This game actually looks kinda dope

Seems like activision's whole idea with 02 was just to take the word Pro, and staple it to any sport they found right, can't wait for Crash Bandicoot's Pro Platformer

Damn.. those water physics and reflections are really impressive for PS2. I didn't even know this one existed but I will be keeping an eye out at garage sales for a cheap copy after seeing this review.

As a kid I played this game so much. I was never a very good wakeboarder aside from 180s 360s and some manuals. I read all the magazines and seeing my favorite wakeboards in a game was amazing. Wakeboarding will never be as popular as other sports due to the availability of the sport. But I have so much nostalgia for this game.

I LOVE THIS GAME, when I was 5 or so my teenage neighbors had this game and I would always watch but never get to play it. Finally after I graduated high-school I got a new PS2 and Wakeboarding Unleashed was one of the first games I got. So glad to see you did a video on this !!!

Snowboarding, surfing, and wakeboarding all seem to share one thing. The level dictates where the player goes, not the player. Skateboarding and BMX were the only ones that you get to explore on your own time.

Genuinely didn't know this one even existed in the O2 lineup...looks like it plays ok though...also rad glasses!

We seriously went from skateboarding to freaking Wakeboarding , seems pretty logical.(Also Jak is looking pretty slick in those glasses)

I actually loved this game growing up. I was/am really into wakeboarding though, so that probably helped. Edit: Also surprised by the lack of Sean Murray/No Man's Sky references

This game hits the nail spot on from a wakeboarders perspective. The heart of wakeboarding is in Florida and murray is from missouri which explains the southern country vibe of the game.

What I have to admit: The reflections on the water is, for 2003, just amazing.

I can see wakeboarding games having a lot of potential with location variety, since as long as there's water, you can put a boat through it, just hope those boats know how to turn around when you say so. But there's still one more Activision O2 game? I'll admit, you surprised me there, Jak.

Before you end Hawktober, remember there are two Activision O2 games left, One of them is MTX Mototrax/Travis Pastrana's Pro Moto X, and the other is Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure, which just so happened to be made during the O2 lineup and was based off an O2 game(THPS4), but not ACTUALLY an O2 game.

GODDAMN THESE INCEST JOKES GOT ME ROFLCOPTERING HARD The first broke me, I wasn't expecting. The second came outta nowhere, but cracked me up. Then came the third. The fourth. And when I thought he'd stopped, he dropped the "gene pool disaster". I laughed so fucking hard in an escalating manner. I can only imagine that Jak had these written for years and was expecting the perfect moment to unleash them all. Kudos, sir.

I played a demo of Wakeboarding Unleashed on THPS4 back in the day but didn't get a copy until earlier this year. Its not that bad, better than I thought it would be. I consider Mat Hoffman the best 02 game but this game is better than the rest of them.

THPS4 came with a pamphlet for Activison O2 promoting the pre-existing games but also Shawn Palmer 2 mentioning expansive real world environments, as well as the original ______’s Pro _______ names of this game and the next game.

You should review Downhill Domination. Underrated gem on the PS2 IMO.

I remember loving this game because it had a lot of interesting shit to grind. Made the game kind of feel more like Jet grind radio than a Tony Hawk clone game.

You need to review MTX Mototrax next. It was supposed to be Travis Pastrana's o2 game but was released under regular Activision publishing. It's very similar to THPS 4 in how the career mode works. You can try out the demo in THUG on PS2.

I fucking love this game. I rented it during a weekend when I didn't have a working memory card, so I have to leave the console on and never ultimately beat it. But damn, it had my attention 100%. So much fun.

The reflections and graphics for the most part are amazing for 2003. Also, the level design for the GBA version is incredibly accurate to real wakeboard cable parks. Just floating ramps and rails in a circle. That isn't better than arcady wacky levels like in the console version though but still, it was a good idea for them to do that. Also, I have a soft spot for 3d GBA games. IDK why but they are just really cool.

Ive seen Matt Hoffman and maybe Kelly Slater in action, Wakeboarding Unleashed was the only one I played because the "Shaun Murray Pro Wakeboarder" demo was in the PS2 version of THPS4 that I rented a few times. Didn't know what Wakeboarding was, just made a few jumps, maybe did a few tricks and tried to detach myself from the boat so I can roam around the surrounding area... I lost, so I just went back to screwing around with all the cheats as my main man Jango Fett. Final release more than likely did not fare any better No one really won except for maybe Hoffman, but Murray nearly got to the top.
