Such false advertisement. Their new "schtick" should be revised as "The dialogue and very minor pointless actions in the game is tailored by how you play because the story ends relatively the same regardless of what you pick..."-Telltale Games.
i MaximusVGA Wait... You're joking right? The walking dead games aren't even an original idea... They were stolen from another franchise. Not to mention it's not even a game with multiple endings. On top of that it takes them ages to make and EVEN THEN the visuals are utter garbage and still full of bugs. TWD is NOTHING compared to heavy rain and until dawn.
Actually, Troy's character model was originally meant to be Carver, according to my sources. They decided to redesign him last minute, and made the old model they created Troy. The deleted scenes you were talking about were from Episode 3.
@@SirBlackReeds Well, maybe "last minute" was just poor wording on my part. My understanding is that the reason "Troy" is seen in Carver's place in Episode 1's Next Time segment, and why he's on the thumbnail, was because at that time, they were using that character model for Carver. However, Carver's role in the story laid out so far, was small, as another idea for season 2 that was scrapped, was originally Kenny was going to be Carver. Season 1's lead writer, Sean Vanaman, and lead designer, Jake Rodkin, both left telltale after finishing Season 1 to found their own game company, Campo Santo, with their first game under that company being Firewatch. Vanaman did do some additional work for future walking dead installments before he left. Most notably, he was the lead writer of Russell's story in 400 days, and he created and designed the seven cabin survivors we meet in Season 2 episode 1. Vanaman had 1 more story idea that was changed later on, and that was that Carver was going to be revealed to be Kenny's surname, and Clementine would be horrified to learn about how Kenny has gone crazy now. After Vanaman left, the new writers decided that if Kenny was coming back, an antagonistic role, wouldn't work. So, they decided to give the name Carver to a new character. Although they do reference that original idea in Episode 5, with Jane warning Clementine that Kenny might become like Carver. This new Carver's role wasn't that big, and after Michael Madsen was cast as Carver, they decided that the character model they were using for Carver in the posters and early trailers didn't fit well with Madsen's voice, so Carver was redesigned. Rather than discard the old character model, they instead made us of it by giving Carver an extra goon to have with him and dubbed it Troy. And since that character model was still technically in the game, they didn't have to go back and change the posters. Another source I remember reading said that the reason Troy didn't have any lines ep 2, was simply they hadn't cast one for him yet. A voice actor, Owen Thomas (who also voiced Omid), was cast during production of ep 3. According to Owen, there were a lot of deleted scenes in ep 3, that he recorded lines for, that made Troy come off as worse than Carver, which is when Jane shooting him in the dick would've been even more satisfying.
@@poptartmilkman I just love how you gave an answer after 3 years like it would've been yesterday! most of the people won't respond. and yes I find it really interesting how they were planning to set up season 2. I think the final carver was also a lot scarier than troy.
I don't think Clementine's reaction was negative, but more of shock. A person would be trying to process everything for a few seconds before they actually show any other emotions.
If Lee was wearing his leather jacket from Episode 2, he wouldn't have been bitten. The trailers and thumbnails showed Lee in his jacket. You forgot to point that out.
@@MariusBoss11458 the thing is that leather jacket Lee has on is actually pretty thick, thicker than Clem’s jacket in season 2. There could had been a chance that he would had lived if he had it on
Season 2 episode 3 was a huge disappointment, their original ideas seem so much better. Also how come there wasn't an option for Troy to be a determinate character. Also the 400 days character should have played bigger roles, like an option to convince them to join the group and escape.
Originally all of the 400 days Character will be the antagonist in episode 4 which play the Russian's role but because of the Deadline with all the budget and Developer were move to The Wolf among us so they rewrite the episode (especially ep 4 and 5, they rewrite ALL)
Yeah and originally, Clementine was supposed to die in Episode 5 of Season 2, which the title was going to be called: "Better to sleep", rather than "No going Back", symbolizing her being a "dead girl walking" by Carley in a deleted nightmare scene from Season 1 , and Eddie (from 400 Days DLC) was originally supposed to take Arvo's place in Episode 4 of Season 2.
Nick Fairall I think it would have been better if it were Eddie cause I hate arvo but I know it wouldn’t make sense because of the whole Russian group sub plot
Also something very interesting, what hasn't been mentioned in this video: Actually, Telltale planned Kenny to be the villain at the end of season 2. But Telltale changed their mind for whatever reason. That has been stated by Gavin Hammon (Kennys VA), but I can't find the interview anymore.
14:00 Nah I'd disagree and says it's grasping for straws saying the way Clementine said, "I thought you were dead," was misleading. Her expression could be explained off believably as shock and disbelief. She's basically seeing a "ghost." It's how Clem usually talks/reacts. I'd probably react the same way.
It's so cool how passionate you're about Twd most RU-vidrs that played the game don't even talk about it anymore. I'm glad there's someone who loves this game as much as I do 👌
i actually love lee's coat in season 2 i wish he just wore it the entire season though P.S I just realized that duck shows like he's not bitten in the thumbnail of episode 3 my lifes a lie
Originally Kenny was considered for the antagonist of S2 taking Carver's role as the leader of a community. Troy was supposed to be more malicious and implied to be a sexual predator.
I think Troy’s character model was initially intended to be Carver. However, the developers found a good voice for Carver that didn’t really match Troy’s model so they changed it.
Skizzle well they still should of stick with the dark story if it was season two would of been the best season or if they just made the story a little bit better
I think it would've been more dangerous for Rebecca to have had her baby at Carver's. At least to me, the baby came out looking a lot like Alvin. Especially in the next game coming up as well. I don't think he would've been too happy to have found out the baby wasn't his. That was part of the reason why he wanted Rebecca back so bad wasn't it? Because he was under the impression that the baby was his? Of course I could always be wrong, and he could be mixed, but just look more like his mother. My brothers and I are White/Filippino, and some of us have a dark complexion while the other may have a lighter complexion (which can look completely opposite depending on which parent) so who knows...
I’ve been the same age as Clementine through the hole game series, So in the first season it was like a child trying to protect a child which I love because the thought of young me being a protector just warms me up in all the right places
The skeleton in the S2 E5 thumbnail looks like it's wearing Lee's clothes when he died. I know there's no way in hell that's Lee cause he's still in Savannah, but it's still pretty interesting to see that in there.
Notice how when carver was talking it said: we can find it in our hearts to forgive them” and it was showing BONNIE. But I mean, no we can’t. It’s Bonnie.
@@seanfernandez4234 One thing which is dumb. I didn't handcuffed Lee and I shot him. But in Season 4 Episode 2 The game thinks you Handcuffed him. Now when you get into Season 4 and you don't import your save it never gave you an option about handcuffing him or not. It's weird it's like that. Wish in the Definitive Edition they could have made a line if you don't handcuff him.
I didn't see anything pointing out on how Ben was actually holding a gun, was using it (Lilly trains Ben on how to use the rifle later on), and had a different VA in the season one, episode 2 preview. In other words, Telltale changed Ben to be less competent, less brave, and more like a whiny teenage brat. Not to say it wasn't a good choice, just that the preview showed a different character than we got. Which means that Ben wasn't always the little screw up he was in the actual game.
The trailer for the second episode of season I one of the things you missed was carley being the one giving out the food, and she handed lee a energy bar
In case no one said it yet about S2 Ep2's trailer, the original idea was Kenny would be the leader of the community, this however was changed to Carver who also had a smaller role, but was enlarged because of his voice actor. Though this next part regarding the same Ep, Supposedly Troy was just used as a place holder for Carver, however I don't remember where I found this information so I can't really back it up.
Teaser + Trailer = Teasler? Actually, the bandits are antagonists while the St. Johns are the villains. So Troy doesn't speak in the teaser for S2E2 on Xbox 360 or Xbox One? He does on the PS4 version. Troy is beta Carver. The S2E3 teaser actually contain the most significant amount of changes. The bucket event never happens, that bit with Carver and Clem on the rooftop never happens, the "storm is on the way" line never happens, for starters.
the difference of episode 3 was that Kenny was beaten up by a gun and episode 4 difference is that Jane was still dirty and everyone else was bloody and usually, Clem shouts Sarah's name and they are still dirty
I noticed something during the beatdown. It showed Carver beating Kenny with the butt of a gun... in the actual gameplay he beat him with a walkie-talkie. So possibly the walkie talkie scene wasn't going to happen?
What i think about the art style in S2 ep5 is the dead walker is Suppose to be Lee. And the title is No Going back. like it meant that No going back to the old days and Clem shoud be more on her own and more to be grow up as the time past. Like Lee always say to "Grow Up now, because your not a little girl anymore"
I assumed the "I thought you were dead" reveal was going to be Christa. I never assumed anyone from Season 1, especially not Lilly since she had that whole storyline at the prison (from the books)...
u forgot lots of diferences on the first one: clems clothes, lee running in the bushes, lilly aiming the saint jhon's and the scene where kenny says there will be war, oh and the scene where larry is looking at lee, and katjaa saying thanks for saving duck
How Did Telltale Change the Story? By giving us some of the most ass choices I have ever witnessed. -EDIT- How does tatted Russian go from semi-auto to a fucking... was that a pump action rifle? A pump action rifle he was shooting with only ONE hand???
Even so, there should've been quite a few bodies on the ground before then, and how do you lose a semi...? You might run outta ammo sure, but that is a big ass gun. It's not gonna get 'lost' unless your legally blind lmao.
around 19:51 notice that Carver is holding a revolver in his hands while beating the shit outta Kenny! but in reality he had the radio, that Kenny returned to him. Just wanted to point out.
You know, guys, the trailers doesn't show what will effectively happen to avoid the spoil (But of course, there are some mistakes, like Troy being replaced by Carver). To say it directly, the trailers aren't about "This will happen", but rather " Something like this will happen".
I thought if I didn't shoot Lee in season 1, he'd come back in season 2 and had my hopes up when I saw the Episode 5 preview image because the skeleton wears very similar clothing to Lee. (and I was disappointed, obviously) Most misleading shit right there.
I could be wrong, but I think there was a time in development where there wasn't any dialogue options for reacting to Kenny's reveal as being alive. I wouldn't say Clementine sounded unhappy in this instance, it was more just pure shock than anything else. Then again, it could have also been Lily she was saying this to. It would have been interesting if this took place in a separate scene or something, though. I also have to wonder if Carver and his group would have taken a more ally -type of route with Clementine's group depending on the choices you made. In other words, perhaps Carver could have at one point (depending on your choices) been less brutal. Have no idea on that though.
The most misleading thing in telltales the walking dead is the teaser for season 3. Nothing that happened in the teaser actually happened, javi was younger and he was actually part of the new frontier as you can see the new frontier mark on him. The short teaser looked more interesting than anything that happened in season 3 imo
lazures HD i think Telltale know that they fucked up with A New Frontier, I have a feeling they will retcon it or just make have very little significance in the final season
