Bolans is truly home. Where all my family from thanks for the walk through 😍. All the time I’ve been watching your Chanel didn’t know it’s Bolans you were from, small world.
Thank you for the tour. Remember to hydrate and not exhaust yourself. My grandfather is from Antigua. Your efforts are very well appreciated. Enjoy the holiday. Blessings.
Blessing King, your videos are like fresh air... As you're doing this tour of your youth, I did something like this with my children... They loved it. Stay blessed. 💯🇯🇲
Cuz I did not know there was a CO ( central office) in Bolands for the phone service. Awesome tour of our village I'm still sad about the old school got totally demolish. Somewhere I heard that School building was one of a few maybe only four that was built, that was a Historical School building. Restore as much as possible and build around it just like they done with Ball Beef ( Barrell Beef) School in Liberta. My wife is from Liberta anytime she get a chance she grind it in my face how they keep the original School building and add to it.
Thank you very much for this this video, Hensley...to see Bolans School right down to west end and the sadness of seeing the demolition of the police station, with hopes of them rebuilding a new one is good, but sad in the since that they could not see the opportunity of making the old building into a Bolans museum would have been great, just picture old pictures of the village house there. The new police station and courthouse could have been built on either site of the former building. I grew up in west end upon the hill from the Joint Juke bar, which was also a grocery store. The green house at the top of the hill is my grandmother's house (Miriam Simon) don't know if you knew her, but she's passed on now.
Great job, Biggs. Thank you for finally showing us the Alley area of Bolans. One thing I would suggest you do more of in your videos is to try and converse with the people you meet in the streets. I can vividly remember the names Reeny and Doreen, but I can't put a face to either name. Are they related to Teena? It was nice to see Poole Richards. Like so many people in Bolans in the 1970s, I got my regular hair cuts from the Richards brothers. Keep up the good work.
I don't know anything about Bolans... I only remember passing through it on the main road going to the beaches in the south of Antigua. So if I ever go there, I'd be lost for sure.
That's my Aunt house at the corner. Her name was Mrs Smith. Her son Carlton and her grandson still live in that house. My mother grew up in Boland. Her name was Maylyn Benjamin Ambrose. She used to bring us out there to isit our family. Her cousin was Victoria who owned that bar on the Mai. Street. Her nephew and my elder cousin David Smith recently passed.
