An epic 113 mile cross country walk from Braemar to Inverness.
6 days walking, 5 days camping.
In part 1 (Day 1) I walk about 23 miles from Braemar to Ryovan bothy via the Lairig an Laoigh). I visit Bob Scott's bothy, the Fords of Avon refuge hut and wild camp by Ryvoan bothy.

Ha...love the Psilocybin opening tune.....we're certainly on for a right trip I thought.To think Kiran left his mark for you to know his moment there in the Bothy. There is love among human beings especially in the hills. A fantastic outing....enjoyed the route and vistas. All the best. Mark.

Was delighted to see a new video up. Pity about the girl. Chin up buddy. The mountains and glens are a fantastic place to retreat to to forget life's shit. Looking forward to your next section

It did lift, a few days away by myself was all I needed to clear my head... until the next time a lovely girl distracts me and messes with my head.

Hello Mr Hill, great vid. Was that Mr Globetrotter at 15.33

Thanks Nibiru. Mr Globetrotter was not there but has several clones which roam the hills night and day all over Scotland so it is likely to be one of them.

Hi what app do you use on your phone for the maps Thanks John

Hi John. I don't use any apps but I hear Viewranger is useful. Also if you download the os maps app you can download a free digital version of a map when you buy the paper version. Sometimes I load the map on Walkhighlands website using the web browser, if the route I'm following is available. It's good cause it uses the gps to show where you are on the route.

Great start to another good trip by the looks of it. Was that someone's tent up behind the bothy just after you pitched your tent?

When was this? Im planning to hike Lairig Ghru in a week or so. Any advices?
@hfthscot

Emmmm my only advice would be to walk East to West (Linn of Dee to Aviemore), it feels like more of an escape into the Cairngorms this way plus there is less ascent. Oh and camp at Rothiemurchus campsite, Coylumbridge.

Sweet! Yeah thats what Im planning to do. Im going from Braemar to Aviemore. Do you think it's rainy right now? I live in Belgium and Im bringing on my hammock. I'll probably get tarp in the UK, but would you recommend tarp or tent if Im planning to camp in Cairngorms?

Rain is very unpredictable in Scotland,best to take a tent or bivvy because you can't always guarantee that you'll find trees.

These things can't be planned. What's for you won't go by you. Also, no gf's allowed on the trail.
