Nice job! When possible we always run our copper piping on top of cooler. Those Genie lifts are awesome allows you to hang the coils by yourself when you have no help. We do lots of 1400 lb and up remote ice makers and couldn’t do it without the Genie Lift.
Hay Dave, nice job. On those larger boxes, yes, one control for all the coils, especially if you have 2+ coils. I would suggest the KE2 controller. You can actually mount several sensors as an averaging set of sensors to equate the entire load of the box. This is especially good when utilizing one controller in a very long box, (over 50 - 75 ft. or around corners), Look into the KE2 controller about this. Also, the KE2 controller is set up for dual speed fans, the ETC's. You can gang up 4 sensors to average the entire box temp, so you don't freeze the coils when one side is way colder than the entrance side. Just an observance/FYI.
Yo Dave! I'm not in the trade but I really enjoy your videos. I grew up in and around Santa Cruz (eastside!) and like tagging along with you on your calls and trying to recognize all the areas and locations. Especially love the foggy summer days and can almost smell the Eucalyptus trees near the coast. Keep on keeping on and watch out for those big bags of caulk!
Just got home.. Been running all weekend.. I made more in 2 days than 5.. imagine that. Uncle Sam is gonna bend me over good. Clean good stuff Brother Dave. Keep on keepin on.. you need to make an installer tune.. like super tech has. Stay safe and be well
Normally use 2x4s on top of the box or unistrut across the coil and then put carriage bolts to better distribute the weight but that’s code here in Florida regardless nice work !
Hey that's cheating using the lift!😆 good job buddy! Are you feeling the refrigerant price increase? Here in southern Illinois ( about 20 min outside of STL) we are seeing over a 200 % price increase on refrigerant. 😳
Always like laying out a brand new system from day one on a brand new box for room build. I discovered trying to saw square even level holes in 1 foot thick freezer box ceiling is not an easy task. I had to cut six holes that were 5 feet wide by 7 feet long for air filter returns I underbid the labor hours buy three times. That was an expensive time consuming learning lesson for my first time working in a freezer box.
I want to build a small compact one that would fit like in a minivan I’d be super lightweight compactible just for doing like icemakers in evaporator coil’s
@@NorCal-refrigeration ya that would be epic. We rented one like the one you’re using to do an exhaust fan on the side of a building. Beats standing on a ladder trying to lift it up
I just saw the other question and comments about Genie lifts. Now can you write out the info of the therm/defrost timer combo? What brand and model number again?
Man me and my dad do all those small coils old school just lift up both ends put screws in the side compartments than drill the holes in the hangers through the panel use 1/4 rods but you are spoiled lol with the hoist... if i have big coils or the ceiling is high i rent out a hoist or if i'm lucky the place has a forklift
Good vid. I Just Pulled out a Freezer Evap that was Held in by carriage bolts after 20 years. Bolts were still in Good condition after 20 years.nuts were seized on bolts though. I’ve Allways used Allthread , nuts & washers. How Long were those carriage Bolts ? I’m guessing 6” should be Perfect. 3” or 4” Box insulation. If it was a Cold climate & customer wanted a Warm wharehouse You Could put the Condensing unit inside the wharehouse to give them some “ Free “ Heat. I’ve seen wharehouses with the units on top of the Box. Not a Good idea usually unless a Very cold climate. Bummer You Can’t Get them to actually pour a Little Concrete Slab for the Unit. I Think a Couple 4 x 4 Redwod Beams Would Work better & Look nicer than that rickety old palet under the Condenser unit.
@@NorCal-refrigeration well i'm not lying damn ! lol he comments every video like its a police interrogation and you sittin under that hot ass light he might be a cali friend of yours but damn he always asking and giving advice yet i've never seen an install video from him lol he just does all small services
