I am so sorry I haven't been around in so long, I have been so busy with full-time work and other things and haven't had much time to make videos. Thank you so much for understanding and I hope you enjoy this cover!
So glad to hear you sing & play again, Amy! Fantastic job here by you & your dad. Hope to see another video soon whenever you have time to make one. :)
You are truly amazing, especially your father who has seen his dream of seeing you fulfilled as an excellent musician. Congratulations to both of you. And let the music unite them forever.
Really beautiful, these days after Don passed I was looking on the net about some of their songs and I bumped into you guys. You honour the Everly Brothers memory with your beautiful performance and you show a sweet bond of father&daughter. Thank you for sharing this.
Wow - so wonderful to hear the two of you singing this classic song by the Everly Brothers. I am certain Don and Phil would be pleased and delighted with your cover.
Thank god you're back Amy.Please try not to keep us waiting so long before your next video is coming up. I think Don and Phil will certainly appreciate this one.
I just looked at the full title ("..with my Dad") and now I get the context. I alreayd subscribed five minutes ago to Amy Slattery's channell. link from a web site, btw on her videos..
I love the videos your really passionate about music and it's very inspiring what you do and your one of the many musicians that inspire me to keep making music keep up the good work your doing phenomenal
Got a shock, watching your beatle covers and i must say your very talented, when your dad pops up and i know him lol, top house thurrock around late 90's early 2000's, he printed off a beatle cd for me of the boys in the studio chatting and sketching out songs it is very rare and i still got it. Obviosly the apple doesnt fall far from the tree because you take after him, keep it up ejoying your vids and say hi from an ex top house regular lol.
Welcome back and wonderful job! Hope you can squeeze in more time to make vids. You don’t have to go all out playing every instrument. Quick acoustic ones are nice as well ☺️
Relationships are complicated. The Everly Brothers also did a song on "love?" gone bad. Before the Everly Brothers, there was a Blues song that made it to the Pop Charts and was called "Blues in the night", which cries about false relationships and it was derived from a phrase in King Solomon's book called Ecclesiastes describing a deceitful woman.
I saw the Everly Brothers on one of their very last public performances, at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas a few years ago, before one of them died. (Which one?) Apparently they did not get along for many years, and had just begun touring together a few years before. On stage, they were not happy performers -- only one of them spoke the entire concert (90 minutes -- the Las Vegas almost mandatory maximum length -- get 'em back out there in the casino!). They simply went thru the songs as obligatory and walked off the stage. Sad. You two (Amy and Dad) are great with the two-part harmonies! And... we can easily see that while you are playing the same chord, they are never the same on the guitar neck! One high, one low! Just like the real Everly Brothers that I remember!
Saludos Amy, ya se te extrañaba en tu canal, he quedado maravillado con tus covers de The Beatles. Eres fantástica, Saludos desde México espero puedas leerme. :)
Love this. Thanks for posting it. How about doing another Evs - 'Let It Be Me' (I noticed that they had to lower the key when they were older). And/or combining The Fabs and Everlys by doing their version of Paul's 'On The Wings of a Nightingale'?
