Cool! I had no idea there was one in Ontario that bottled their own milk. Even more interesting is the making of the natural gas. Very interesting video

I’ve tried to understand the biodigester and the scrubbing of the gas……it boils down to magic I think. People with big brains have that figured out thank goodness. It’s great that uses are being developed for the waste. Thanks for another great video.

We have a bottler in Appleton, Wisconsin "Lamers Daiy"where you can watch them bottle milk through a glass window. They still have glass bottles as well as plastic jugs. They used to deliver locally for years. That digester was cool. I hear that eventually every farm will be forced to have one.

Good job. I probably missed it, but what happens to the milk they don't package? In our area, the diaries are generating power from the methane, with power sent to the lical grid. We don't have the infastructure to tie into gas distribution.

A great tour, thank you to all involved with this. Interesting to see all the equipment needed. I would so much like to see the costings for it all and pay back periods etc. Sorry the accountant in me goes into overdrive seeing all that investment. Here in the UK there are Government Grants to install bio digesters. Do they recycle sand? With a bio digester does that mean there is no smelly lagoon. Have you had any thoughts to get a bio digester? How many cows do you have now for comparison? Nothing was said about the feed, it must take a lot of land to produce the food for 1700 cows.

its cool to see more and more farms selling direct to consumer. i know of at least 2 other dairies that are doing this in ontario creemore dairy has been doing it for a while and is even taking in milk from other farms at higher prices that the big guys and its a better product

I hope and wisg you setup a biogas digester in your farm for winter useage - Heating up the barn.
@MellowYe77ow
@MellowYe77ow 5 месяцев назад
They have radiant floor heating in the parlor, offices and water/electrical rooms. The free stall and pack barns are heated by the cows' body heat and regulated by the winter ventilation system. They generally keep it just above freezing. Any warmer than that and the barn becomes very foggy as soon as any of the feeding alley are opened on extreme cold days.
@vincentmutinda3586
@vincentmutinda3586 5 месяцев назад
@@MellowYe77ow Due to the weather, the compost will not mature fully. Having a biogas to generate electricity, they will hit a trifector: good manure, electricity and less bills.

How many cows would you need to be milking to justify the cost of installing the bio system? Seems like it would be an excellent investment.
