“You cannot save a drowning man when he’s not weak enough.” There is truth to this. In 1992, I was drowning in a level 3 river rapid nowhere near a camp. I was in the middle of this river at a deep part, no life jacket, and I can’t swim. I was thrown out of my inner tube. My pride got me there because I didn’t want to look weak in front of my then girlfriend. No one from my group was remotely near me. Two men happen to be walking alongside the river and miraculously noticed me drowning. I was 20 years old and not a believer. I could no longer reach the surface, and I kept trying to swim in the direction I believed the shore was (one side, the other side was a giant cliff wall). The currents spun me around so much I became disoriented. Before I was saved, I slowed down a lot trying to swim because I felt warm all over in a freezing cold river, and something told me it’s going to be alright. In the darkness, I saw a light in the shape of a man at a distance walking toward me. It was then I felt a hand and arm bump my body. I gently reached for the arm and grabbed hold firm but not desperate. It was then 2 strong hands lifted me up above water. The amazingly strong swimmer saved me from the middle of an extremely turbulent river. The young guy left and his friend left before I could get his name or anything. I didn’t want to admit it then, but somehow I suspected this may be because of the hand of God in Christ Jesus. Since 2008, I have known for a fact it was Jesus who sent this angel to do what a strong professional swimmer could not do. Jesus saved me from numerous close calls so much that a nonbeliever told me once, “I’ve never seen someone cheat death so much. I’m not a Christian or anything, but it doesn’t take a religious person to see that God doesn’t want you dead.” Now, I am finally heeding my call for ministry. Last thing, as a Spirit-filled believer, Baba (Daddy God) told me that Joseph Prince is His. Thankful to the ministry Baba has put in Jesus in Joseph and Joseph in Jesus as we are now One.
