The Palace of Apries was a royal palace constructed by Apries, a pharaoh of the Twenty-sixth Dynasty of Egypt, located in Memphis. It was located directly across the Great Temple of Ptah and served as Cleopatra's residence in the city during her brief stay there in 48 BCE.

I commented this elsewhere before I saw your comment. But YEAH I DO wonder why people aren't making films with this sort of look and design. They either do Live-Action with CGI or 2D and 3D cartoon animations. Video game walk-through styles would be very interesting to put on film. And wouldn't it be easier to make than an entire video game itself?

I've been to Egypt. It was not pleasant experience. Museums were top notch, but people on the street are unapologetically rude, especially to tourists. Every cab you get into, and every attraction you visit, people will try to con you. If you must go to Egypt, go on a guided tour with a reputable tour agency. The resort, where we stayed on the Red Sea, the last few days of the trip, was very nice. If you want to see antiquities, Cypress, Greece, Italy, Jordan all have a lot to offer. My personal favorite was India, where we were with a tour group. I wish we had more time there. The landscape is amazing, and it's the cradle of civilization.

Thanks for keeping it green! The modern desert environment seems to have been caused by flocks overgrazing--something no monarch would have allowed, or the nomadic Bedouin shepherds who had a rotational grazing system for their flocks, evidently by treaties between their sheiks until the 1950s. Although that was in Saudi Arabia, I suspect the same practices were in place in Egypt. The tall palms and other trees represented in Egypt's statuary, IMO, probably REVEAL the ancient, forested landscape more than they would have CONTRASTED with it as now seems the case. How cool it would be to see that in real life today!

How did the Egyptians deal with mice infestations? No wonder they worshipped cats and mummified them even. I like the rendition of administrative facilities except that I imagine row upon row of desks/seats of accountants/book keepers, bench seating for clients wanting to be paid, people waiting etc. Egypt must have been abundantly fertile with produce that was exported everywhere across the Mediterranean. I would have liked to see more of the colour Azure, since they were abundant with azurite as much as they were with malachite and turquoise. In fact I see azurite as Egypts identity colour. Clear blue skies and flat horizons. Much more drapery since they made lotus silk that was cool and provided shade. And lotus silk absorbs dye very well. The ancient world was enlightened before the world was plunged into a dark age. I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you.

This isn’t set in Ancient Egypt era. It’s set in Ptolemy Egypt when it was under Greek rule. Egypt was Ancient to the Greeks as Romans are to us.

It’s still ancient Egypt considering that ancient Egypt doesn’t end until around 300AD

@@ramesesthegreat After Kingdom of Kush broke away from Egyptian, Egyptian suffered and finally in 671 BCE, Egypt was conquered by Assyria after which some of the temples started to be left in ruins. Egypt was then conquered by Persia and couple hundred years later it was taken by Greeks and from then onwards the native Egyptians had no native rulers and cities became hellenised. Under Roman rule it was far gone. The old Egyptian religion and culture declined until the rise of Christianity when hieroglyphics was no longer understood by its people. So this isnt true Ancient Egypt. It was Hellenistic Egypt

@@ramesesthegreat just because certain aspects of the old beliefs existed for longer doesn’t mean it’s part of ancient Egypt. Roman religion still was practiced by very few italic people in the south of peninsula well after the fall of Rome and western Roman Empire.
