For the first time in five years, heavy snow has fallen in Kyoto.
The quiet morning view of the Togetsukyo Bridge, snowy mountains,
Katsura River, and the path through the bamboo grove is a very beautiful and precious scene.

what a masterful piece of artistry !!!!! I dnt know why this dsnt have a million views or more, your eye really captures the soul of winter and winter wonderlands. What a beautiful place to film. it really transported me to where it was. Made me feel so peaceful and tranquil. I could make a hot cocoa and curl up on the couch under a snuggly soft blanket, watch this film in full cinema view on my high def. screen and fall deep asleep just watching it. really beautiful work my friend thanks for posting it.

Thank you, One of my favorite sayings is "God is in the details". And I love photography and am always looking for the small beautiful moments that I might miss even in filming. I went there in 2019 during april, I came from France to visit my brother, the calm and peacefulness of Arashiyama really struck me, I went for a little hike in the surrounding hills, the ambiance was so magical with the lush nature. We stopped in the village for some smoked rice and popsicles. It is super beautiful aswel under the snow, the river is way wider than when I went

I would really like to visit Japan , Japan has so much to see and do , I never paid any mind to the country in the past , however after watch so many videos and vising the Japanese gardens here in Florida I found myself wanting to visit, I hope I can find the time and be able to afford to go . Japanese gardens are my favorite too. I recommend all famous Japanese gardens. They are a perfect expression of the Zen and Buddhist worldviews and harmonize with the breezes and sounds of the four seasons. The gardens are well maintained at a high level.

関西も雪は珍しいのでわかります。都市の雪も美しいですが、郊外の自然が多い場所だと冬は殺風景な気もしますが雪が積もると圧倒的な美しさに見えます。

During the filming of the Togetsukyo Bridge and mountain scenes, the gradation of white to gray and black reminded me of the world of Japanese ukiyoe and suiboku-ga (ink painting). I am so glad to see that there are others who feel the same thoughts.

Snow falling in Kyoto city is a rare occurrence, a precious image that occurs only a few times a year, every year. As you can see, many parts of Kyoto remain as they were in the past, so the streets are still narrow in many places. It is said that it was 794 A.D. when the emperor moved the capital to Kyoto and built the capital, so the city has existed here for about 1,230 years until now, and people back then saw this scenery in the winter season just as you do now. When you see these narrow streets, you will understand why Japan developed its own Kei (light) cars and Kei (light) trucks. Kei trucks are used not only for work in factories and farmlands, but also for practical use in towns with narrow streets. You can understand why large cars like American cars do not sell well in Japan, because they are not suited to this unique environment and lifestyle.
