It’s really sad, Walden was a great character in his own way and would have been a great addition to the cast. It’s just a shame he replaced the character that most people watched the show for 😅
His own brother called him an idiot, or something like that. Charlie screwed it up, a fall from grace, and copped disharmonious attitude. Hell, I do it every dam day. Somebody STOP me. It's what weed is for. Do your weed, lol, unless you're a god. Human bad attitude is why hell exists.
Interesting how Charlie and Walden came from entirely opposite backgrounds in terms of mother figures but ended up going to that shrink for the same reason - mommy issues affecting their relationships with women!
I liked Walden, but I just don't like him as much as Charlie. Charlie was a truly flawed character what with his womanizing, rampant alcoholism and refusal to acknowledge that he had a lot of issues, but he still cared about his family and friends deeply and did try to better himself when he found the right woman at times during the show. That made him a very relatable character for a lot of folks, seeing such a flawed human being trying to better himself And then there's Walden. His biggest issue was being kind of arrogant and an Oedipus complex, the latter of which is particularly difficult for folks to relate to, and I think that's why while Walden was a good character, he simply isn't as loved as Charlie is. You can't relate to Walden as much as you did Charlie
Yeah. It’s typically about the delivery with the lines and who does it and Ashton just doesn’t have what it takes to deliver this style of humour and had made it retarded.
Sometimes, I'm not even sure the character of Walden was the big problem, not even Kutcher (although his comedic range had its limits). The guy at least tried to bring something original to the flat plot, while the writers really didn't give him much to work with. Maybe Sheen did take the good writers with him left when he left!
@@NiVi192 Its maybe 60% Ashton 40% directors and writers. Ashton did it for the $$ and plus some jokes are not even funny and many girls on the show feel bland. I think plan was lets run this think into the ground as long as our pockets are full.
If 80%+ of the comments are saying that it isn't the same without Charlie - WHY ARE YOU WATCHING SEASONS 9-12 HIGHLIGHTS? As someone who thinks the entire show was great, it ruins the viewing experience, so if you wanna see Charlie, don't see the newer episodes.
The best line in this scene was when she said she didn't like using the cured word because it hurts repeat business. But Charlie was better in this i have to say.
Ashton Kutcher was probably the worst possible replacement for a role that had featured a free-spirited happy-go-lucky bachelor that was a total player with women.
Ok... Here's the thing. No matter how good or how bad or how ok episodes in TAAHM went, you can NEVER go wrong with the scenes with the Therapist sessions. Jane Lynch + Charlie + sheer brilliant writing made what they are. The only thing common I can see in this scene with the earlier ones is Jane Lynch as the therapist. Without bringing in any comparisons between performances of Charlie and Ashton, this scene clearly goes to show how just bad writing made Ashton/Walden look bad throughout the series. Forget Ashton, it seems even Jane Lynch isn't her regular self here either...! Hence, not just the audience, seems like even the producers and writers of the show didn't like Ashton Kutcher much either... Audience couldn't like Ashton or seasons 9-12 even if we wanted to (and trust me, many of us have actually tried).
The foundations for your adult personality is made during childhood. The reason why the nuclear families the best is because it teaches boys how to act as men and what to look for in a possible lover. And vice versa for girls with no one filling the other figure Gap people get screwed up. In other words he never truly got to see how a man and a woman supposed to act through his parents. He just had a daunting helicopter mother so he expected his wife to act like that. because no real frame of reference for pair bonding.
Can you guys really blame them for firing Charlie Sheen? He went on a pretty vicious downward spiral during this time and was addicted to pretty heavy hard drugs
They should have made Walden act like Michael Kelso again back in that 70 show. Or they should have made Walden's last Kelso instead of Schmidt. Missed opportunity to make Walden Michael Kelso his twin brother from another multiverse.
Nothing against kushner. But can't ask him to compete with Charlie sheen This part ruins the the legacy of 2 and a half men .Charlie sheen is a legend to make it look amazing and make every one look good.
Love you Aston Kutcher! I admire your acting skills and am one of those people who think that you deserve as much credit and appreciation as Charlie Sheen got. COME ON PEOPLE! Just because he is younger and less experienced than Sheen and replaced him as a main character , you are criticizing him!. I know we all miss Charlie, but Walden's character has its own charm. Looking for the spring season during autumn while forgetting to appreciate the latter's distinct beauty is not only foolishness but also unfair. Charlie is a carefree dipsomaniac who cannot handle a relationship because of his dirty habits(like sleeping around with other women despite his commitments) and overall nature. Walden on the other hand is a more responsible person with more general awareness. Being the opposite of Charlie, he is sensitive and gets too attached while in a relationship resulting him to break down after a woman dumps him. He is evidently a more caring and affectionate person who remains loyal to his significant other be it Bridget, Zoey or Miss McMartin. My argument is that both the characters are different and cannot be compared. But that does not mean one actor is better than the other.
You absolutely nailed it. While I admit idk if his character was the same as the show neared its end I appreciated the idea of a guy who has all this money but still is emotionally involved in a relationship and truly cares. While I always will love Charlie's charcuterie Ashton did his thing too
people are comparing him to charlie because it's the same goddamn show. he changed the atmosphere and dynamics of the show after people grew fond of charlie's antics for like 8 years. not really difficult to understand. charlie sheen WAS 2.5 men. You don't get to replace meatballs on my spaghetti with tofu and then explain to me how meatballs and tofu can't be compared.
So Walden was completely opposite to what Charlie was 😆, one woman guy, who self knows the all answers even before the therapist whereas Charlie was a playa, afraid of commitment and doesn't catch the answer even after the therapist give him all the clues. 😆
kutcher isn’t actually a bad guy I like some of his work , I just don’t think this role was him. Nobody could fill that role even. This actually ain’t a bad scene, the sarcastic shrink always got me a few laughs
Even the background laughter is forced . They ruined the show by replacing a devil may care attitude character by a guy who tries too hard to be a nice guy.. that was Alan’s job
