We gave the Waldorf Astoria DIFC a second chance and we were not disappointed. Great place, awesome restaurant, fantastic room and nice staff. Sometimes a second visit changes opinions. We'll be back!

Is there something unique about the Waldorf Astorias in Dubai? I have never been to one of them, just visited the DIFC shortly as curious day guest. It was quite luxurious but watching the videos it is somehow also quite cold and not really emotional, the marbled bathroom for example. The same style is also on the WA-Palm. Because you asked, I would prefer the Conrad more, much more adapted to the Arabian region, for example the inner architecture. The pool area at the Conrad is outstanding. The room rates at the WA's are always the highest among the Hilton hotels in Dubai and it is not obvious for me why. Maybe being a guest, than you realize that special thing about this brand.

I guess it is more a matter of personal preference and there is no logic behind it or any hard facts. Some people do like the exclusivity of the brand, others don't or don't care. :-) I personally prefer the Conrads as they often have outstanding executive lounges and a great price-performance ratio. Sometimes, however, also a Waldorf can be nice.
