Did BMW remove ventilated seats in the x5 xdrive? In the build, I don't see the climate comfort package (which had the ventilated seats) or an individual option. If they did, it is disappointing that there are no ventilated seats in a $67,000 SUV.😢
They may have removed it from the online builder, but it is still in the pricing guide and there is no update stating it has been removed. They remove and add things intermittently from the builder all the time for whatever reasons, but it is still an available option :)
Had to look this one up... but yes, that is definitely an SUV "coupe" that came before the X6. Maybe I should've specified *luxury* SUV coupe because, now that I think about it, the Pontiac Aztek also had this shape and came before X6.
Can you get it custom made so you can have a traditional shifter, or you have to deal with this “knob” of a shifter? It’s not only in BMW, but whose idea was it and why was the “knob” introduced to replace the traditional shifter? Is there a pro to this garbage?
EXCELLENT Comprehensive Video! IMPORTANT QUESTION that no one wants to talk about, if you could please speak to this: The 20's are lackluster visually and would feel like you are settling for a stance that is 'un-meaty, and un-athletic--but SAFE'--everyone would probably agree the 21 or 22 inch mixed sets look much better---BUT TO MY RESEARCH ONLY INCLUDE SUMMER TIRES. Why aren't tire manufacturers making all-seasons in the rear 315 size (like the 20s--this would be the ONLY reason to get the 20's, but I would feel like its settling in a big way on looks), OR, maybe a better question is why isn't BMW offering 21's in a square, all-season format in 275's (like I believe is available on the X7, and on vehicles like xc90 and others). They are missing it. What do people do (especially in your state) in the winter--are they able to get through 4 seasons on the mixed set/summer tires? What do your customers do if choosing the mixed sets in areas with temperatures below 50 degrees in the winter and the occasional snow? I can't believe every single customer buys a winter set of rims and tires, but I could be wrong. Please enlighten me and RU-vid--you WOULD BE THE FIRST! Maybe I have a warped understanding of what's going on here.
You bring up a great point! If you want that athletic stance, and a more aggressive looking wheel, you have to go for the 21" or 22" wheels. But, if you do that, you're getting a mixed (non-rotatable) performance tire (can't be used in cold/snowy conditions). So there's definitely a decision to be made: less attractive wheel but usable all-year, or more attractive wheel that isn't usable year round? In most cases, our customers here in NJ opt for the first option, as it's more convenient, and most are satisfied with the looks of the 20" wheels. However, a fair amount of our customers do opt for the larger wheels with performance tires, and simply swap out for winter tires when the time comes. People do this more often than you might think, I even do it myself. It gives you the best of both worlds with only a mild inconvenience twice per year when it's time to swap tires. Hopefully that answers your question! As for why BMW doesn't offer the larger wheels with all-season tires: that's a good question but it's one that's better suited for BMW or tire suppliers than it is for me! I suspect it has something to do with demand: if you're interested in the aggressive look, you probably also want the better performance from a performance tire and are willing to swap for winters. But, that's just a guess. I don't have a definite answer for that question unfortunately.
Really appreciate this insight! I did come across one manufacturer who makes the 275/315 mixed setup in all-seasons. Pirelli Scorpion Verde is available in this sizing---so I guess as a replacement tire this would fit the bill of having a longer-lasting (and multi-season) tire available once the OEM performance set wore out. They are pricey (as of course all tires are in this size range--but I would guess then at least the tires could be rotated side for side? Maybe a slight win with this. Thanks again! @@bmwofmorristown9038
just preorder 2024 x6, Brooklyn gray and Tacora red interior with m sport package. my sale talked me into that red interior , do you think that red interior is good for 70 years old man? please let me know, before the order is finalized.
Of course that's subjective, but I really like the red interior! As long as it suits your own personal taste, I can't see why it wouldn't be good for anyone. You're never too old to enjoy a nice looking and modern feeling interior!
The bumper cover is, but of course the actual bumper (that you don't see, which takes the brunt of impact in a crash, for example) is metal. Almost all new cars have plastic bumper covers now.
