Absolutely haunting to see such a beautiful but essentially empty downtown. The day after Thanksgiving is normally such a busy time for shopping so this emptiness is creepy on another level...
There needs to be more Scientology protest. I watch Scientology Audit Streets LA and I’m finally seeing the downfall of Scientology. Mark Bunker is doing a great job in Clearwater keeping Scientology in line.
@@peterdimarco1413 I do realize that; however, that type of work could be organized under a non-profit. The sad truth is that there are too many so-called "churches" that exploit the tax exemption.
@@sherlockholmes6990 then Shut Every Church in the State. Surely Jesus did not say not to tax anyone. Churches are man made. Go tell the Pope to start collecting tax I his city the Vatican.
I was born and raised in clearwater, remember in the 70s they came in a bought up hotels, motels, apartment complex. John Travolta used to fly is plane to clearwater Airport and walk down Cleveland Street to Satan's headquartes.😮
Kind of interesting to think how things change. Downtown Clearwater used to be bustling while Downtown Dunedin to the north was a ghost town. Now it’s the other way around, Downtown Clearwater (besides Coachmen Park concerts and a few random events) is pretty much dead while Dunedin has been thriving with plenty of events, shops, bars and restaurants. As a local resident, I really try avoiding Downtown Clearwater as much as possible, it creeps me out.
Can the “city sue”… for separation of church and state..since real estate is not in use and causing a vacuum in revenue.. forcing services to be cut back for tax paying citizens of the city. maybe challenge their tax exempts status … How can it be a tax exempt organization when it is not open to the public to attend?
@@ShieedI wouldn't go that far however I believe a lot of people join in a religion bc they want something better after death bc there to scared to accept that there's nothing
I LIVED IN THE CLEARWATER AREA FOR MANY YEARS,AND DOWNTOWN AREA WAS ALWAYS LIKE A GHOST TOWN,AND MOST PEOPLE IN THAT AREA,I BELIEVE DIDN’T LIKE SCIENTOLOGY!!
My wife and I walked thru downtown Clearwater and questioned all of the vacant “well kept” properties. No homeless people, clean streets. Thanks for your tour we had no idea about the Scientology presence.
There's a lot of homeless people here. Downtown, Clearwater, that little park. That's where they like to go during the day at night. They hang out on the trail. Be careful around the bridges. There's a lot of homeless camps under those hidden in the bushes. They keep the crime Hidden they don't want that. They don't want to scare the tourism.
Thank you for informing us about Scientology taking over one of the U.S towns, it is a disease that the are treating the whole town like crap. They also have a bunch of deaths to answer.🙏🙏
This makes me so sad. My aunt was a travel agent for Thomas Cook where the Starbucks is. Maas Brothers was downtown. It was a beautiful place to live and visit. Such a shame!!
So fun fact. The adjacent building connected by a bridge was the Ft Harrison hotel. In 1965, The Rolling Stones toured in Clearwater and stayed at the Ft Harrison hotel. In that hotel, they wrote the some “Satisfaction”. Apparently the room service was questionable.
@@RurbanWalker it was interesting to see the foundation for Lisa's video showing how deep Soo many of the cpd are deep in the pockets of this abomination. Including our wonderful chief Slaughter..
@@Kane_B2 you Know Nothing about these people. Do you feel safe with other churches? How have they ever hurt you,? These people never ever hurt me. I have learnt so much about them . I bet it have So much Hate in the heart. This is not about Love.
Downtown Clearwater in the 70’s was Cleveland Street from Missouri Avenue to the intracoastal(Coachman Park), today this area is cordoned off so that Scientologists(SeaOrgs members) can safely and quickly walk the streets and get e-metered. My dad ran a Porter Paint store on Cleveland St and I used to buy comics at a newsstand next to the post office there. No one really knows where “downtown” is anymore. We had our prom at the Jack Tar Hotel Ballroom which is now part of the Scientology complex. Sad. I still live in Clearwater by the Dunedin city limits.
I live in Clearwater and I walk in that same area where you are.IMO the church wishes to actually control the whole area just for their own use. Scientologists are not unfriendly but you can tell they kind of wish you weren't there when you encounter them walking around. They're not hostile, just not welcoming. They try to do things to include the community like a winter festival (that I think they still do, not sure), but I don't think the community is interested. And these events are not well attended by non-scientologists. People are sketched-out by them in general. As a resident non-scientologist I don't really care one way or another, but I know the city hates it because of the lost tax revenue , and the way the local economy is depressed. On the other hand when you see how over-developed the beach is, and how over-developed St. Pete is becoming (yes lively but way too over-developed) I kind of am glad for their "depressing" influence.
i live in clearwater they do run the downtown area and have other buildings around the city, when you have d rated politicians running the city the scientology will take what they want
I live here and have for 15 yrs. Clearwater is not a ghost town. It's bustling all the time. Scientology would LIKE to take over Clearwster but our government will never let that happen. It's a beautiful place to live.
The security guy was only Ky e to you because you aren't homeless, I've seen them wake people up in the middle of the night and harass them. A church is supposed to help the misfortune late not push them away it blows my mind they get to call themselves a church
Honestly I’m quite surprised he was able to get away with taking the video. I’ve been downtown many times. I lived fairly close by. There are video cameras everywhere! Downtown Clearwater is almost a ghost town because the “church “ buys every business that sells out. Then those buildings sit vacant.
Enjoyed the tour. Its very quiet. What time of day was your walk? It looked more used and vibrant back in the days of the Woolworth building! It's a pretty town and a shame the residents are blocked from so many areas especially as they don't appear to be using much of it themselves either. Hopefully Mark Bunker will get elected and get things moving. I see many viewers have suggested a reach out to A-aron's channel he's an ex scn and dud run for council too and has often spoken about the blockade of Clearwater by SCN.
I live close by , this makes me so angry , Clearwater could be a nice downtown similar to Sarasota/ St Pete with tons of awesome hipster places/ restaurants , but it sucks , and no one wants to go there or invest in it . Thanks for the great video !
I'm fairly sure Cruises condobis has an elevator just for a very special sports car. Poor Clearwater Downtown, scientology destroyed the ambiance. "Clearwater Beach has grown way too busy for my family. Scios drove us away after 40 years
Find out what's going on in that big metal Scientology building on the corner of Hercules and Calumet. Weird and creepy place, very big, only one door and no windows. Perhaps Scientology prison?

Waste of what used to be an amazing downtown. I'm 15 minutes away and I never go near the area except maybe for a show at Capitol Theatre. The whole city should be booming, but everything north of Court Street is a creepy ghost town full of intentionally vacant storefronts.
If that was the truth, it would have been closed a long time ago so don't believe what he says and don't forget, I am catholic and Jesus Christ was crucified . So much BS. Many of my friends are part of it and I have been there for some events and I don't see anything wrong with my friends and/or the church
I worked 4 years on that building as a contractor and the Church of Scientology always treated me nice and friendly I have nothing bad to say about them we did the chilled water system in the building all them buildings actually😊
Many of the buildings in downtown have windows papered with the same real estate groups so it looks like there are plans in place for significant rehab. It is nice to see rehab vs. tear downs. Still lots of empty buildings. What % of the city's population is seasonal? Snow birds usually arrive after December. Interesting video.
I live here lol 😂you forgot to show the park they own to hold party's and kidnap the curious 🤣. No joke Every now and then you might get a smile from one. Showing that they are still human. You didn't show all the hidden cameras they have everywhere , including The Bushes. And yes they also own on the beach now Sand opal hotel Look from the sky. Both hotels connected are a big S from the sky . Oh and they just bought both lots next to the j w marriott.😂 More people for them to kidnap.
Just Downtown, they have no influence inland or on the beaches. I have lived here since 1992 as a kid we use to screw with them. They don't exist to most of us here and are ignored.
Clearwater Scientology city of cult is the Mecca of Scientology leading in all America for Pedophilia Rape and human trafficking they are rated 8 in the Nation
Yeah, they've owned that city for decades bud. I've built many homes there and worked around the block many times and we also sold crack on Cleveland St. It's funny you mentioned Cleveland St right when I was spelling it out! 🤣 That was back in 98 as well, up on the hill passed the pool hall. Made a lot of bread and know a lot about the area.
Other than the daily Scieno foot-traffic in the immediate downtown area, downtown Clearwater is otherwise rather 'dead' most of the time, otherwise. "dead properties" "quite unusual"? It's been like that downtown for a long time, yo.
Sometimes you wonder what councilman or senator or mayor or all of the above who agreed to let them buy pretty much all of clearwater beach prime property without taxpayers consent or knowledge, some dirtbag (or dirtbags) made a lot of moola 😞
I worked at Fort Harrison for 10 years, and it used to be much more open to the general public. During my time there, I witnessed many instances of people entering the property with ill intentions, causing trouble and whatnot. On many occasions, individuals, including members of the press attempted to get in with cameras. Unfortunately, this may have spoiled the experience for genuinely curious visitors. However, if you're interested in learning more, you are welcome to visit the receptionist and ask questions-just avoid aiming a camera at them while doing so.
At 13 min that’s the public utilities building for the county city hall was across The street the knocked it down a few months before your video. The lot you referred to as 1.4 acres it’s actually across the street from that a developer was going to build a hotel and low income apartments to go with the new coachman park but he backed out. You got lots of not true facts fyi
When I was a kid I'd visit my Grandmother in Clearwater every summer until she passed away in 97. She lived in a place around Belcher and US 19. Suddenly I've been thinking of moving from out of state to Clearwater. If I moved anywhere near that part of Clearwater is scientology life there now or can I just ignore it and no big deal? I only ask because I see videos of Clearwater and people complaining about scientology on all the videos. I don't remember anything about scientology back in those days. Any thoughts you can share would be appreciated.
Not a lot of that in this area. There is some stuff around the Capitol Theater. There are a few restaurants that are still there. You want nightlife you cross the bridge and head for the beaches
Very nice quick tour of downtown clearwater. I live not far away and have been there or passed through there quite a few times. It is nice, clean, safe, peaceful and quiet. I cant recall a single incident where I ran into a rude or disagreeable Scientologist. Followers of this religion that I have encountered so far simply seem like decent people without any weird or creepy vibe about them. It seems they are selective about whom they lease their property to, and you can certainly argue that they are too selective and that there is room to liven things up a bit more. With regards to Scientology in general, I see them as part exclusive club, part cult, part Pyramid scheme and part legitimate religion. I can't say I ever supported the notion of buying your way into heaven, but their focus on learning and achievement I think has a positive influence on members.
Its not about going to heaven, it's going to a higher power. Going to a place that not many can travel to open up your chakras anitger eye in your mind. To make you believe there is more to being mad at the world just because they don't agree with you. I personally like them. I find them interesting people. They are smart. I enjoy positive. No negative in anything.
@@themeparkcheetahI’m not into cults or anything of the like however, there is a ton of self help going on in there. It’s how they lure people into giving them their finances. Providing solutions to desperate peoples simple problems is their hook.
I've learned about that group. Interesting but nothing they say can be proven. Even lets say they have some old but advanced tech or knowledge. That can be explained away which wouldn't support scientology. They are guessing just like the rest.
Downtown and Clearwater is a beautiful city. Come and see. We love it here. My family are not Scientologists, but we are friends with some and that is okay. We love our neighbors and live and let live.
@@brookehartley5085 I call bullshit!! You must be a Scientologist or getting ready to get indoctrinated. I live near this ghost-town too.
