Torrential rains caused flood damage mainly in Murakami City and Sekikawa Village in Niigata Prefecture, where I live. This is the heaviest rainfall in about 50 years.
A little further away in Tainai City, Shinbata City, and Niigata City, roads were also flooded and damaged.
This video shows the storm in Shinbata City, and you can feel the heavy rain and wind.
It poured down like a waterfall, hitting umbrellas and making it very difficult to walk.
This place also flooded more a few hours later and I was also in danger.
You walk along listening to the sound of the rain hitting your umbrella.
