Darmstadt / Germany is a city near Frankfurt in the southwestern state of Hesse. The Mathildenhöhe district's with art nouveau buildings is a new addition as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
.
On this tour (in October 2020) we visit the city center of Darmstadt starting at the the Staatstheater Darmstadt. We explore the city center with the Palace-Museum.
We also get to the East of the city where we end our tour at the Jugendstilbad.

You could have walked through the Herrngarten up to the Mathildenhöhe which would have been awesome, but anyway great video of my hometown!

Thank you! Yes, when I return to Darmstadt someday I will take a different and possibly longer route. On that day I also went to Offenbach after that walk in Darmstadt. Days were already getting shorter in October. Thanks for the recommendation

Like Dresden this city was firebombed in 1940 and 3/4 of the city was destroyed, hence all the newer looking buildings.

@@bob-ny6kn Maybe we should just avoid wars by any means necessary. I dont want to talk about other countries who killed or oppressed other people because of their religion and or skin color. Like I said, no country should be bombed, not germany, not the USA, or any other country. We as individuals on this planet, should live in peace together and we have to work on peaceful solutions. It wont get us anywhere to fight instead of finding solutions. But I assume you have a pretty similar opinion, if not, feel free to write a reply :) P.S. How do you know Jean Valijeans postal code?

Ist this a Zeitungstand? 39:13 Old destroyed church named Stadtkapelle, since 1954 a monument in memory of the dead of the Second World War, in Darmstadt. The period between both dates is Hitler's time in the government. 39:52 Backside

8:05 You ask "Is this a Zeitungstand?" Yes, it is. When I came to live in Darmstadt 1969, it had been already there. And it is still now. Darstadter Echo is the name of the paper.

Camera info is always in the video description. This video here was recorded with the Osmo Pocket 1. I have also some videos from the Pocket 2 and use the Pocket 3 currently. Regarding video quality then Pocket 3 is best, then Pocket 1 and last is Pocket 2 in my opinion

The Merck buildings don't seem to be in the city center. In these walks I usually focus on touristy areas. Due to the popularity of the Darmstadt video I will see when I can return there and show a few more places such as the Künstlerkolonie Mathildenhöhe Thanks for watching!

Ich habe dort 35 Jahre lang die Straßenbahn gefahren. Als 2020 die Plandemie ausgebrochen ist bin ich nach Schweden ausgewandert. Diesen Schwachsinn habe ich nicht mitgemacht.
