An overview of the different caves systems in the Woodville Karst Plain of north Florida, brought to you by the divers of the Woodville Karst Plain Project.
Most most people don't realize that when Casey McKinley and Jarrod Jablonski made the coveted commection between Wakuula and Leon, I think ot was only a few days later I believe and they did a complete traverse cave diving from Wakuula Spring all thw way to Leon sink which is roughly 7.5 miles away. The depth of water at more than 250 ffw average definitely helped attribute to the extremely long decompression times thus taking the team of two divers 26.5 hours to complete the traverse from submersion to exit.
good to see ya DIR.. I hear way too many stories of very experienced cave divers buying it in caves.. I'm a rec diver, and don't think Ill ever get in to such intense diving so really love the videos!
HAHA, good question. These divers are all outfitted in Drysuits. They use a condom catheter and P-valve. Some divers even utilize a diaper for anything else in a drysuit. Keep on diving @buttonsjr, if you are interested in furthering your education or want to learn more about DIR diving please check out the global underwater explorers
