Hi Paul, I found your great channel via this Deenethorpe video whilst off work ill with the flu & i have binged watched lots of them now. Thank you for getting me through a rough week!! Really enjoyed viewing them. A few thing's you may find of interest regarding Deenethorpe. There are several more surviving buildings in Site 9 over the road. a few old BCF (British Concrete Federation) accommodation blocks & shelters. It was indeed a runway you where walking up by the way. As is often the case it has been reduced to just a thin farm road (Concrete would have ended up as hardcore under one of the nearby major roads no doubt) & is runway 26-10. The tower was demolished early 1996 as far as i'm aware.

I visited those old BCF buildings back in 2003 ..... didn't realise they were still standing.

Great video, I last Remembrance sunday I cycled around 6 local old bases love the memorials at them, visited Jings Cliff, Spanhoe, Deenethorpe, Grafton Underwood where I spend ages talking to Kevin Flecknore who looks after the memorial, and told me the history of the airfield and also Polebrook that I visited afterwards, then finally Glatton on my way back to Peterborough

Thank you Great to see, again a visit site for me in the early 80's when living in Peterbro' If memory serves there was a scrapyard run by a family which was on part of the airfield and had some of the WWll Buildings in it as well......

Yes, I think the scrapyard is now a caravan storage site and there are still buildings dotted around albeit I fear not for long !

@@PeterboroughImages It's such a shame I can't for the life of me understand why like Pillboxes, now are, these few surviving relics cant be listed and preserved..
