Follow my 4 day journey, walking 80 miles around the coastal path of the Isle of Wight. Day one starts with a stressful motorcycle to Portsmouth, a ferry ride across the Solent and a hunt for the perfect beach camp spot.
Just like my mum always worrying about me 😂 Memory foam pillow for me 😂😂 Love the oex stuff I use army surplus stuff my self Surely you don't need a map haha it's a small Ireland 😂
Yes the OEX stuff is great, and reasonably priced. I do have an army sleeping bag but it's huge! Yeah, no map needed....just stick to the coastline! :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for the informative and entertaining video! I believe you live in or around Brighton? I can really recommened the "1066 Country Walk" that goes from Eastbourne to Rye (about 31 miles).
Thanks for your kind comment. Wow...thanks for the tip. I didn't know about that and I've always fancied walking that section of the coast. I'll definitely do that :)
A really pleasant video about one of my favourite destinations. As you may have discovered there is a passenger ferry (Fastcat) from Portsmouth to Ryde - about £25 return. Also, a Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde, again passengers only. I first camped on the Island, near to Ryde (an organised youth camp) in 1953, age 11! Then in the 1960s went to a organised group stay for young people at Bembridge School - then a Boarding School - in August (school summer holidays), and met my wife-to-be; I was then in my mid-20s. Over the years we have stayed in Ventnor, then latterly at Freshwater - last time in 2019. The only time I have tried "wild camping" was 1963, with a graduate friend - near Durness, N Scotland - we were travelling around Scotland by car. We were woken in the night by sheep wandering round which bumped into tent guy-ropes! I must now view the rest of tour walking IoW tour. Thank you!
Initial thought. Maybe you could have gone across on the ferry crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth if it was cheaper? Obviously got same problem parking the bike I guess though. Great video!
