This is a narrated walking tour video of Broadway in Seattle's Capitol Hill. The walk begins at Broadway and Mercer and ends at Broadway and Pine by Seattle Central college. This was filmed at around 9 am in late April 2021.
I have so many memories of Charlies! I used to live above US Bank on Olive and Broadway. Next to Hollywood Video then now Hollywood Lofts! Down by Dicks such amazing memories.
I'm so glad I found your channel! Your videos are very informative but also relaxing to watch! They help a lot in figuring out which neighborhood I want to eventually move to in Seattle. Thanks!!
I love having a walk ,and drinking my coffee with you . Makes my day so much better during this present situation . Thank you , 😊 blessings to you , and your beautiful family 🙏
I loved this so very much. I lived very close to Broadway and all my jobs were at the Swedish Hospital area when I lived in Seattle. I didn't have a car so I walked on Broadway and area for most of the things I needed to do. That QFC was there then.
Love this video! I lived at Broadway and Harrison in the early 2000’s and would go to Dicks after a long night out lol! Great burgers I thought. It is amazing to see all the new construction along Broadway. Keep the videos coming!
Love Dick's Dinner. I went to the other one as my hotel was near the Space Needle. Dick's burger, cola and fries for $9, brilliant value and great vibe. Nice walk again Dennis.
Very Nice video! My Dad owns the property where you started your walk, where Herb & Bitter now resides! It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and my Dad bought the building and property to help out the Restaurant. Later, Starbucks and Safeway took over the location. My Dad, who had passed away in 2017, still runs the propery through a Family trust! We lived out in the Ravenna neighborhood, but I used to see movies at the Broadway Theater and loved to go to Dicks on Broadway!
I've often wondered if Kurt didn't kill himself would Nirvana be remembered the same way it is, or they have ended up like the legion of other grunge bands that just faded away with the changing zeitgeist?
@@Thumbelina77 He had a well documented history of clinical depression and heroine use, neither bode well for someone. I'm sure his volatile relationship with Courtney Love probably didn't help things either. But conspiracies about his supposed murder have little, if any, evidence behind them.
I will be visiting Seattle in May 2021> Capitol Hill is one of my pit stop. Thank you for your informative vlog's. I would like to see you in a walking video tour of Bruce Lee's Grave and other Dignitaries Resting in peace at Lake View Cemetery. I happen to be Filipino and east Indian. Any good Indian restaurant in Seattle. Salamat Po >>>Thank You
I know it’s hard to get ro West Seattle, but could you do a walking tour of the Alaska junction area? Ive been riding this out in Port Orchard with my mom and haven’t experienced my home town since early March 2020. Many thanks and love your videos!
This video is helpful. I'm from Canada... thought about trying Dicks but I'm unfamiliar with the train system. At least I know what station to get off. Do you know if the train has an all day pass? That would save a lot of money
I once saw Kurt Cobain at a Jack In The Box just off Broadway on Denny. In early 1992. But I thought no it couldn't be him....but turns out I found out only about 4 years ago he did hang out there because it was close to his heroin dealer. Loved him.
@@LaoOcean it's a Mexican place now I'm think from CHOP videos. I moved away in June 1992 so it's been a while. They have pretty good food. Dick's is better though.
buy a bag of cheeseburgers a throw in the freezer, they microwave real well, and that was the Congo rom across the street before Lion O reilly ,bj Monkey shine's
First of all, it's 9:00 am. Secondly, Covid obviously killed the nightlife scene on broadway but you just wait until this summer. The Hill will be brought back to life and will be as poppin as ever.
Broadway, and Seattle, used to be way cooler. Now all the cool stuff and interesting people have disappeared, replaced by programmers and martini bars. Boring conversations by boring people with only money on their minds.
