Thank you for watching, please give me a thumbs up and comment if you liked this video! I also want to be clear that I am a Walker fan because of this mower but I have absolutely no connection to Walker, this isn't sponsored and I receive nothing from them.
Just some more great news from bob walker 😁 walker is coming out with a new consumer model Walker mower for under $6000 for the homeowner😁 will tell you more on Friday from the walker open house in Colorado 😁👍🏻
@@captainlarrynosleepfishing5350 That's awesome. I think they have big potential to make a more affordable version of this. I saw that open house. I would have loved to be able to go. Have fun and let me know!
@@deedrabbit That would be one amazing prize! Can I enter too? I appreciate you watching, not sure it will be a Walker but I do have another contest coming very soon.
I have used walkers for 20 years and have a number of them, can’t beat them for leaf cleanups. One other thing that is amazing from a commercial standpoint is using a grass handling system Walker like you have shown in the video but also purchasing a $2500 mulching deck and after the fall/winter clean ups switching to the mulching deck. They are unbelievable, I can honestly mulch a foot deep in leaves with no debris, occasionally I will go over this twice but I’m not collecting leaves, having to stop and dump or having to go to the county dump and pay $, I only switched over 2 years ago and it is an unbelievable time saver and money maker.
If this is model S you’re talking $10. Model D takes the cake at $20. So respect a landscapers price for his work if you see him/her with one of these. Put some RESPECT on their name and business because they’re not about games.
I’ve used walker for 2 years and this is my 3rd season, I just purchased the walker T27i for $17k. Just make money guys, get out there, work your ass off and do the best job, you’ll build up a client list. I mow 45-55 lawns per week with the walker no problem. With the new machine I’m expanding and my goal is 75 lawns a week (solo). Happy cutting season!
@@goatation How fast are they cutting. I think it would be hard to switch up from the current standers I run. Less the walkers have decent cutting speeds etc.
@@danzuber2701 my T27i and myself go through 50-60 lawns a week solo under 50 hours, I went Walker 3 years ago, then was able to upgrade quickly just by performance alone. The cut quality, maintenance, maneuverability all really adds up to a great machine, I believe I’ll be purchasing another new one in just a few short years as I expand.
I first saw this mower on, “outdoors with the Morgan’s”. He tried several mowers over a few months and kept coming back to this one as his favorite. He couldn’t nail down exactly why, but you clarified it all. Thanks!
Now that would be cool I know they had some special edition one in black or gray . It was crazy money but it did look pretty cool. I like the accent idea too!
They have a lot of stuff. I wish I could buy everything. They even used to sell an aerator that when on the front of this mower. Long gone but they have a lof of stuff.
I have a bobcat zt120, basically the same design. Bought it used with 200 hrs for $3000. Great for lawns with lots of flower beds and pools, the grass doesn’t fly everyplace! One reason I believe it gives you a better cut is because of the extra suction from the blower and less weight on the cutting deck. Not pushing the grass down. My mower is almost 20 years old and saves me so much time on clean ups, just suck up the leaves and dump! Great alternative to a walker.
Hit piece of steel hiding in bush, locked the blades and think snapped piston. It's from the 80's, old 11hp Briggs. Problem is until I open it up won't know if tore up block any and if good don't know where to find parts, so far most stuff that old I find says obsolete
I've got a friend who has a landscape company and they also offer maintenance. He is selling a T 25 with the 27 HP motor and 1300 hours. His company is big on maintaining their equipment so I'm pretty sure the machine has been taken care of over the last two years. He's asking $7500, which according to a local dealer I talked with, is a good price. I was a little hesitant in buying the machine but I've always wanted a Walker but didn't want to pay for a new one. But the nudge I needed was watching your video and seeing that there is a possibility to let it pay for itself by offering leaf clean ups. One question I have is how does it do with long needle pine straw? I'm in South Carolina and pines grow like weeds down here and they tend to clog a normal bagging system. Thanks for the informative video.
I used to have a Walker mower when I had my landscaping business I did it part-time just doing residential that thing was awesome definitely made the lawn look like a million bucks if I ever got back into Landscaping or grass cutting again I would buy one of these in a heartbeat you can really make some good money doing spring tine dethatcher and leaf cleanups thanks for the video very informative and a pleasure to watch what's your opinion on the Exmark Walker type mower?
I have mowed lawns commercially for near 40 years have tried the several brands over that time including this machine I buy Scags nothing much ever seems to go wrong and most everything is field repairable
There are a lot of Scag guys that love their machine. BUT did you know that Scag used to make a machine just like this? It was the Scag Cougar and sadly they stopped making it! i wish they kept it.
have used walker for yers but ive fallen in love with the ex mark navigator for fall cleanup/ cut quality. We've got both on our trailer ex mark is definitely heavier and damages tree rings/landscaped plant bed yards if you do the same thing each week. Walker is lighter/tighter steering and barely tears up/"ruts" lawns
After dethatching about 10,000 sq ft of my lawn and then raking it all up getting one of these sure is tempting as it can dethatch AND pick up the debris in one sweep. I have a lot more property that I need to cut in back besides the 10k around my house. I think if my Toro ZTR died I'd pick one of these up. Thanks for the video.
This mower has more wheels to turn so it’s won’t cut as fast as your toro turn radius is wider proper 3 point turns will be longer opposed to your toro keep that in mind I seee these walkers as situational mowers clean up only on my opinion and the best clean up mowers out there but cut quality your toro which is really an exmark will cut better if you have the commercial grade toro not the residential
Another big reason to buy one is gas powered leaf blowers are being outlawed in many towns around the US wich is something that can devastate my business luckily I bought used and will never be without one again
I have been using Walker for a couple of years now. For Commercial usage very limited. Excellent at sucking up leaves. It will put down better strips if you change the back wheels to the double tire and less turn most at the same time. Sell the snowblower attach Imo used it for 1 New England winter spent most time suck in snow and it absolutely killed the machine so many repairs in the spring.
Wow what timing! I was leaving work today and the landscaper at my workplace was using this machine. Last year I saw him with a front mounted plug aerator I think on one of these mowers. I was amazed at the manuverabilty of his machine. I looked into one of these machines myself, but like you said they cost a lot. I bought a Husqvarna MZ5225 which has served me well over the years but definitely not a walker. Great video! Hope the mower serves you well! I'll be wishing I had your leaf pickup capability here in a few weeks as we get further into fall. Take care.
I appreciate the comment a lot, once you know them it's incredible how many of them you will see out there. They have grown very fast with their capabilities.
I wish I knew how to go about charging for cleanups. I own a pool buisness and have considered numerous times purchasing a walker mower because of how great the grass collection system is. To a pool guy that means alot. Keeping grass out of the pool
We have 4 of those on our landscaping here in Worcester. They do way more them just now a lawn we do condominiums with them and they collect all the leaves and debris. There is no mower like this walker .
We bought a walker in 2001 with a 48" deck. It's slow. In 2016 We bought a T27i with a 52" deck, it's faster but still slow. This summer I bought a used 74" deck and it's faster then our cheetah scag with a 61". All these years I thought walker was slow but now I love using the 74" deck on big yards. Cuts the time in half.
A very well engineered machine that seems to do an outstanding job. It would be hard to justify the cost for most homeowners even if they could afford one but a great machine for a pro landscaper.
Very nice, I'm about to get rid of my 1980s dynamark with rear discharge 5hp vac attachment on the back (runs like a champ still) for a walker model so I can have more room on my trailer, in shop, and mow smaller yards they call me up I'd normally have to turn down.
The easy acess deck is neat but it does come at a cost in terms of profile, dont see the visibility advantage compared to a Z, and the box do restrict visibility to the back.
Yes I agree about the bag. The controls are totally different than anything else but they seem to be easy to love after a while. They offer a different rear wheel option that spaces them out if you want a different look. I have checked it out but haven't bought it yet. Walkers has a million options but they are not cheap for any accessory!
Some day, however i think i need a truck, & trailer 1st. gunna have to settle on my Honda HHR to mow, & my Cub Cadet lawn vac for leaves for a bit yet, they're paid for already.😆 The place i bought my HHR from has Walker mowers, i would really like to try one.
@@sergeyb8 Yup.You can buy a Honda fit or this but these machines have a potential to make you many times there price and they still get insane prices when they sell used. So a good investment.
Walkers are great for smaller accounts, but otherwise they're too small and too slow. They vacuum well and are great for cleanups, but during the peak growing season they're too slow and it's too time consuming to keep dumping. I have one...its older and a great machine but I've replaced it with the Exmark Navigator which is essentially a knockoff of the walker... but it has a few better features.
@@salonsoares2179 I would like to see that. My Walker is older but it's a 3 cylinder Kubota gas engine and it's NEVER out performed any of my Lazers except on smaller lawns and where bagging is required. In May when the grass is growing 8 inches per week and the dew is heavy in the morning, you couldn't use that mower without clogging or moving at 1 mph. I also have a Walker walk behind mower...hydrostatic with a 54" deck. It's one of my best cutting mowers EVER but their proprietary solenoid (electric activated) drive system fails regularly so we rarely use it. It just sits around.
Yes 😀It is a great cut. I would not use it on lots bigger than 1" acres of turf though. They win the speed contest in ntighter spaces, Walker will lose on very large open areas and field mowing
Sure, not a ton of snow but you can see it in use and some of what I liked and what I didn't: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lLp8Tk9NrfM.html
I have not but I really like them they look very capable. They aren't popular at all here. My guess is that it's a lack of dealers and not a product issue.
I haven't ever seen either of those for the Walker. By itself it leakes some pretty nice stripes. Not as pronnounced as a roller but very good for the speed. The light in this video doesn't show it as nice as it is but it does an admirable job as-is.
Silver Cymbal we got ours from a friend it’s a 725k it’s a really good one it’s gas and we don’t bag because we live in nc and it’s hilly in our front area so we just don’t bag it
I also heard that before I bought it and I have several hills some are very steep and this machine has been 100% fine even with a full grass box. Not sure where that comes from. They mae an anti-hll kit that locks the back wheel which helps it track better but it hasn't been a problem to warrant even getting that kit.
They offer another wheel option that spreads out the back wheels. I think if you saw it in person it looks pretty nice. But I get that everyone has their own tastes especially with lawn striping which can be a hot topic.
I heard that a lot and was very concerned about buying one. I almoat never bring anything to a shop and like to do all my own work. After almost 2 years of use I have not had any issues with the machine. I am not a fan of the older units but some of the problems may just be non-sop hard use and they are older. The T25i models and up seemed to get things right. I hope my good mechanical luck continues. I have had an Exmark Navigator and Toro ZMaster that were nightmares breaking all the time.
Not sure I agree with that, I couldn't even find any info on them before I bought it. Like a secret club. Then I met a few guys that used them and loved them. They are great machines, I don't know why Exmark stopped pushing their Navigator it had so much potential.
@@Orefamilylawncare I totally get that. They are very popular in New England. Must be what dealers are around pushing them more maybe? I have some different mowers coming this summer too.
I totally get it, if you can work one into a business plan then they can make you money but the initial spend is big. They do have a payment plan which is how 95% of all us us buy them.
I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ru-vid.comUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
Back in 2010 wish that I had bought a 23I/48"ghs walker instead of smaller mc20/ 48 ghs model i pain 10,500.00 for. Sold it in 2012. I about bought a 23 efi/62" discharge deck model for 9,700.00 plus tax back in 2017. Bought a John deere x590 instead. Should have gone ahead and bought that walker mower.
Hopefully not with the newer machines but I have heard the older machines had some issues. I almost never pay anyone to work on any machine I own though so I wonder how much is just labor bs that shops charge.
I have one these and it is without a doubt the biggest pieces of shit ever made. Might be ok in clay or compacted soil. In Sandy soil or dry soil the rear mounted bagger shakes dirt right over the engine. Even with religious oil changes and filter care, a huge amount of dirt gets in the engine. Engine life for me is under 800 hours on the original Kohler before it was worn out. The fans for the bagger wear quickly. Plan on replacing it after 400 hours. If you order the mower without the bagger, you end up with mower that is slower than a cheaper mid mount zero turn.
There is Nothing special about the deck. Lot of commercial mowers have heavy gauge reenforced welded decks. Look at a SCAG deck, makes a walker deck look like a Tonka toy.and parking brake is crap. It won't hold it on the trailer, so you have to strap it down between lawns.
For home owner with irrigated lawn, this mower will last a long time. For pro cutter cutting in dry or Sandy soil, this mower is a money loser. I have owned and cut with Ferris, SCAG, snapper, Ariens, Husqvarna and Exmark. All make good mowers. I wouldn't recommend a Walker mower to any professional unless they use it to cut small. Manicured, irrigated lawns. I will say they leave a beautiful cut.
@@jimbo5635 Walkers are well suited for a higher end lawn for sure. If you're cutting junky patchy lawns that will tear these up. Some mowers are tanks and some are for fine finishing. Its too bad most people don't really care about their grass. They just want it short
I mean for bagging always been the best but cut quality no way dude!!!???? Third caster doesn’t give off a great clean look to me you do a test with this mower on a good manicured lawn a big lawn and put it against a lazar z or scar tiger stripping and cut quality would be cleaner than the walker any person or customer would be able to see that especially if they are used to the stripping of a lazar z or scag and that’s the difference maker
The cut is better on the Walker. Try one yourself, the vacuum pickup is unbelievable.. In New England these are used on every premier property because of the cut and pickup, we get lots of pine needles and debris and the lots are getting smaller and smaller and these maneuver in tighter spots. On open yards, larger lots I would choose a Deere, Scag or Exmark. Not saying the other brands don't deliver great cuts but there is a reason people are buying these Walkers for crazy high prices from a company that no one even heard of 10 years ago.
Silver Cymbal but that’s my point I have cut with these before and the vaccum you refer to is caused because of the bagging system it’s suppose to but the reason why nationally guys don’t use these as number one when pickup is not needed is because side dis charge is usually a quicker/better situation I always prefer mulching or side discharge outside of fall leaf pickup especially in growing season is best to use clippings as more nutrients are reused but I mean using it all year around is not the norm for most compared to say using a scag tiger for pure cut quality and time management..... and no this doesn’t cut as good as a scag nor have natural suction when side discarding as say something like a scag..... not to say these aren’t good mower cause they are
I have owned two Navigators and they are excellent machines but sadly Exmark dropped any attachments, including their snowblower. Toro has now relabeled the Navigator under a new name. I like them but Navigators resale value is awful they sit for sale for a very long time. Good machines but Examark should have kept up better support for them.
I'd be afraid of gettin flipped out of that thing. Don't like zero turn radius go cart mowers. Their dangerous, and people has gotten killed on those things.
Now send that to Germany have them built it in conjunction with Honda for drive train and you'll have a great machine...."Made in America" sticker , thanks to most American manufacturers means UNRELIABLE and huge cuts in quality in exchange for profit.
They actually sell these in Germany and people love them there I have watched many videos on them. The Kohler engine in these works great too. I hear you that plenty of products dropped in quality in the US but this isn't one of them. You do pay a lot for it though. Check out the BMW forums for their cars today, no even close to what they were 20 years ago.
To em there’s nothing special it’s just another mower I have a garden tractor with a triple bagger and it does just as well do I want one yes is it crazy cool no but it definitely is a cool machine
LOL. NO not every landscaper wants a supposed commercial lawnmower that's built with thin steel like a residential mower. If landscapers want a mower like that they should get the Toro or the Exmark version!! Those 2 are actually Commercial grade.
I owned a Toro ZMaster 3000 and 2 Navigators and while they are nice machines the cut wasn't as good. The Navigator is pretty much abandoned by Exmark. Dealers hardly stock them near me and they discontinued the snowblower and other accessories. The other bad part is try selling a used Navigator there are several that are 2 years old that guys can't even sell for 60% of what they paid. Not saying they aren't nice but support, parts and accessories matter and Walker has that wrapped up. Not sure about the thick metal stuff, the Walkers are built tough and their decks are awesome. Personally I really like the Exmark Zero turns in that category if speed is the #1 need for huge spaces.
As someone who runs a lawn care business in NKY i can say I’ve never seen any company use these because of the price and the fact they can’t be used on any type of hilly terrain. Agree to disagree I suppose.
@@brandonmurphy6800 we use them on a few of our high end HOA sites that required to collect the grass every week. Any other system would be a disaster considering we fill a 8 yrd dump trailer every time we service the property. it all depends on the application. I do agree that they are horrible on hills. lol
I heard that before I got this model and I have several hills that are very difficult. I haven't had any issues at all. I go up and down and also sideways without problems. But I guess it depends on the particular hill but I had seen a few reviews where people said they were underpowered too and I have no issues with that either
Learn to not follow the contour of the landscape! That will make.you money! I'm 52 and have 31 years experience! Straight lines look way better. Those curvy contour lines are pathetic! Weed wacker LMAO. It's a string trimmer. I don't see any weeds like in the woods! Lol.
