One of my 2 favorite S-classes of all time. The other one being the W116 450SEL 6.9. Looking at this car, it seems as if it was built like a tank and that engine, oh wow. It looks almost indestructible. During those years, Mercedes-benz put heavy emphasis on using the best raw materials available for cars at that time. Plus, these cars seem to have a certain mechanical “soul” that appears to be absent in newer models, everything being replaced by computers.
A miracle on wheels. These cars, from 250s to 300 sel 6.3 were loved and appreciated and bedcame a myth already since their prodction ran out for their successor 116. This was the ultmate climax of limousine design neither reached before nor afterwards.
