A sunny weekend walk through the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon (usually called Stratford) in Warwickshire, England. The town is approx. 100 miles north-west of London, situated on the River Avon.
Stratford is a popular tourist destination, famous as the birthplace, home and burial place of William Shakespeare (the Bard), the most famous and influential English author of all time. The Royal Shakespeare Company resides in Stratford's Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
We start our walk at the burial place of Shakespeare, outside the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford. Our journey then takes us along the banks of the River Avon until we reach the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. We then explore the vibrant market at Bancroft Gardens before heading into the town centre. As we work our way around the town, we'll see Shakespeare's New Place (where he lived in later life), his school and his family home: Shakespeare's Birthplace. It's a busy day in Stratford as their is a food market in full swing. So, lots to see and experience.
