For years I have said we must visit the lakes above Arthog in North Wales, and I’m so glad we finally did, what an outstanding area of beauty, but we were not alone once we got there, even in October it was busy, so what it must be like in the Summer one can only guess.
Its a narrow road up to the lakes, and on the way we pass the Arthog Falls, not that we can see them but we certainly heard them when we stopped to open the gate on the road.
This area is part of the Eryri National park and we are in the southern part of the park not far from the highest mountain in the area, Cader Idris.
