What do you think of the idea of getting 5 or 6 aspire cards from player 1 and 2, and use the free night certificates to book the room and use the resort credit to pay for the food?
That is definitely a viable advanced level strategy that can help reduce the cost of aspirational trips like this one. It takes a fair amount planning and time to get it set up but can be very rewarding. We only ate 2 meals a day; Breakfast at about 9:00am (which is free with Diamond status) and then dinner at about 7 pm. We did bring a few snacks with us for in between meals. Our food bill ended up being about $1,400 for the 5 dinners with a few adult beverages. The yacht transfers will be over 1k each unless you plan on using points to cover it. So having multiple resort credits can be helpful in reducing the cost.
@@travelingwithpoints Cool. Thanks for sharing the dinner bill and how to use points to book the yacht transfer. Very useful info. I recently came across video saying p1 and p2 both get 3 aspire cards each. At first, I thought the idea is crazy. But after I understand the strategy, it kind of makes sense. I think this strategy works well with a trip like the one in this video. Alternatively, it can be a resort trip using the resort credit to a room in a medium price resorts where you can eat some where else for lunch and dinner, plus another stay at the high end hotel like Conrad Tokyo using the free nights.
