Unfortunately, many customers don’t really get that the G is not about being “all new”. They upgrade their cars every 2 years or so, and when something is labelled “all new”, they jump on it.
@@Fluterra unfortunately for me I just recently got a second hand 2020 G450d for Christmas, instead of a range rover sport, so this just makes me feel pressured into having to upgrade when I can't. Fortunately for me, the changes are so minor that no one will notice that I'm in the old Gwagon.
@@mclainsamson9711 I’m in a 2019 G550 (same gen as yours). Why do you feel pressured? Enjoy your ride! Honestly, the changes are a detriment, not an advantage. I hate the capacitive touch steering wheel design - our design is much better. The new suspension will be less reliable for sure.
I cant lie i was expecting more but at the same time I understand. There is a saying “if it’s not broken dont fix it”. Mercedes literally has a perfect ageless model in the G63. Making major changes can strongly affect the after market sales of the previous generation G63 which will decrease revenue as a whole on the model. Fairplay Mercedes!
That’s how marketing works. Tide can change the cap on its detergent dispensers and they can label it as all new legally even though the product and cleaning efficiency is the same. Same thing here with merc, don’t be so surprised
I bet a big part of the strategy is staying true to the originality of the vehicle and make sure it remains an exclusivity even on the used car market 😊
Still a legend, let the taste-less keep buying the Range Rover, and leave the G for those with real style, and the AMG version is definitely the best way of off-roading.
At 3:40 Viola says "Let's start with the interior.". Guess at some point they decided to switch. In any case, very beautiful and highly capable machine.
