Da MudderBurd it’s not really all that hard to be honest. You lock your arm in one position and sit there while the opponent tires himself out... Again, not much, if any at all, skill involved in it. Im not trying to talk myself up or anything as literally anyone can do it. I even taught my friends son how to do a Kings move, and he is only 9 lol That’s why I get on Todd’s ass so much for doing it. Todd isn’t a weakling. He has some good power in his arm. So why constantly do a move a child can do? Use the power in your damn arm Todd! Stop sitting back any letting your opponent wear himself out while you exert next to nothing and pretty much are just watching. Get up and beat him like a man. I know you can do it. Hell I’ve seen you do it. So do it lol Get back some of the respect you once had a ton of bud
Todd would be nothing w/o his elbow being messed up.. physically you can't bend his elbow straight from a break he had.. he's actually a terrible arm wrestler.
Not a huge fan of the Kings move, and fouls should be called in a losing position, but if you're in a winning position, you can sit on your ass as long as your elbow is on the pad and it's legal. Js
I wonder how long Michael Todd would last if he had to pull his opponents eye to eye? I remember the days when that was how it was done, not this resting my forearm on the pad and waiting to see how long it takes for my opponent to burn out crap.
Why is this even allowed? Sure, Todd might be the master of the technique but is it in the spirit of the game? It looks completely ridiculous when he hangs under the table like that. Abolish the kings move, get the rules straight.
It's called the kings move, Michael has perfected it to a level no other armwrestler has, and he deserves respect for that. If other arm wrestlers could perform the kings move as effectively as him they most certainly would, it isn't a matter of sportsmanship, all of them are great sports, but they all have their own styles as well. Think about it this way; if Barboza could win the hammer using the kings move, he would. It isn't like he doesn't use it because it is cowardly (and if you researched this more you would realize it is by no means a cowardly move) he doesn't use it because he thinks he has a better chance of winning the armwrestle the way he does, with bursts of speed. Michael wouldn't even be using the kings move now if he hadn't had so many injuries. He can't get the same type of leverage as barboza or other armwrestlers, his arm won't bend far enough. That said, it is a fine thing to do, Devon has used the kings move on multiple occasions, he hasn't mastered it like Michael, but he gets absolutely no hate for using the exact same move. Why? Because you can't see beyond the surface of armwrestling. He is doing the same thing, but you can't tell because he isn't actually that good at it. If you don't believe me ask Devon Larratt, go to the end of his match with Michael and see what he says.
@@insolentish4529 that is true, but his injuries also make it impossible for him to bend his arm enough to armwrestle the way barboza does. Someone who has worked as hard as Michael has doesn't deserve this kind of criticism. Michael used the same exact move on Devon larratt in 2011 and lost, 4-2
Ya I’d rather see em stay standing and arm wrestle but u can’t hate him for it , he’s not breaking the rules and he is the champ , he finds a way to win
@@guitarjunkienc4875 EVERYONE HATES TO WATCH THIS RIDICULOUS STYLE. NOW EVEN DEVON LARRAT IS USING THIS BS because its almost cheating it was def never meant to be allowed Michelle Todd has ruined armwrestling. John Brzenk said it best when he said how ridiculous is it going to be when both armwrestlers are under the table streched out in the kingsmove its pathetic.
@@harleydavidson1014 Ya no shit , like I said I’d rather have em stay standing that’s real arm wrestling but he don’t make a rules so he definitely hasn’t ruined arm wrestling, He had to adapt after fucking up his arms so much , he never used the kings move back in the day , guys like Devon and Monster are only making the sport much bigger
+ YAHUSHA KING: King's move is legal only if the shoulder is above the level of the table, in more than one occasion it was not, so the faul should've been called.
Todd is basically sitting on the floor.... How is that not an elbow foul? His elbow is not on the pad. I hate that move for one reason : Todd can armwrestle properly if he wants to.
It's funny you say that, because he actually can't. Due to past injuries he can only bend his arm about 90° which isn't enough to compete with other top arm wrestlers who have much better range of motion, allowing for much better leverage. Michael has perfected the kings move because he can't armwrestle like other people effectively, not the other way around.
@@damudderburd3939 also another point, for example in his match againt cyplenkov in 2011 I think it was, he tries to arm wrestle properly, and gets destroyed in about a second
@@liamjeffreys132 First of all, it's Denis Cyplenkov. Also, That was near the start of Michael's King's Move career just after he broke his arm, he wasn't doing very well. Michael's press is very powerful, but if you can get around it he will revert back to the kings move, which is his only defense. Michael used to be the best in the world standing up, now he is still very good standing up but there is no way for him to compete with other elite superheavies with the angles his arm locks out at. Lately, even though he is at a disadvantage, he has been able to hold Chaffee and Jerry without actually kings moving, using just his arm strength. Whether he stands up is his choice, there is no advantage to being low besides that it is easier to get into the kings move. Michael is a great armwrestler and always has been.
these announcers are all over Michael Todd in every video I watch and it's absurd. Biased for a horrible, what should-be-illegal style that requires virtually zero skill, stamina, and power. His opponents need to work 10 times harder to get a pin. He's under the table and his arms practically straight. Peewee Herman could beat Devon Larratt with that style.
WAL, how can someone hide under the table like that be allowed? That isnt sport. Look at all the comments here, everyone disapprove it. Its a shame to the sport, practitioners shouldn't go with his pectoral under the table. This cheater is using all the weight of his body instead of the rotational force of his arm.
The crowd was so dead for this matchup because Todd is the most boring arm wrestler in the world. He doesn’t hide the fact that he cheats. Wish they would make him stand up. He loses when he stands
Arm wrestling allows a competitor to sit on the floor while they pull, as long as their tricep is on the pad. Yeah, tricep. Because Todd's elbow sure as hell wasn't touching.
Todd is weak af the only way he can win is pulling that gay ass move under the table. If he stood up with barboza and pulled normally he’d get wrecked.
If he had the ability to vend his arm past 90° maybe he could armwrestle normally, but because of injuries he can't. If Michael could arm wrestle the way barboza does, he would do just as well or even better than him. Michael uses the kings move because it is the only way he can compete with the top level players who have a much better range of motion. The kings move is actually very difficult and requires a lot of hard training, all of Michael's wins are well deserved.
@@ChefDaffee his shoulder never goes below the table, his actual elbow isn't where it appears because of tissue buildup, and you don't even need to have the pointy part of your elbow on the pad, just the part of the arm where the joint is. If it isn't enjoyable for you to watch, don't watch it. I don't watch sports I don't enjoy watching. If you don't like watching Todd, don't watch Todd. You don't need to throw a hissy fit just because you don't like the way he armwrestles. If you think the refs are going easy on Michael, just watch how many times Chaffee elbow fouls in 503. The wal has some of the strictest rules regarding the kings move, and Michael still doesn't break them. Get over it, move on, the only thing you are accomplishing is spreading hate. The kings move didn't start with Monster either, it has been a valid move for decades. People only hate on Todd because he is so much better at it than everyone else it looks like he is cheating.
@@damudderburd3939 they do not have strict rules on the kings move. He uses it because hes fuxkn weak. He literally cannot win without it. Injury reasons is just bullshit. He has just as much range of motion as larratt (larratt cannot bend his arms straight). So whats todds excuse again? Yes the pointy part if you ur elbox should be the fulcrum of the arm. Otherwise u can (and todd in fact does) just lay on ur tricep all fuxkn day using close to no energy. Juat resting letting the other guy gas out because again....todd is weak af. Hes a big dude but hes for aome reason weak as shit compared to real arm wrestlers. Please try to enlighten me. Todd sucks. End of story. Any way u try to cut it or justify it. Just bc the league doesnt do shit about it doesnt mean its not fuxked up and lame. Slavery was like that for 300 years before we said no more. We could smoke on airplanes for 50 years before we said no more..... again..... please enlighten me?
@Anonymous Haha we all know the wal isn't a strict league. I'm not going to pretend that if his elbow comes off they will instantly call it, or if the top of his shoulder goes below the table they will stop the match. The shoulder rule is for safety only, it shouldn't exist in this level of competition. Michael's elbow is farther back when his arm is extended than we would think. The joint is always in contact with the pad. If you want to complain about micro fouls, complain about every armwrestler, or maybe you should just stay away from wal.
@@theobvu Quoting the rules from the WAL website. "10. Competitors cannot drop the competing shoulder below the level of the elbow pad when in a neutral or losing position."
@Anonymous Haha I didn't make the rules but neutral is in the center of the table, losing needs to be 2/3 of the way to the losing side pin line.. For him to have his shoulder below the table & actually have a foul called he'd have to have his arm almost completely flattened out. There are examples of this in other matches w/ the UAL. WAL pretty much did everything backwards of any other league or organization... I have no idea why.
@Anonymous Haha I agree it will be significantly more difficult for him to deal w/ these bigger guys in Europe. It showed w/ his last bouts against Cyplenkov & Pushkar. They both cracked him open.
Supposedly that's only a foul in a 'losing position', which I think is insane, personally. It means you can be neutral or slightly positive and hang on to their arm like an ape til the cows come home. And even when he is in a losing position the refs are sometimes rather lax with calling it out. See the match with Devon for a perfect example.
Every competitor should refuse to take a match with Todd until the refs and the WAL start calling what he is doing for the foul that is. Foul Rule 9. Intentionally moving your opponent off center after “Close your Hands” - example: Back Pressure. He is Back Pressuring by going back and under the table, and once down there he uses his legs to brace and continue to pull back. Todd's elbow goes immediately to the back of his own pad after the ref says "Go" every time. To the refs it looks like just going under the table (which is somehow still allowed), but I guarantee Todd knows exactly that he's using the under the table maneuver to apply back pressure because Todd has always tried to get away with Back Pressure moves. It's obvious because his opponent is being pulled across the table, and their elbows are being pulled off the FRONT of their pad. When Marcio or any competitor does get Todd close to a pin, they are unable to do so without their own elbow coming forward off the FRONT of their pad because Todd moves over closer to his pin side, straightening his arm, and using the elbow pad as leverage to keep his hand closer to his side of the table, resulting in it being nearly impossible to pin him without the opponent's elbow coming forward off the FRONT of their own pad to do so. Trying to pull your opponent into a foul is a foul and is what Rule 9 is for. Been seeing everyone end up in the same situation and having the same problem with him. The problem is that the refs aren't fouling Todd for Back Pressure.
To be clear, rule 9 is about moving off center before the "go". You're 100% allowed to backpressure after the match has started - much of armwrestling technique is moving your elbow to the back of the pad and pulling your opponent with you. Discussions of the king's move aside, backpressure is totally legal after the start.
I think it's mostly that Barboza is too short. He can't get his hip high enough against the table to lean way in and do a shoulder press. If he was 2-4 inches taller, he could do it and beat Todd.
Louis Cyphre Yeah, Trubin flashed Todds arm easy by being really high up and just adjust the grip. More leverage above the table gives more momentum while Todd is looking for dust under the table
That is exact. Yes. He can beat Todds cheat move because his arm is too short, so it is physicalkly impossible, taling in account that many times Todd lifht his elbow and position his hand extra high. I can understand how this move is legal, that is crazy.
I thought at least one shoulder has to be above the table? Can someone correct me please? I don't have any hate for the king's move, it's not easy to do, but in this match in particular he's clearly way below the table with both shoulders.
The hosts are talking about Michael Todd fighting with a broken hand! I mean literally when there's no pressure on your hand and you are always under the table, obviously you will fight and win 😂
Im new to all this but I can’t believe Todd can’t add more tools to his tool chest whatever that is that he does he’s got that mastered apparently couldn’t he develop more ways to win and be even better?.......reminds me of Tim Sylvia back in the day...mma
@World Armwrestling League: You made a mistake in the description there..Marcio's nickname is "Primal" not The Phenom. Great match though, thanks for uploading. Personally I can't wait for Armfight #50 Devon vs Denis! ^^
Cheater toddler sucks he does not have any strength does not arm wrestle he doesn't use any muscle he just hangs off the side of the table by his elbow .makes the wal a joke.
Marcio seems like he has no motivation, no spirit... 2 answers: 1) Matt Mask and Todd are really strong 2) Marcio isnt at the same level of the other pullers
Couldn't even finish watching this video with how absolutely ridiculous Todd looks. Cannot believe they let him get away with what he does. Hes literally underneathe the table in parts of this match. He has nothing besides this move and its embarrassing. Just makes me love the match where hes up against John and John says "where ya going buddy" and still beats him lol. As soon as hes out of this sport the better it will be. They need to set and or enforce whatevers rules are in place.
