose but definitely not all. Getting up is probably the worst. I learned snowboarding just this past winter and just started wakeboarding. The whole getting towed from a rope is like getting towed by a surface ski lift and you need to lean backwards instead of forwards like on a snowboard. Also the edging is as solid on a wakeboard, its more like deep powder riding. The easiest way I've found to get up so far is start out like they say and when the board is giving you some lift turn to your riding position and stand up right away, the board is so large it will plane out almost right away. I tried planning sideways and that seems like an advanced skill.
This is the stupidest way of getting up all you gotta do is right when the board starts to plane pop your leading foot up you get up so easy just don't lean forward
It makes no sense to keep on riding sideways in a sitting position! Just turn the board and stand up when you're up off the water. It'll come natural to you.
FIRST: that is the nastiest water ever SECOND: I found that this shit doesn't work It took me at least 20 failed attempts before I thought to myself "what if i turned the board a second after the boat starts moving" The second attempt I got up... Maybe it is just me but when everyone says "stay on your ass" that is the most fucking difficult thing to do
