Be careful when you are in the Dominican Republic. Do not drink anything when you are in a hotel or restaurant. A number of American tourists have died after their drinks have been spiked. That has happened to some British tourists as well. Do not take any drinks in hotels and restaurants. You can buy unopened bottles or cans. Those are safe. Open drinks are unsafe.
