Walking in Changdeokgung Palace and the palace's secret garden in Seoul, South Korea. Changdeokgung is one of the grand palaces built by the kings of the Joseon dynasty. It was the favourite place of many kings.
The palace complex is huge despite the fact that it was destroyed during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592. Only 30% of the original buildings have survived to the present day. And yet, it takes hours to check out the major places of interest. In this video, you can see Donhwamun Gate, Geumcheongyo Bridge, Injeongjeon Hall and other places of interest in the palace complex.
The secret garden lies behind the palace complex. It is a 72-acre garden with thousands of plant species and some 28 pavilions. The garden was built for the royal family and the palace women. Even high rank officials were not allowed in the garden. Therefore, it was referred to as the 'forbidden garden'.
