What do we show you in this video? The Orava Fortress, an incredible fortress located on a 520-meter high cliff, which was built in the 13th century. The 112-meter-high limestone spur, shaped by the Orava river and its right tributary, became an ideal space for the construction of a defense fortress.
👉Visiting the fortress can be done according to the schedule displayed on the official website (www.oravskemuz...) , being 3 types of tours of the Orava Castle:
Main Tour (A) The Lower Castle
Western bastion
👉The Middle Castle: The Middle Courtyard, Corvinus Palace and the Residential Tower, The Exhibition of Natural History, The Exhibition of Period Furniture, The Ethnographic Exhibition;
The Upper Castle - the Citadel: Entrance hall, The Archaeological Exhibition, Mediatéka (Media Library),
👉Small tour (B) The Lower Castle: The Treasury of Orava Castle:
Entrance Hall, Column Hall, Castle Kitchen, Alchemist Workroom, Art Salon, Jewelery Room, The Exhibition of Historical Textiles, Sacristy.

The Orava Castle is such an amazing castle it’s one of my favourite castle of all time I loved the castle when it was used for 1922 film Nosferatu A Symphony Of Horror one of the greatest Dracula films of all time and a favourite film of mine I really loved how you visit the castle it’s amazing castle

4:13 I wonder what that orange building was for. It wasn’t there in 1922, and there were grass and trees in that courtyard.

That is the Fary building which hosts a modern multimedia Peat Museum. It also speaks about the mining region at the Slovak/Polish border. Was renewed and restored in 2018. I learned about the great fire ( 1800 ) which destroyed the castle - it is possible this building was lost at that time. The house is not a modern architectural insert so it is possible it was there in the (very) old times.

1:55 Forgive me for asking, but where does that door right by the entrance gate lead?

Honestly I don't know - we didn't explored that part. It is possible that is a small part reserved to the staff. It is at the main gate.

The shots are beautiful and good job! Short question, what permission did you get for filming and how much does it cost if you want to make video clips inside the castle, terrace, etc.? Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thank you very much ! To respond your question - the cost for filming was 5 euro. There are certain parts of the castle and of the museum where filming / photo is not permitted ( and these are superb spaces ).
