Edessa is a city in Macedonia, seat of the municipality of Edessa and capital of the Pella Regional Unit in the region of Central Macedonia, and seat of the Holy Metropolis of Edessa, Pella and Almopia. The city is famous for its 12 waterfalls.[2]
it is located on the ancient Via Egnatia. It was founded in 813 BC. by the first Macedonian king, Heraclides Karanus and was the first capital of the Macedonian Kingdom.[3]
