Daulatabad's beautiful garden contains one of the most original Iranian garden designs. The garden space is located in the middle of the complex and the buildings are built around it, just like other Iranian gardens. The beautiful Daulat Abad garden has four main buildings, which are the vestibule, Talar Tanbi and Sardar among these buildings. Also, several winter rooms have been built in this complex. The garden has two rectangular parts, and they form the inner and outer parts, which are perpendicular to each other. One of the most spectacular and distinguished parts of the garden's architecture is its tall windmill, which is more than 33.8 meters high. This octagonal windmill is the tallest windmill in the world. The combination of wind and water in this part of the building causes a cool breeze to blow from under the windbreak to the palace and halls.
Daulat Abad Garden has experienced various uses over time, such as a government residence. The outer garden was used as a place for government ceremonies, sports events and city administration. The inner garden was also considered a private part and a residence. Mohammad Taqi Khan was the head of the royal family of Yazd during the Zandiya period and contemporary with the rule of Karim Khan Zand. He decided to build a 65-kilometer-long aqueduct from Mehriz to Yazd, he did so and named this long aqueduct Daulatabad. This aqueduct, which originated from the heights of Mehriz, gave life and prosperity to that area. In addition, along the way, he irrigated many agricultural lands and set up several water mills. After building this aqueduct and giving life to the area, Khan Bozor built Daulat Abad garden in this place.

باغ زیبای دولت آباد یکی از اصیل‌ترین طرح‌های باغ ایرانی را در دل خود جای می‌دهد. فضای باغ در وسط مجموعه قرار گرفته و ساختمان‌ها در اطراف آن بنا شده‌اند، درست مانند سایر باغ‌های ایرانی.باغ زیبای دولت آباد چهار بنای اصلی دارد که هشتی، تالار طنبی و سردر از جمله این چند بنا هستند. همچنین چند اتاق زمستانی هم در این مجموعه ساخته شده است.باغ دو بخش مستطیل شکل دارد و اندرونی و بیرونی را تشکیل می‌دهند که به صورت عمود بر روی یکدیگر قرار گرفته‌اند. یکی از دیدنی‌ترین و ممتازترین بخش‌های معماری باغ، بادگیر بلند آن است که بیش از ۳۳.۸ متر ارتفاع دارد. این بادگیر هشت ضلعی بلندترین بادگیر جهان است. تلفیق باد و آب در این بخش از بنا باعث می‌شود نسیمی خنک از زیر بادگیر به قسمت شاه نشین و تالارها بوزد.
باغ دولت آباد در گذر زمان کاربری‌های مختلفی را تجربه کرده است مانند سکونت‌گاه حکومتی. باغ بیرونی به‌عنوان جایگاهی برای انجام تشریفات حکومتی، مراسم ورزشی و اداره امور شهری استفاده می‌شد. باغ اندرونی هم بخش خصوصی و اقامتگاهی به شمار می‌رفت.محمدتقی خان در دوره زندیه و معاصر با حکمرانی کریم خان زند، سرسلسله خاندان خوانین یزد بود. او تصمیم گرفت قناتی به‌طول ۶۵ کیلومتر از مهریز به یزد بکشد، این کار را انجام داد و این قنات طولانی را دولت‌آباد نام‌گذاری کرد.این قنات که از ارتفاعات مهریز سرچشمه می‌گرفت، به آن منطقه زندگی و آبادانی می‌بخشید. علاوه بر این در طول مسیر، زمین‌های کشاورزی بسیاری را سیراب و چندین آسیاب آبی را راه‌اندازی می‌کرد. بعد از ساخت این قنات و زندگی بخشیدن به منطقه، خان بزرگ، باغ دولت آباد را در این مکان بنا کرد.
