Welcome to Orewa, a suburb in the north of Auckland, New Zealand. It lies on the Hibiscus Coast, just north of the base of the Whangaparāoa Peninsula and 40 kilometres north of central Auckland. It is a popular holiday destination.
Orewa's long Pacific Ocean beach is a place for swimming, surfing and long, relaxing walks. Beyond the beach, entertainment possibilities include golf at Gulf Harbour, wine trails, hiking in regional parks, cycling, indoor skiing and thermal hot pools. Orewa has a shopping centre and a wide selection of bars and restaurants.
The total distance is about 1km and was recorded in summer 2022 on a day with a temperature of 26°C. Auckland was on an orange light setting for the Covid protection framework at the time, so some limitations on gatherings were in place.
